I read terrible reviews on Amazon for Terrasoul's "Cacao Butter Wafers" only for summer shipments since the wafers routinely melted in the heat while shipping and fused into one-pound blocks. I asked Google, "Does Terrasoul ship with ice packs?" and got a positive response. I asked the same question about Girardelli chocolate and ordered it. Girardelli indeed used ice packs. Seems logical. So, I went to the Terrasoul website and ordered. There was no cold protective wrapping (or even mylar wrap to repel the heat) on arrival (it sat in the UPS truck all day), and the four one-pound packages were melted solid.
I have to use a knife to chisel through the one-pound block each time I add a chunk to my coffee, so I wanted small wafers. I went to place a review, and it said first to contact them if there were problems. I did and was told Terrasoul never uses cold packs, regardless of the weather. They would send another four one-pound packs, leaving me eight pounds of solid cacao butter. They said eating was okay, which is technically accurate, but why use wafers if that was the intent? Why sell in the summer? So, I went to give the review. They disabled my ability to review it, not thinking I would make a beeline to Trustpilot. If I had been warned that the blocks would have melted solid due to summer heat, I would have waited until winter and gone elsewhere. Now, I'm stuck with a significant headache of breaking this solid mass apart to use. The customer service behavior seemed aberrant, and they lacked empathy for why customers buy their products, so I felt a moral obligation not to remain silent.
