The worst company by all means.
A very bad company by all means.
I flew with my wife and 2 children ( aged 2 years and 3 months).
The Tarom flight experienced a delay at Amsterdam airport, where we had to fly to Bucharest and from there take the connection to Beirut. We arrived at 2 AM to Bucharest to know that the flight of Beirut already left.
At 2PM, arriving with 2 children at a country where you had no plans for, and knowing nothing about was the worst experience, airport employees are not friendly at all.
We have opened a claim regarding a delay of arrival with more than 3 hours to destination, and the claim is never answered.
NEVER EVER travel with Tarom! It's HELL
There is no improvement I can suggest. TAROM is simply a monstrous stain of corporate ineptitude and greed.
My mother and I traveled to Greece for a family reunion to celebrate her 80th birthday. She returned alone, and was supposed to take a short flight back from Athens to Bucharest and then to Cluj. The day before her return, TAROM sent her an email that they rebooked her flight to 2 hours from then, impossible to make.
She spent FAMILY time anxiously trying to figure out her rebooking, and when she got to the airport on the day of travel, her flight was delayed for 5 hours until 1 am. Alone, in Athens airport, with no TAROM personnel to let her know if she would fly at all, no food past security, and no answers.
Then when she arrived at Otopeni, Bucharest at 3am, they canceled her next flight to Cluj because they did not have room anymore and insisted that she booked her own bus. This is an 80-year old person!
What if this were Costin Iordache's own mother, the TAROM CEO? Would he had the same cavalier attitude when she traveled with Tarom?
He is possibly shrugging while reading this, if he even bothers to, and thinking, “Oh well, the great unwashed—what do I care? I am the CEO after all.”
No support no voucher, no apologies to a person whose age makes it difficult to travel, no food, no water to take her medication, just the disdain of Tarom's classic bureaucrat. I was dead worried for her health during her 30 hours of travel alone with no sleep.
Look, i am angry as hell, and I can't take this corporate greed anymore. This laissez-faire attitude of “I only work here,” this lack of care for the consumer must stop.
We are not powerless as consumers, even in Romanian, and we don’t have to be ripped off and mocked when we try to enjoy a family vacation.
TAROM is made up of humans who do not care; it is not a corporate entity beyond responsibility. They only feel the pinch when they do not have customers to pay for their salaries.
Ten months ago the European Commission (EC) has approved, under EU State aid rules, restructuring aid for Romanian state-owned flag-carrier TAROM for up to €95.3 million ($102.1 million). Where did the money go? Please ask Costin Iordache.

Tarom companie qui ne respecte pas les passagers
Tarom, compagnie nationale ? une honte ! Vol du 26/06/24 BUCAREST / PARIS CDGprévu à 13h10, vol RO384 - retardé jusqu'à 19h25 Sans bouteille d'eau à l'aéroport, sans excuse, sans dire pourquoi. Des gens qui perdent les correspondances... dans notre cas une personne(ma mère) atteinte d'un cancer avec métastase osseuse qui doit commencer son traitement à Paris ce soir. Et ils sont chers ! Une honte ! Un low cost c'est mieux, c'est plus ponctuel.

The worst airline ever.
Trying to communicate with them is a nightmare, they don't answer to calls or emails, typical communist company. Changed my flight to Athens and I had to buy another flight to get on time for this flight.
Rude customer service
I contacted customer support due to a very confusing luggage situation - I didn't think I had any hold luggage, but when I went on their website to add them, it said 1 per passenger, and when adding, it then said 2 per passenger. The customer support agent was not only very rude, but when I suggested that they could improve the website to avoid confusion for others, she replied with unnecessary disregard. I already regret booking with Tarom.
NO CUSTOMER SERVICE
Flight from Bucharest to Auckland New Zealand, with initially 2 stopovers. First flight canceled by KLM which transferred me to a flight with Tarom from Bucharest to Istanbul. This one was delayed by 45 minutes, so I missed my second flight. Stranded at Istanbul airport, I contacted KLM to find another flight. This phone call costed me around 230€ because out of European Union. To date, KLM puts the blame on TAROM. It has now been 6 months and still no reply from TAROM, whose customer service can only be contacted by email. When there is no problem, they know how to take our money, but when there is a dispute there is no one left to provide customer service. I do not recommend at all!

