**Review for Steak King UK***

I spent £238 on premium Wagyu from Steak King. What arrived was a chilled meat delivery that was warm, with every ice pack completely melted.

I contacted Steak King promptly. I've been ordering chilled meat online for around 15 years, and I've never had a supposedly premium supplier handle a failed chilled delivery quite like this.

The response was almost comical.

First I was offered 10% store credit.

Then 100% store credit.

Then 50% refund and 50% credit.

Eventually they agreed to a full refund to my card — but only if I returned the meat.

Fair enough. Except despite asking, I wasn't provided with a return address, prepaid label, collection arrangement or even proper instructions for returning a large quantity of perishable meat.

So after getting nowhere with Steak King, I sent the photographs, correspondence and evidence to American Express.

Amex refunded the full £238 within 24 hours.

That probably says everything that needs saying.

Problems occasionally happen with deliveries. I understand that. The real measure of a company, particularly one charging premium prices for premium food, is what it does when something goes wrong.

Steak King had numerous opportunities simply to deal with this sensibly. Instead, I got a succession of changing offers, attempts to turn my refund into store credit, and finally a return requirement they seemingly couldn't actually organise.

For a company selling expensive meat online, maintaining the chilled supply chain isn't an optional extra. And when a customer reports that a £238 chilled order has arrived warm, the answer shouldn't be weeks of negotiation over store credit.

I wouldn't buy from Steak King again.

There are plenty of premium butchers competing for this sort of money. I'd rather spend mine with one that understands that premium customer service should accompany a premium price.

Consistent good quality and value for money. Delivery is on time and trustworthy.

AVOID!!! My first order was fine, but this second order was an absolute disaster. The meat was completely sour, and inedible. They tried to excuse it by claiming it was just the end of the striploin, but even the texture and taste were nowhere close to what they should be and it didn't even look like the M9+ grade they advertise.

When I reached out, they completely deflected and hid behind a pathetic 'company policy' to offer an insulting token refund, while trying to blame me.

They spend all their budget running flashy ads on social media to push faulty products, but refuse to take accountability. Save your money and look elsewhere!

EDIT (24 August 2026) :
I had to put the steaks in the freezer because the first two packs I opened were already spoiled with a strong sour smell, leaving me no choice to protect the rest while dealing with your team. Your team wouldn't do anything meaningful except push a 10% refund, so there is no need to reach out.

The deals are really good and delivery is fast and reliable.

everything came in good condition, safe packing, only bad thing is the delivery is late for a few hours.

Ordered from this place twice and my experience so bad, if you wanna be scammed welcome to this online shop, my first order was M9+ sirloin 1kg, however when i received the package it was 960gramm on scale and without wrap 940gramm, first time its okay something could happen. My 2nd order was on 5th of auguts and delivery was on 8th of august of 2kg M6-7+ Sirloin steak which cost me 184£(20£ discount) however when i reveived my delivery and opened i was so dissapointed because there is was only 1 item(1kg) of steaks, after weighting i realize it only 935gramm including wrap(so pure weight will be 910gramm). I made few pictures(proof and evidence) sent it over to them and explained that there is 1kg of steaks is still missing even a label on dpd parcel Bag state 2kg of total weight( 1kg+ weight of waterbags and something else). After long conversation with their team they said they will investigate that, hiwever their last message was 11th of august saying we still investigate "but our warehouse said they put the right amount of product" and after that there is 0 respond on my Emails and refund my 90£ i sent 3 emails and still zero respond. Also my order was wrong my parcel should contain 2kg of M6-7 sirloin but instead i got 935gramm of M9+steak. What a scam place. With custumer care like this and stealing money from them this place wont be long, for now is almost a 1 week gone and i've got nothing no money back and no product which i paid for.

First order on Steak King UK, 18/06/26 a piece of Picanha and an 800 g. Chateaubriand, to the tune of £132.
While Picanha was ok, the Chateaubriand was not.
First: half of it was sectioned and couldn't make a nice Chateaubriand out of it.
The texture and shape of the Chateaubriand had nothing to do with a tenderloin, but reminded me more of the Petit Filet/Petit tender, a much cheaper cut.
Emails back and forth with photos, did bring nothing. Last email from 17 days ago, unanswered.
Based on the fact that very few people can tell the difference between a tenderloin Chateaubriand and a petit tender/filet, Steak King takes advantage and cheats.
I can not recommend this company and I would suggest you get your meat, online, from other, real honest butchers.

It would have been nice to get a reply from steak king… the order was with the Hong Kong team also complained to the customer service.. advised this is normal ..it’s the first time after many years using steak king to experience this.. Used to use Steak king quite a lot very upset and disappointed regarding last weeks delivery.. 9 cuts of meat.. Quality has dropped, The T bone steaks had gone green along the thin fatty tissue along the bone.. customer service informed me this is normal.. and caused by vacuum sealing.. the steaks are sealed but not under any vacuum.. to me it looks like the steak was not stored at the correct temperature during transportation. Would have never purchased or eat steaks in this condition.. with green slime on the fatty area.. Made me rethink purchasing meat and fish online.. good meat shame they can’t deliver in good conditions.

While the steaks were ok, the shrimp carpaccios we bought were a big disappointment. The expiry date was approaching (oct or Nov26) and the shrimps were tasteless and not fresh, definitely not recommended! Paid 600+ for 10 and not sure who would eat the 8 left over discs…
