The Society of Photographers Anmeldelser

A very enlightening, useful and enjoyable day. Recommended whatever your level of knowledge

Mentoring program was extremely useful for me. Mentors helped me to see the imperfections in my photos which I couldn’t notice myself and they helped me how to improve. I joined The Societies of Photographers because I wanted to participate in monthly competitions, but in the end I think taking part in mentoring program is the best what happenned with me!

I recently received some great news in the post! My submission for Associate Qualification in SINWP had been successful 😀!!! Many thanks to the judges for their comments on my panel of images and for taking the time to critique each image, very much appreciated. I could not have done this without the help of the Societies Mentor Me Programme and in particular my mentor who guided me through the initial selection of images and made very constructive comments on each image and as an overall panel.
If you are thinking about gaining a qualification then I can highly recommend the Societies Mentor Me Programme - so much talent and advice readily available to aspiring photographers.

I had an hugely informative day at the Fundamentals of Photographic Lighting Seminar by Damian McGillicuddy. It was great fun and Damian was super helpful to make sure I understood every step of demystifying lighting! His wealth of knowledge is vast and his kindness goes just as far.

Thank you to his awesomely beautiful model for the day and the rest of the team who looked after us in the very cool studio.

Highly recommend for anyone no matter how long you've been in the industry.

One day Photographic Lighting Seminar by Damian McGillicuddy on Weds 22 June at his studio in Widnes. Damian is at the very top of his profession. The day was informative, challenging and very rewarding. His steady, meticulous and incremental approach and demonstrations taught me a great deal. Well worth attending.

I'm very familiar with mentoring as I run an image review group at my camera club and my images are reviewed regularly. I also compete for PAGB awards and again receive mentoring. The difference with the Societies is that there is no verbal communication, it's all done by letter. I find this quite frustrating as a conversation will allow a much more meaningful explanation and will save time. Having said that, I couldn't have achieved Associate standard without my long term mentor, who showed great patience throughout.

Loved every minute of it! So much variety, something for everyone at all stages of photography - and very educational.

I was so overwhelmed by the experience, that I will go all week next year, I found the masterclasses brilliant, I didn’t meet many people, but I’m more than happy sitting in the corner, and watching brilliance, I thank you for allowing a beginner like me into the company

It's like a large family. Put in the effort and you'll be rewarded with lifelong friendships too.

There's training available from top quality photographers (which is superb) and will make all the difference to your photography aspirations.

Use mentor me to get feedback on your work which helps you see more detail into how you shoot and what needs refined. This is free and one of the largest benefits for those that want to use it.

The convention is an amazing week of training and socialising with many other like minded people (manyvtop of their photography class), and that gives that motivation you need to become a better photographer.

Highly recommended.

Another fabulous week at the Convention. Something for everyone from competitions to workshops to qualifications to partying! Privileged to be part of the behind the scenes team too. An immense amount of work has gone into creating such a great event!

An excellent event again that gets better year on year.

Definitely by far, one of the best events in the world for photographers. This convention not only brings together some of the worlds most amazing photographers, but it offers fantastic learning opportunities through Masterclasses and practical demonstrations. It also hosts the brilliant Trade Show, 20x16 Print Competition and the Awards Night gala.
Thank you to The Societies Of Photographers for all their hard work and dedication.
Each year this event means we can reunite with our "photography family" and be immersed in all things Photographic.

The Societies has given me the confidence and inspiration to keep putting myself out there and grow as a photographer. Learning from other photographer's experience and knowledge helps us all to grow as a community. It feels like being part of a family.

Best run photographic convention in Europe.

Simply the Best, organised, brilliant, and can not wait for next year. A must for Photographers.

I have been a member of The Societies of Photographers for two years. I have used their mentoring service when applying for the Licentiate Qualification. I found the whole experience very enjoyable and the knowledge passed on by my mentor helped me greatly.
There are many online seminars passing on great
knowledge on all photographic genres as well as monthly competitions and a yearly convention with a fantastic selection of speakers.
I totally recommend The Societies to anyone with an interest in photography whether they are professional or amateur.

I'm a relatively new member of SWPP, entering the 20x16 competition for the first time. Terrie has been absolutely brilliant, answering my questions, checking to ensure I'm conforming to some of the trickier rules, and even helping me validate that my prints would get there in time. Her support and help has been thoughtful and personal, and it's reduced the stress of entering! Thank you Terrie!

Very impressed with the professionalism of The SWPP. In preparing my Fellowship panel Terrie Jones in particular has been incredibly helpful arranging things and giving great communication and advice about procedure. Any questions I had were efficiently answered. I was given great and detailed mentoring advice too. Thanks

I couldn't recommend SWPP highley enough. I had an artistic background with a fine art degree. Still the skills I have learned through mentoring, qualifications, the judging school and the annual conventions are invaluable.

I could not have succeeded in this competitive market without them. I joined SWPP before I even had a website. I used their recommendations for softwares, albums, online galleries etc. They were there for me throughout the pandemic.

Thank you SWPP! I look forward to continue to develop my photography skills. Maria from Ebourne Images

I’ve been a member of The Societies for several years now and it just gets better and better. The live free-to-watch judging for the International Print Competition is an educational delight on its own. With the free mentoring service, trade show, business school and brilliant Master and Superclasses available at the annual Convention is something you should miss whether you are an amateur or professional. A great organisation.
