Do not buy from the white lighthouse company.

I ordered two bedside tables from this company and when they arrived one was in good condition but not the quality I would expect for paying £130 plus delivery. the second was damaged not through lack of care but lack of quality.

After calling the telephone number on the website and hearing a message: please email us, I wished I'd checked trust pilot before using this company!!

I've since emailed twice to try to gain contact but have received no response. I'm giving up after reading these reviews!

My advice: DO NOT BUY FROM THE WHITE LIGHTHOUSE COMPANY; if for no other reason than you cannot speak to a person!

2 years on I receive a response to my trust pilot review. But lo and behold I still cannot get in touch, despite the promise of a free return. Perhaps if this is actually the case someone will email me or call me to arrange the return.

I have just received a damaged item from this company, firstly they will not pay for it to be returned and say that a full refund will be given on return, after I have paid for that service.
After managing to send photos of this damage, this is the answer I received
We have fully investigated your issue and while we are saddened you are not fully satisfied with your recent order from The White Lighthouse we have concluded that this item is not damaged or defective and is fit for purpose. We do however offer a no quibble returns policy and will refund fully on receipt.
After reading the other reviews on this web site i conclude that will not receive a full refund, so have decided to take it to my air ambulance charity shop and let them at least benefit from my week of horrific experience with this company, and gain some money for a worthy cause.
I have purchased from this company before and had no problem with the product, so therefor did not experience a problem with their returns policy, which it seems from the other reviews is when you come across, this rude, un professional company.
I am quite aware they will come back with another point of view about my experience, as they seem to have done this too with every other negative review, but I want to warn others not to waste their hard earned money on this "family run business"

I would strongly advise any customer not to use this company, the delivery company delivered my parcel to the wrong address and didn't leave any failed delivery slip or instructions. When I contacted The White Lighthouse they refused to help me find it, issue me a refund or send me a new one, claiming it wasn't their problem, despite it being totally their fault. I have never experienced such shocking customer service, I couldn't believe they took my money and didn't care about me getting my order. I eventually knocked on a number of doors on my road and found it 10 doors away, with no assistance from The White Lighthouse.

Will post a damning review in a week or so if our experience continues to be as appalling as it is now. Cannot contact this lot by phone and have had no acknowledgment by email to date.
'Furniture' (thats a laugh) is flimsy and has blemishes and cracks (a child could pick up with one finger) and not a sign of anything that could be described as wood.

We had a very bad experience with this company!! 'White LightHouse Furniture Company' based in Northern Ireland. I'm NOT for one to complain, and nor do I expect much, however, other than complete lack of customer care and simply rude attitude I've had the unfortunates to endure. Yes, the website looks pretty and so do the product photos of furniture. They really couldn't care less for the 'Customer' it would seem, having endured such bad behaviour and rudeness!

Eventually after a month of waiting for our products - I sent an email to find out where our furniture is or get an update, I got back shortly a blunt email saying that our order had been cancelled.

May I suggest for future reference without sounding patronising: (At this point, it might be worth checking with the customer via phone or an email - to see if that is what the customer wants first and foremost?) - before deleting their order off the system and refunding.

I never expressed or stated I wanted this request 'to cancel my order' or to have a 'refund'. They have however given me the refund back in full but I had to really make a fuss of it and was not immediate.

I would seriously re-think, if you want to consider a company with this negligence and rudeness when purchasing online - after a lot of chase.

LOTS OF ALTERNATIVES TO SHOP ONLINE and with real customer service (ONE'S THAT ACTUALLY HAVE CONVERSATIONS ON PHONE'S - READY TO HELP CUSTOMERS AND COMMUNICATIONS AT THE READY). The number they provide just goes to a voice-mail that refers to their website. Can I point out - my last review was pulled down as they complained that I was only referring to the refund issue. I was looking at the whole 'customer experience' from start to finish, not just the 'refund issue' - I hope that's duly noted.

Ordered lovely white tables. Delivered in 4 days.

I ordered a piece of furniture and was sent an email saying it would arrive witin 2 working days. I stayed at home specially to be there for the courier and nothing turned up. I emailed to ask where it was but no response. When you phone noone answers and a message tells you to email. 4 working days later and no response or furniture.
Don't be fooled by polite responses here from them. They have sent me two rude emails and cancelled my order because I complained. Now they won't refund me for goods I haven't received. beware!!

