As a resident of Stoke-on-Trent I can safely say what a POO hole this place is.My once beloved city is a dump council promises are empty. Stay well away from this place.Council spends money on over priced car parks to hide don't invest on improving just hide the shanty town behind it. Homeless people outside ever other shop.Over priced council tax that gives nothing in return and then another smack in the mouth £40 for your brown bin. Enjoy my once beloved CITY.Thats if theatres museums and libraries are still open Also and don't worry about all the smack heads homeless immigrants they are all HARMLESS. Ps also don't forget no free parking on a Sunday

Stoke - on - Trent Council not taking the care or responsibility of the residences when on benefits, and unwell to work to pay there council tax.
This woman I know had the bailiffs knocking on her door demanding over £300 plus costs.
She paid the full amount which has left her with £1 pound in her bank to live on until she gets her next payment from universal credit in three weeks
( I REALLY DO HOPE YOU CAN SLEEP AT NIGHT )

I’ve repeatedly reported pot holes in my road. They repaired the main road at the end of my road because they had to but won’t repair roads leading off from it.
They don’t collect brown bins over winter unless you pay more.
Each autumn and winter the trees from the Basford allotments create a slippery path along the pavement which is a death trap for anyone on foot When you report it they aren’t interested. You have to fill in massive forms detailing the problem and the do sweet FA about it. What am I even paying council tax for?

Appalling negative Labour council, the government had given Stoke £56m to spend to regenerate the city. However they dont wish to spend it because they fear the public will thank the Conservative government for making the people lives better off and that may make them vote Tory in future. They would rather SoT stops 30 years behind most other cities and its people suffer and look to leave never mind outsiders visiting. There is a dead line for this money to be spent otherwise it has to go back to the government, it cannot be spent on anything else eg The NHS or potholes. Its just like the council wish to keep the city the poor rundown state it is. I have always said Labour wish to keep there people poor to keep them voting for them and if you required further proof come and visit.

Unable to get to my rent account online.Phoned the contact Centre she did not have a clue Kept me waiting why she tried to phone through to someone I eventually gave up & terminated the call because she did not help & I am fed ip of you expecting me tohang on yhe line Unless this is sorted I will stop my rent because you want us to do everything on line then I tried to get on to my renf account which proved impossible & a waste if my time & energy. I rate this useless service zero & this council should be taken over for the appalling service they provide. I now expect a call otherwise I will cancel all my direct debits or standing orders. It’s slow in making changes city centre needs attention really like right away it looks like from Chernobyl moovie disgusting place … Makes residents depressed all the time and agry too much drug addicts basically leave the city is the better choice I think don’t waste your life in a city like this it’s not worth it

Specifically relating to the Highways Department.
Typically broken beyond repair, a result of a directorate asleep at the wheel, and management unable to look after both health and safety and monetary management, but top of the class when it comes to both squandering council tax payers funds and ‘snuggling up’ to Utility companies and their anti social contractors.
A department utterly rudderless, devoid of any commercial acumen, an absence of a fibre of civic duty and pride. A department led by directors determined not to respect and value the council tax payer funding, in favour of obsession with subsidising defaulting utilities at the cost to the council.
Time to roll in dynamic management rather than the ‘protected at any cost’ job for life utility companies hugging medieval otherwise unemployable dead wood management.
A department content with dangerous carriageways, and ecstatic with pension pots, but who have a rather toxic dislike for health & safety, respect to the council tax payers and civic duty

Have neighbours using high and low toned sounds all day and night for 12 weeks. They smoke cannabis all the time and they have a little boy who is rarely let out of the house. I contacted the Police first who practically called me a liar and suggested I got in touch with the council, I filled in the form on the internet and two weeks later received an Email to say the case was closed. I then called the council Environmental department, this time and was told they were dealing with the issue and the person in charge would call me back..guess what?.. no call. After 12 weeks of sleepless nights I got fed up and wacked the stereo up between 6pm to 10pm first time EVER..Wallop letter from the council and visit by Police..Council informed us we were breaking the law and that they may visit and they may monitor OUR noise levels. Nothing over our drug brain addled neighbours though. Congratulations to Stoke Council you have taken incompetence to a level never before seen in any society.

