This is my third year with The Societies and every year I feel I've stepped up in my photography field a great deal. Although its a personal quest, I feel that I have all the support and inspiration being part of this group. The mentoring programme is especially good as one can get constructive criticism from established judges. The monthly competition i particularly like for it challenges you to raise up your game.
Terrie and her team will go the extra mile to nurture every talented photographer and for that reason and more i highly recommend this Society of Photographers.

I am very proud to be a part of The Societies of Photographers because it is the most important association of photographers in the world, working tirelessly to provide its members with bonuses and opportunities for growth and success. It connects photographers from all over the world and being part of this association is synonymous with professionalism and recognition.

I recently gained the ASINWP qualification from The Societies. Prior to submitting my images for this qualification I sent my images for review, as part of the Mentoring Programme. This was a very positive experience, the report received back, within about 3 weeks which I thought was v quick, contained detailed comments about each image plus a very useful summary. I found this was an excellent learning experience and after taking advice and making some changes felt more confident about submitting my panel for the qualification. I would thoroughly recommend this process as part of the path to a successful qualification. In addition, after receiving the qualification, I received some very useful comments from the 5 judges, which will help me learn and hopefully improve further. A very positive & helpful experience, thank you!

Last week I was at The Societies 2021 Judging School with an amazing group of fellow photographers, we had an intense 2 days learning with practical exercise, discussions and presentations. It quickly becomes clear the responsibility judges have to maintain the standards of The Societies and the integrity of qualifications.

The knowledge, guidance and support given by Terri and Angela during the course means you take a huge amount of knowledge away with you. The success of the course is a credit to Terri’s hard work, passion, honesty and keenest for transparency.

If you’re considering doing the the course I would say it’s definitely worth the investment.

I was absolutely blown away by the Judging School. In three days, Terrie and Angela shone a light on every aspect of what makes an image competition-worthy, and opened my eyes to see things I never considered before.

I’ve been an image editor for decades, and the system Terrie developed has an accuracy and integrity that is impossible to describe. It sets the highest standard I’ve ever seen, yet is simple enough for everyone to learn. 

And talking of Terrie.. what she doesn’t know isn’t really worth knowing. We were constantly amazed at the depth of detail she would go into, describing the ins and outs of what makes a photograph great, how to read it, and how to improve it.
Angela seamlessly brought a whole new dimension to the table, helping to deliver an insane amount of information in an incredibly easy manner.

I would not only recommend this, but actually think it should be mandatory for every photographer to go through this experience.

I can actually say that this course was a pivotal moment in my professional life, and for that I’m truly grateful.

Last week I attended The Societies Judging School led by Terrie & Angela. It was an excellent learning experience, giving me plenty to get my teeth stuck into over the coming months. Both Terrie & Angela are extremely knowledgeable and passionate. Not only did I learn things that will help me grow as a photographer, I found an ethos that I connect with profoundly and am proud to support. Fairness, respect and transparency are firmly built into the judging process, along with a desire to help photographers grow. Although the training is the first major step on the way to becoming a judge (which I hope to do in the future), it would be highly beneficial to any photographer looking to improve their understanding and skills. Terrie and her team have developed a robust judging methodology that sets the standards for others to aspire to. It has been an important step for me to develop my confidence and teamwork. Don't expect easy answers or simplistic thinking. If you are ready to be challenged and to take on the task of discerning the merits of images at all levels then I encourage you to sign up for the next one.

Just attended the 2021 Judging school, and Wow it was a fantastic learning experience on of the best I have had, the amount of knowledge that was freely given, and given in such a way it was easy to digest. I believe this class is worth while doing even if you just want to improve your own photography.
Unfortunately I can only give a 5 star I wish I could give 10 stars as this is what it truly deserves

What can I Say other than EXCELLENT, as a photographer who has entered competitions for YEARS with mixed results and thought I understood the judging process? Well I can say hand on heart I didn’t!! How the team explained the process and let me put into place the knowledge they imparted on me, gave a newfound respect for both the Judges and Terrie who run's this course, what this lady does not know about judging images is not worth knowing and her passion for fairness and transparency in judging comes through in bounds during the whole course. This course has had a massive positive impact on me and has left me feeling so energised
Anyone who is on the Fence, just go for it, you will NOT be disappointed.

I was attending the Judging School and highly recommend for everybody. Such a good team and the knowledge what we got is outstanding.

The judging school was quite simply amazing! The content of the course was very well delivered by Terrie and Angela who are both incredibly knowledgable, not just about the course content but also about the industry as a whole.

The mix of learning and practical exercises made the time pass very quickly and each stage was reviewed which allowed things to be clarified and ensured I left confident in what I had learned.

The venue was well chosen, clean and comfortable with lots of space. The organisers managed everything well taking into account the extra pressures put on them by COVID restrictions.

I would not hesitate to recommend this course to anyone.

I have been impressed with the range and quality of member support offered by The Societies since day one, but I have to say that receiving a letter from the Member and Customer Service Manager informing me that my email address wasn’t working was beyond anything I could have expected. Holly’s attention to detail and amazing customer service is better than anything I’ve seen since, well I can’t remember when! Thanks Holly and thanks Societies.

Love the SWPP convention which is usually held in January. The services provided by SWPP are at very good standards and are very resourceful for photographers at all levels. Great customer service and overall good value for money.

The SWPP is a excellent society and I am glad to be part of it.

Highly unprofessional organization. I have been with them for awhile and wasn't using their services, but the few times I have contacted them have always felt a bit, off.

Nothing is organized well, I know there are lots of people who get a lot out of the organization but I feel that comes down more to what they personally put into it (and thus could have gotten anywhere), than anything that the organization did that was spectacular.

I just had an interaction where I was called rude for informing them that the information they gave me was wrong - as by the conversation with the people that I had whom they told me to contact.

I was hoping to get more out of a society of photographers, but instead I just feel like I wasted my money, and gave it to people who are on some form of power trip.
