If I could rate this 0 star, I would.
So In June, I faced homelessness because my ex decided she didn't want a relationship anymore. So straight away, I was put up in the Salvation Army in Stoke. I've begged and pleaded with everyone to try and get me into a property because me being in here is ruining my relationship with my children. I do not consume any alcohol and I'm definitely not a drug user, yet I've been pushed to the back of the line to getting a property even though I'm up-to-date with my bills, I have no debt and I have no criminal convictions. Yet I have seen people come into this building and leave within 2 working days! Not only does the housing team not care about people in homeless shelters but we're pushed aside. My mental health has started to decline because of all this and who cares about all this? Not the council that's for sure. I need to be close to my children because of health reasons, but I also need to get into a place sometime very soon because I have no visitation due to me being in The Salvation Army. For once, I'd like something to be done! :(

Deprivation, obesity and refugees and that's true at City Council meetings.

I found a girl wet though at night with a black eye with no where to go. Now this lady has a history. Just like I used to have a rang the council b4 9 in the morning. I was told ring back after 9! Now I had a history!!! I pulled my life back around IT'S Possible! I had no phone call to say they didn't have to house her! Because she was on some list from 4 years ago. I've not been in trouble for some years! I was an old prolific offender!! I've worked the past 12 years until I got sick. So tonight at 6 in the morning I've got to put this lady back on the streets!!! So I'm going to put the single bed outside my property!! And I'm sending this to the sentinel. If you want change this city god please bless this city!!! Just another junkie!!! Wow I worked at the YMCA and this is below acceptable. Your so falling short of your duty! As a person! You wouldn't leave a dog out.! Why is this becoming the norm!! If you want change put real work in cdas another poor service! But stars are amazing it's a postcode lottery! I care!!!!........

As a private landlord with several rental properties in Stoke on trent i would advise any other landlords to be very wary of Stoke on trent city council. They are not on your side & will do there utmost to make your life hell. I am in the process of selling all my rentals because of the way they treat me & several other private landlords i know i am trying to get back overpaid council tax on one of my properties which is now into the second month of requesting. I have been totally ignored for something which is legally mine i am now in the process of using the small claims court were i shall claim expenses & interest for my trouble. Get your act together Stoke council.

Arrived at Stoke West Station Car Park to find both machines out of order and unable to leave.

After one call to Stoke Council, a helpful lady confirmed she would help and ensure the machines were fixed or the barrier would be lifted by the time I returned... In 20 minutes.

I received a phone call on my way back to the car and sure enough, the barrier was lifted as I left!

Truly refreshing and great service!

Housing.. Well.. Im not entitled to an house as they are mainly to house these immigrants and people off the city who dont work and just claim and scrounge as much as they can... Again abi brown does jack crap as again doesnt care.. Im not eligible as im a white middle age low paid worker and there attitude is i can rent as i work...well most of stoke wont and dont work cause 90%are low paid jobs and get more in claims... Again.. The council dont care.. I was born here and have no rights to anything at all.. Leadership is non existant and quite frankly digusting.. And ashamed to be born here... Made it now that i have to move as most of the time dont feel safe either because the amount of crime they let happen

Riddled with ridiculous money grabbing parking systems. Unclear signage everywhere. They'd rather keep it that way to issues as many fines as possible. Not exactly enticing someone not from the area to come back. Purposely screwing over your own economy.

Disgusting city run by AWOL council. I've had to travel and live in many different UK cities through work, and the mess that is Stoke is at the very bottom. I've never seen a council worker, the streets are filthy, the people worse (most are off their faces on drugs) the roads crap and confusing, trees and bushes pushing you off the pavement onto the roads, sewage spilling onto communal areas, empty burnt down buildings, empty plots of waste land, it's honestly the biggest pile of toxic waste that calls itself a city. The council then hysterically put some posh paving down in one of the many city centres (confusing) and then say it's a city of culture hahahaha haha what a delusional bunch of Muppets hahahaha still laughing!

These people get everything wrong. I have driven my daughter to the Hanley office umpteen times to sort things out. She has provided them with every paperwork they have asked for. They have not bothered with it lost everything she took in claims they never received anything off her. And are demanding money back from her. She is a single mum with 2 youngsters, works bleedin hard to keep good on the table and a roof over their heads. And because STOKE - ON -TRENT COUNCIL HAVE MESSED UP YET AGAIN AS USUAL my daughter is struggling. STOKE - ON - TRENT COUNCIL ARE THE BIGGEST SCAMMERS OUT . I am Disgusted how they have treated my daughter. They make the mistakes and the innocent have to pay for the Councils Mistakes. How is this fair.

