Overall happy despite recent disappointment
I have been a regular customer of both Steak King and Flat Iron. I particularly love the special meat deals which are a bargain and so far always of good quality.
With my last order, however, I was disappointed in the fact that the guanciale I ordered was already expired one week ago. The expiry date was clearly visible on the packing.
When I contacted the hotline, they were apologetic and offered me a voucher for my next purchase (subject to minimum amount) and which was less than I had paid for the guanciale? My disappointment that this means I am suffering a financial loss due to their oversight was quickly understood and they offered to replace the guanciale with a fresh order. I was fine with this outcome, yet this lapse of judgment from management annoys me. Moreover, I now wonder whether the expired meat would be “recycled” or properly disposed.
I have been happy with the products and service, and understand that screw-ups can happen. I hope this feedback would lead to better quality control and improve customer response.

What you see is what you get
If you live in HK and can't speak good Chinese. Steak king can be your personal butcher. You can get any well known steak for super cheap, and the quality is super good too.

Problems with packing
I bought 2 kg of ribeye steak, in 330grams cuts, and specifically asked for individual packing, i.e. 6 individually packed steaks.
However, what i received was 4 packs, where two of them containing 2 steaks each.

Rotten fish
I bought two packets of frozen cod from steak king. It was delivered in good time and placed in the freezer immediately on delivery.
When I defrosted the cod to eat the fish was rancid, it had gone off a long time ago.
When I contacted steak king they tried to suggest that I either hadnt put it in the freezer quick enough or I had not kept it stored in a freezer.
After a long email exchange steak king apologised for the rotten fish they had sold me, however instead of replacing or refunding my order they offered me a 5% discount on my next purchase
* Following this review Steak King reached out to me and provided a full refund for the rotten fish

Terrible Experience — Spoiled Steak and No Accountability
My wife had a really disappointing experience with this BBQ shop. The steak she bought was immediately frozen after she received it, but when we later defrosted it, it gave off a terrible smell;clearly it was already bad when sold.
She contacted the shop to complain, but their response was unhelpful. They claimed it should have been consumed within 7 days, even though she had frozen it right away. They refused to offer a refund or replacement and instead blamed her for the issue.
We’re both very disappointed with the product quality and the poor customer service. We won’t be buying from them again.

Frozen cheese came defrosted …
Liked everything but disappointed that the frozen burrata cheese (x2) arrived defrosted
I did not plan to consume them all within 24 hours. Would make me hesitate buying next time