Absolutely rediculouse got a ticket for parking outside a bay in longton wich was actualy the road no bay no yellow lines disputed and after many emails they got a writ and sent balifs and bullied me into paying and said i could complain and dispute it afterwards total waste of everyones time and the tax payers money i shall be contacting the local mp and the papers over this

Travelled up from the south east for a nice weekend away. I seen about 15 shops open in the city center that has not got boards on the windows and abandoned. Southerners not welcome so good luck getting a taxi or getting around. Pubs are rammed and 15 years behind in time and surprised people are not still smoking in there. Only people waking in the city are spice heads wanting 20 pence or cigarettes and arguing with them selfs in the middle of the road . Beers out date in pubs and stay away from weatherspoons fryed eggs . Had to cacth train to Manchester for rest weekend b4 I got the rope out . On a good note the Hilton garden hotel is nice just hope I got catalic converter tomorrow. Not worth wasting Ur time nothing to see nothing to do . Dead end would end up on the crack if stayed another day . Even the train station looks abandoned and falling a part worse city ever .

I was looking for emergency accommodation,been a vulnerable adult I thought a week on the streets in freezing temperatures with no food was a joke. Now placed into emergency accommodation with no kitchen,kettle and microwave must class as a kitchen nowadays lol

I get a ticket about parking but there was no yellow line not restricted zone just silly people work for council who is hungry for money. They are hidden on corner and aftar you leave your car they gave you ticket ad running away

I would give zero stars if I could, so the situation was I was asked for documents for housing benefit which was no problem until I tried to upload them on the website which does not work , so I made a phone call and it took me 30 mins to get through to speak to someone , I was told I could book an appointment at tunstall Town Hall to take the documents to them , and then I got cut off by whoever it was I was speaking to.....how rude , do they have no manners , I ended up making the appointment myself online , all I wanted to do was drop the documents off but no you have to go round the houses to get to what you need to do , just absolutely shocking shocking service but then it is the council after all , what a day of stress just for some documents which they requested , you couldn't write it honestly 🙄

Over about 30 years, my experience of our Council, F2F, has been positive. They've been understanding, helpful, patient, and usually deal with my reasons for visiting, promptly. I've arrived concerned; left relieved.
They did fail to give website information about the event of a lifetime... Our Queens Jubilee, and I'm extremely disappointed that I couldn't find much on events. This service really does need pulling together. I would expect local Councils to inform us about all kinds of events in the area as they have to give the go ahead, and licences, etc.. Many of these are at Authority or Public Venues. How about involving School Children in their updates? or Mental Health Services users?

Please please please fix the potholes. Another trip to the garage today and another courtesy car lined up for me to try and squeeze into. Roads are in a dangerous condition. Please sort out asap

Reported a grid that is blocked by the traffic lights at Weston Coyney several times over the last 4 years. It is so bad that the hole around the grid is getting bigger every day so when wet traffic splashes pedestrians and also deposits debris on the pavement. The repairs in the past have consisted of topping the hole up with some tarmac and NOT getting to the root of the problem ie unblocking it.
This has been reported to senior people in the highways department more than once but they seem only to have the ability to manage poor quality repairs.
We had our pavements resurfaced earlier this year but as time passed the poor quality became evident. Grass was growing through the new surface in many places, in fact one area became a serious trip hazard. Guess what? it was reported and NOTHING happened. But something else did happen, in the last few weeks all the pavements have been dug up for the installation of electric cables. With the heavy rain grids are now full of debris. Must have taken weeks of planning to get it so wrong.

I have reported my vile neighbours due to excessive noise , blasting music , shouting and banging and most of all DOGS barking ....they are running a puppy farm from their rented house and have atleast 15 or more dogs in and outside the home which my house is attached too . Its a total nighmare living next to these people and i reported stoke on trent council , followed their stupid advice of which i was told to politly ask them to keep it down , i did and was threatend by them ????
Next stoke council told me to write noise logs and use a STUPID noise app to record the noise , which i did and they still have done NOTHING ......
I have more than enough evidence to prove my neighbours are CONSTANTLY making anti social noise and yet they have done NOTHING and its been MONTHS ???

DONT BOTHER WITH THIS USELESS council for anything as they do not care at all .

Now if you owe THEM money or anything , they are staight on you like a ton of bricks .....

The man i currently speaking to at the council seems more willing to try and do something and address these issues but its been months since my initial compaint .

Got fined for parking even though I paid but the app is rubbish and it changed my times. Won't be using the app again.

The worst council on Earth. I have moved to the area over a Month and no bins. I have registered for Council tax, quick to send me to pay but can't get hold of them to discuss anything. You will be on hold forever, when you are fed up you will have no choice than to put phone down. There was a time , one of customer service things helping me out to give direct number, keep on trying by giving me a wro g number to dial. Even to reply to emails is a waste of time. No reply.

Rubbish. Absolutely inept.
