The train standards are appalling
The train standards are appalling. Trains are always filthy, seat are dirty and smells terrible.
During the winter the heating system is off and during summer there is no aircon.
Thameslink amalgamated Great Northern and ruined their line. Their trains are spotless, clean and had comfy seats. Thameslink is milking the customers but providing cheap service. A massive improvement is needed ASAP.

1000% unbelievable garbage service
1000% unbelievable garbage service. I needed a toilet in an emergency 10.30pm Saturday 16th November. I used 4 different information points. Sent all over the station and ended in severe medical pain, same person on the information answer button at least twice. Having found toilets tried to see time of train home. Just flashing blank on platform number. EVERY SINGLE MEMBER OF STAFF LOOKED AT FLOOR OR LOOKED AWAY WHEN ASKED FOR HELP. A disgusting and despicable service, managers will be wholly aware of. The Company should not operate, I encountered perhaps 10 different staff members and all exactly the same. Please God this Company goes out of business and quickly, I understand that individuals are often so much better than the Company as a whole. In this instance NO, 100% appalling and obviously permeates downwards from garbage overpaid seniors to staff who are evidently above even speaking to customers. WHY IS YOUR BUSINESS ALLOWED TO EVEN EXIST?
Thameslink: a ballad of cancellations
It used to be that Thameslink was a great service. Lots of trains. Ran like clockwork. Fast service. Since COVID though utterly awful. It can't go a week with out cancellations and/ delays. We aren't talking the odd cancellation/ small delays either. Utterly falls down. Every. Single. Week.
I recently made the switch to home working, actively choosing to drop my London weighting, purely because of this service.
Now on the rare occasion I have to go in, like today, it cancels out any regret I had about making the switch. Every time delayed and cancelled.
They blame network rail for a lot of the issues but truth is it is that they are effectively leasing that infrastructure and they absolutely have the ability to put pressure on network rail if they wanted.
The most inconvenient mode of transport
Train got slower and slower at every stop, losing time until we were 40 minutes behind schedule. Then it was announced that the train was being cancelled at the next stop and everyone would have to get off. No explanation, no compensation possible, no assistance.
If any other company behaved like this it would go out of business, especially at this cost per ticket.
Delays are common
Delays are common. Minimal announcements apart from ‘expected arrival time ‘. Solution would be nationalise. Clowns

Shameful - insulting hard working passengers
I’m embarrassed for them. Half term but we’re not all on holiday. They’ve cancelled both direct trains between 7 and 8 am to Blackfriars from St Mary Cray three days this week due to “shortage of train crew”. Yet they run half empty trains up and down all day to Sevenoaks - why not cut one of those and at least replace a commuter time train? Still at least the drug dealers are still getting their transport during the day.
Appalling service
Another day travelling with Thameslink, another nightmare. I finished working in Huntingdon just after 5pm and here I am, having to wait until 7.10pm for a train to get to Hitchin due to the usual, shockingly unannounced “shortage of staff”. Trains were also cancelled this morning, so I was late for work. I’ve travelled a lot by train in Europe and in the UK, but this is by far the worst train operator I have ever had to deal with. Shambolic trains with no charge points, constantly late or cancelled, with zero respect for hardworking commuters. Appalling, appalling service.

Third time this week (and its only Wednesday) train cancelled with 5 mins notice due to 'shortage of train crew'. Surely they know well in advance how many staff they have coming to work each day!!! My guess is they do but they want you to buy your ticket, turn up on time and then give up on the tortuous process of claiming for the delay. Absolutely shambolic service.
Disgrace
Thames link computer says no mentality staff with no understanding of their own systems. What a joke. Using online forms that are so complicated to complete, hours later you give up. Online forms that don’t work and crash. If I had a choice I would not use your services. Trading standards need to take a look at their practices.
trains not designed to encourage considerateness, care and compassion
Unlike the excellent TfL there is no provision on Thameslink for priority seating for older and less able bodied people, nor any signs to encourage care and compassion for older or less able bodied people - and it adds up to a feeling that they just don’t care, they only want to cram as many people into the train as they can to make money. TFL models considerateness and respect in the design of their transport and it feels like a completely different experience travelling with them - there’s much for Thameslink to borrow from them!

Dozens of services cancelled or curtailed today - Oct 19- because Thameslink can't be bothered to employ enough drivers. Total contempt for the travelling public. Sooner these shysters are nationalised the better.

Awful service around Cambridge
Awful service around Cambridge, always late , delayed or cancelled causing you to miss connecting trains. The rolling stock is horrid and uncomfortable, barely any customer support. Trying to get a refund for losing hours due to Thier incompetence is like trying to get blood from a stone.
Utter garbage operator
I use the trains only twice a week and they're cancelled/delayed far more often than they're not. Always cancelled for the most pathetic, trivial reasons.
Just an overpriced, garbage service run by a garbage operator.

Awful. I planned to purchase annual ticket as I travel almost every day to London, but I am so glad I didn't do that. Trains constantly cancelled. It is just the train complany where you cannot trust. I am pretty sure they cancel trains intentionally. I would say at least 2 out of ten when trains are cancelled to me. And it cancelled like I check the train app 20 minutes the train arrives, than all good, then when I arrive to the station tap my card, check the board ,and it says delay, or cancelled. Total nightmare, and the worst is that, I do not have any other alternatives. Friendly advice , do not buy property where Thameslink is your only option to get in to work because this company will kill all your braincells within months. This app asked the date. Unfortunately its not an option to tap on all the 365 days on the year.

Thameslink are an abysmal train company and if you are forced to use their ‘services’ trust me, your social life will suffer. You will get so fed up dealing with their endless delays and cancellations to and from work that when you are off work, you won’t bother having visitors because it will be embarrassing when they get caught up in the circus act and you won’t bother going out anywhere by train through fear of being unable to get home! Don’t believe the lies of ‘fast frequent trains to London’, their service is a joke, their responses to complaints are ‘copy and paste’ and their social media team are next to useless. Put simply, Thameslink are so wonderful and reliable that I bought a car