I was just reading some reviews and believe where praise is due we should share this and be proud of the people who help us through very difficult times.
I am a Small Domiciliary care Agency based in Stoke-on-Trent serving the most vulnerable individuals in our community.
When all hope was lost and I did not know which way to turn or what else I can do to solve my issues and the great stress of PPE.
I turned to my Local Stoke On Trent City Council.
I would like to say a very Big Thank You from the bottom of my heart to our local Stoke-On-Trent City Council. They have been a God sent and have helped and supported us through these unpredicted times. I shall forever be very grateful to all the staff behind the scenes who have worked tiredly around the clock to support Domicillary care Agencies on a daily basis.
I will be honest and say it’s been a very though ride these past few months to a point i thought this will ruin our business, for which I have worked so hard towards achieving and fulfilling my dreams.
Hand on my heart I can say our Local Authoroties have been great more than words can say or discribe.

Never answer phone calls regardless if you ring 9a.m. lunchtime, near end of day, or during the day. Just put on hold listening to music untill I can no longer wait

In my Opinion They waste money constantly , Build things that don’t last .
Make cutbacks everywhere that seem to just suit them , increase Charges but reduce services .
They appear to do deals that nobody really wanted .
In my opinion they should be investigated on a regular basis

This is the 4th week the council said they woukd empty the bins of a block of 7 flats and didnt.there excuse the tempary traffic lights stop them from stopping THICK AS FUK And lyeing freaks theres a carpark where i live so pathetic excuse.oh well the rats get to eat for few more weeks.

What a 💩 hole never visit again was charge for using a poorly marked bus route lane due to droping off my daughter off to catch the bus to travel south. Cheap scam for the stoke on trent council to make money. using poor maked full of pot holes road.💩

Awful council, terrible area to invest in, the council are a waste of space. Area requires good intelligent people in the council to take this area to new levels which works with private investors as well as communities.

Please avoid this area, as well as dealings with the local council. People in this area are in my opinion not willing to work, rather claim sick benefits. Area requires it's people to want to work to continue to prosper.

Local builders charge similar rates if not more than builders in London. Source workers from outside of the area as well as away from Stoke on Trent.

Needs a lot of push to change the mindsets of its community as well as the council. Not going to happen overnight. Local unemployed would rather claim benefits and play on computer consoles than labour on site.

Landlords beware the council deliberately attempt to give nuisance tenants to private Landlords, these tenants are time wasters, as well as damaging the property deliberately, they will eat your time, of which as Landlords we don't have much.

Steer clear at all costs please. Local housing inspection team make it as though any faults whether damaged by the tenant or not is down to Landlords solely, avoid yourself these types of tenants. Avoid them please! They will damage items to cause repairs so that they can cause trouble, Housing Inspection Team are an absolute diabolical scandalous team as well as Stoke On Trent Housing Solutions.

Landlords please avoid this area, high levels of unemployment, along with communities who have social as well as pyschological and emotional needs. The community require a change in momentum, council staff need to act with social and moral integrity. Dishonest council, dishonest employees.

Any landlord looking to use the council's bond scheme in favour of a tenants deposit, please don't waste your time nor effort. The Bond Scheme is as useless as the paperwork it is written on.

You have to call the council in 48 hours to make a claim, then have to get three quotes from local tradesmen, waste of time and waste of effort, please save yourself the bother, just don't rent your house through these people.

Tenants are in my opinion of poor quality, require educating like children. Council staff are no better, lack of buildings understanding as well as how tenants live. Change the mindsets of tenants not landlords. Also trying to push for £500 per five years license schemes to rent out houses of which will end up being the tenant who pays this ultimately.

Terrible ideas and terrible council, invest elsewhere please. This is not somewhere an investor can setup and prosper. All large scale investors looking to acquire land and buildings for supply and distribution please be aware of the obstacles against your business here, as local communities in this area do not work hard. Lack of investment has led to the demise of the area for a good reason. Think before investing. Local council are also difficult to deal with.

I was really looking forward to visiting Stoke but had the shock of my life. The city council clearly obsessed with speed cameras. You drive down long boring roads at max speed of 30 miles/ hr full of speed cameras. The money could have been better spent on improving the roads in and out of the city. Frankly, the council turned it intó a dump! and does not welcom visitors
