Great product - Installation 22 days late
Great product - and we're already receiving the benefits of having solar panels. Installation overran by 22 days due to 3 no shows by an electrician to finish the job. I deducted the cost of my time wasted from the final bill.

Instalation of solar system went smoothly from quotation to fitting. Installing the panels / battery was all completed in one day and was a nice tidy job. I considered the price reasonable and using Switch Together ment that I did not need to select a company. Highly recommend.

Generally good but the timetable could be more accurate
Generally everything went well, the installers were helpful and informative and everything looks pretty neat and tidy afterwards. However, it all took longer than anticipated and things didn't happen according to the plan that I was given. Be prepared for long delays before you get paid for exporting any power (maybe 10 weeks after installation - I'm still waiting) and be prepared to experiment with your power usage to get the best out of the solar. Unfortunately the scaffolding damaged my roof and, despite promises, I am still waiting for that to be dealt with after nearly three weeks

Efficient and transparent system
Solar Together (as it was then called) is a great scheme, giving customers the reassurance that the installers meet the standards required by the local council. The "auction" process was transparent and potential participants were kept informed throughout. This was the third time I had signed up as a potential solar customer, and this time I was persuaded to go ahead with having solar panels installed.

We are glad that your installation went well, but we are sorry that your experience with us was soured by your energy supplier, British Gas.
Normally, when applying for a Smart Export Guarantee, the energy supplier will request the following documents:
- MCS Certification
- DNO approval (also known as a G98 or G99)
- A paid invoice
All these documents are provided by your installer as part of your handover package, some weeks after the installation. With the help of these, you can sign up for an SEG with your provider.
As for the process of setting up your export tariff, I regret that neither the installer nor we have control over how fast British Gas can assess each application, since they are an independent organisation, and setting up an SEG is done directly through them. However, I completely understand your frustration regarding this matter.

Very good customer support up to point of installation.
Very good customer support from Infinity Renewables from first contact through to completion of the installation. However, it took 7 weeks (not 4-6 as estimated) and chasing phone calls to receive handover pack, delaying commencement of export payments. Whilst this stage of the process is partly dependent on the DSO issuing their certificate, improved communication from the installer during this time would provide some assurance they have not contributed to this delay.

Our solar panel installation
From the initial expression of interest right through to installation everyone involved was knowledgeable, friendly and extremely professional. We were able to adjust our plans mid-project and have ended up with panels which deliver the amount of “free” electricity that was predicted!

Our installation was a success
Our installation was a success, quickly and efficiently delivered by a pleasant, helpful installation team. We have been pleased with the solar solution itself, which has exceeded expectations in its performance.
The only disappointment was the time it took to obtain the handover details and certification, which delayed our being able to apply for our SEG, which is required to generate income selling excess capacity back to the grid.

All round - a good experience
The overall experience was a good one. The survey followed by design proposal went well and Solar Bureau were happy to provide a number of alternatives to assist deciding on a PV configuration along with unbiased advice on extra elements. The installation of the access scaffold was very proficient and its design was clearly based on safety of work at height considerations. The installation of PV panels and the inverter/battery in the garage was very professional. I only have one negative comment - Solar Bureau changed the installation date on me 3 times and at relatively short notice . I was able to accommodate as I am retired, otherwise had I been working it would have been quite an inconvenience.

Fairly straightforward process
Fairly straightforward process, we only had a battery installed. A bit disappointed that the battery could not be sited as promised in the garage and it was a bit of a scramble to get a space cleared for access to the final site on the house wall. People need to be aware that a detached garage, particularly on a different level, may make it impossible - the installer seemed to suggest that the surveyor did not know much about the installation process.