Great experience from start to finish

The is an honest review about our dealings with this company and the risks involved with buying large items on line . I have toned down the language so that Trust Pilot wont delete the content as they have twice been forced to suspend my review by The White Lighthouse co. How this started .. Following a number of complaints I made in relation to trying to trace delivery and not being able to speak to anyone on one particular day a really offensive email returned to me by an unknown so called "customer care" staff member . When I complained further another incredibly rude message from a director .. says it all .
The table was is reasonable but the legs don't seem to match the table and closer inspection is poor finishing ( Made in China )
We ordered a White New England hall table on line via A. ( we are NOT allowed to use that name !) to cut long story short table arrived damaged Plus we had lots of issues with the courier that WLH use ( Not surprising when you see the Courier reviews on TP) but we are keeping damaged because it WOULD COST US and quoted about £54 to send it back to Northern Ireland which seems to be subject to excess charges via any decent collection agent. WE are very unhappy overall with this buying experience and warn others to read the reviews and make your own mind up . If you are not happy with goods or they are damaged.. Buyer Beware ITS GOING TO COST YOU . So the point is its better to go to a shop for goods like this and at least you wont get stung with returns.

I received my dressing table and stool for my daughter birthday within two days. She absolutely loves it.

I've had an awful experience with his company. I bought some wicker glass candle holders which arrived damaged and they told me to post it back to them and expected me to pay the return postage. Despite arriving damaged you will still have to cover the return cost! After they received my return they said that they wouldn't refund me because the items were allegedly damaged more so upon return. I clearly marked the box with "FRAGILE" and so I asked for photographic evidence but they sent me a blurry picture and said that they couldn't lift the "smashed" glass out of the box for "health and safety reasons" and for that reason would not issue my money back. I am so upset.
I saw the same items on a different site and regret not purchasing them from there instead.

The seller did not refund me for ANY items despite their claim. Please do not make the same mistake as I did. Also, I repackaged the items with the original packing! Perhaps this is the reason why the candle holders were damaged when I received them! You have been warned.

Bought my house in Brighton last year, overlooking the see. I wanted nautical but not too cheesy and found The White Lighthouse when I searched in google images, the look was perfect. Finally got the decorators out and picked and bought the pieces for the front room with the sea view. Only got a few pieces, a white and grey console and a trunk chest but added some of the seaside accessories, a sand piper and some boats and a little fishing net. All the pieces came the next week and were well packaged and easy to put together. A brilliant simple transformation with a few pieces to get the New England coastal look I wanted.

Received the bathroom cabinet I ordered within 3 days. Great value

2 bedsides and chest of drawers came Friday, didn't get round to opening them until this morning because weather was too good. easy to put together, chest of drawers already assembled but had to put legs on bedsides but just screwed on. Don't know if it's because of the sun shining through the windows but the room looks brilliant now. Beautiful!

Oh so happy to have found this web page great furniture at great prices - and they look so expensive wish I had of found it soon, might have to completely re funish my house now.

BUYER BEWARE! DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS UNSCRUPULOUS COMPANY!
I took receipt of my order from The White Lighthouse on 12/5/16 & immediately informed them, including photos, of the damaged item I had received. I don't know who thought it would be a good idea to place a heavy lamp base on top of a lampshade & not expect a problem? The lampshade was inevitably crushed & I asked if a replacement one could be sent out to me as the base was perfectly okay. I was informed that they do not send replacement items for damaged items & that I should package the item again and return it to them either via a Hermes collection or drop off & that a prepaid returns label would be forwarded to me within one working day. I opted for the latter as I am out at work and would have been unable to wait at home for a collection. I asked them to please forward me the prepaid returns label as they'd outlined.
That is the last I have heard from The White Lighthouse. They refuse to acknowledge or respond to any emails (I've sent many!), the telephone number listed on their website is a recorded message asking you to contact them via email. Their customer service is, quite literally, non-existent.
I have had to chase my refund through PayPal as there has been no contact from them. A case was raised against them & found completely in my favour. They are an unscrupulous company who care nothing for their customers or the products they provide. Any reputable company will be most apologetic for your having received a damaged item from them. They will arrange a return for you, at their own expense, at a time convenient to you & will obviously replace said damaged item as soon as possible. Like I said, any reputable company, NOT THE WHITE LIGHTHOUSE.
I wish I'd read the other reviews before placing my order. This company simply cannot be trusted & should not be allowed to trade.
PS. Please notice how they do not make "reviews" or "comments" available on their website & Facebook accounts. I 'commented' on the latter & it was immediately removed, as was the facility to leave any comment at all.