The worst airline I’ve ever flown with, extremely rude staff, dirty planes with stains and rubbish all over, and almost no leg room. They even lie about the baggage allowance and force you to pay 75€ extra for hand luggage that is included in the boarding pass.

Trotz vorgebuchtem, registriertem und bestätigten Sperrgepäck wurde wir nicht von der Airline befördert.
Die Maschine war alt und in die Jahre gekommen.
Auch 7 Monate danach warten wir noch auf unser Geld für den nicht angetretenen Flug, von der Airline gibt es bis heute keine Stellungnahme und keine Erstattung der Flugtickets.
Nie wieder würde ich einen Flug mit der Fluggesellschaft machen.

Despicable and disgusting behavior of the TAROM in flight staff. Untrained, arrogant, offensive and plain rude. Train or staff or just fire them.
I was assigned, without my consent or consultation with me, an exit row seat. Your untrained staff needs to know that assigning an exit row seat involves considerations such as the passenger's ability to meet certain requirements such as being able-bodied and willing to assist in case of emergencies. There was no consent required during the joke that you call "pre-flight demonstration", which did not happen on this flight.
If a passenger does not want to sit in an exit row seat by the window, the flight crew should respect the passenger's preference and accommodate their request to the best of their ability, subject to availability. Flight crew members are trained to handle such situations with professionalism and courtesy.
I asked for an alternative seat as there are MANY other available seats on this flight. the very rude and ill-mannered male staff not only did not accommodate my request, he showed attitude and rudely ignored my request. He spent zero effort on trying to accommodate my request and simply ignored me, after saying that I should move wherever I want, not his problem. Your untrained and rude staff did not even understand that passengers shouldn't move seats unless allowed by the flight attendants.
I clearly communicated to this individual that not being able to keep my purse under the seat in front of me will not be possible for me, as I had vital medication that I needed to take during the flight. He took my purse away from me, away from my reach, and ignored me, deriding me in the process then turning his back.
This sort of attitude is unacceptable. Tarom staff was inconsiderate, rude and obnoxious. They are better suited for a bus ride.
Damage suitcase and no reply for over 6 months
Tarom damaged my suitcase, however, my problem is not receiving the reimbursement or any reply for 6 months.
While they did reply in the beginning, one of their customer service employees was so kind as to hang up the phone during the conversation. Sadly, they did not pick up after.
Insupportable
Par inattention le billet Paris Bucarest de mon épouse a été enregistré avec mon prénom (report automatique de mon prénom sur son billet lors de la réservation par internet) => refus d'embarquer => obligation d'acheter un nouveau billet lors de l'enregistrement mais vente intervenue trop tard => nouveau refus d'embarquement => report sur le vol suivant mais obligation d'acheter un nouveau billet pour moi.
Pour le billet retour => idem mais l'achat d'un nouveau billet pour mon épouse n'a pu se faire sur le vol prévu car ...complet (bien que le nouveau billet vienne se substituer au billet existant) => achat d'un billet sur un autre vol pour moi et mon épouse
Au final achat de 4 nouveaux billets
J'ai réclamé un remboursement des 4 billets initiaux
Depuis presqu'un an le service clients de la Tarom me dit qu'il va répondre à ma demande .... sans que rien ne se passe

They are opening the check in just 1,5h before the flight, instead of 2 h how they should, extremely expensive tickets with very bad conditions, even worse than a low-cost company.

Très mauvaise expérience avec compagnie NATIONALE ! Départ de Bruxelles pour nous rendre en Jordanie, nous sommes arrivés avec plus de 24h de retard. Aucune prise en charge de la compagnie lors de notre transfert à Bucarest. Une honte !
