Poor organisation, poor accommodation, poor food. Good medical care. Kind and caring staff.

Always helpful and friendly nurses, dr's and staff. You feel properly cared for.

My father in law has his eye appointments for AMD at the Spencer Wing. They have a contact number (01843 234555) for the team there, however this doesn't even ring - just says they can't take your call. Very poor service.

Fantastic survis everyone in the whole hospital made me feel happy and safe I would recommend it to anyone I was checked on all the time at least every hour anything I was worried about they explained it fully to me even the catering staff were fantastic good job done thank you.

When I first stated that I wished to have private treatment I was impressed by the speed of the response and the date of my operation. Unfortunately that was the best bit. The administration chaos that followed resulted in me driving through a lot of Kent. My operation took place at Ashford but I was asked to drive to Margate for a swab test, two and a half hours driving for less than 5 minutes doing the swab test. Why a 5 minute action couldn’t be arranged at Ashford I do not know. Further to that I was asked to drive to Canterbury to have my eyes measured for the operation, was there no measuring machine at Ashford? Luckily the pre assessment person arranged for me to have a Covid test whilst at Canterbury (after I had expressed my concern that the test they were going to send me would not have the results returned in time for my operation). As it was the result had still not returned to Spencer’s when I arrived for the operation, they had to do a lateral test at the hospital. The operation itself was very good and, at last I felt looked after. The surgeon is excellent and took great care during and after my operation. I have had other private operations with other hospitals such as BUPA and the One Hospital and have felt looked after and cared for throughout the whole process but with Spencer I felt that the staff were only doing what they had to and I was not a priority, until the operation which as I have said the staff were excellent. Also I did not expect to have to drive all around Kent, at the other hospitals everything was done ‘in house ‘. Not one of my better experiences.

Very happy and impressed with the service, procedure and facilities....especially in this time of COVID. The facilities were clean and fresh and the nursing staff were attentive and informative. Thank you!

Seemingly disorganised, some staff of variable quality and certainly not a good bedside manner, food terrible, this is a pretend private hospital.

I can't fault the service I have received whilst under the care of the Spencer Wing. Friendly, caring, informative staff across all levels.

As before I received a great experience and support for my condition. The team have always shown their professionalism and make you feel comfortable. I will never have any hesitation in using their services again

The stay was great with my en-suite room. Nurses in and out all the time checking vitals. Food. Was edible although I did it have much appetite after my op.
The only bad point was my discharging letter as it had no details of any stitches how the plaster covering came off and when.

My experience was excellent. I was very anxious when I arrived at the ward and the nurses were incredible in trying to relieve my anxiety. The doctors also done their best to explain everything so I knew what to expect. I couldn’t fault anything from my admission on the ward.

Friendly staff, prompt treatment, great facilities

I had an operation on Saturday morning a d was discharged on Sunday afternoon. I was treated with dignity, kindness in a friendly atmosphere. I was terrified, but the staff were very supportive and my stay was good. My thanks to all the staff for their care, in such a friendly, and efficient way.

Thank you to each and every member of staff who looked after me so very well.

I had to wait 2 years but I received a phone call for a preassessment and I was told the procedure would occur 6 days later. I was surprised it’s so informal and phoned to confirm. Once there I received excellent service.

Both nursing staff,physios and house staff were excellent. I was treated very well indeed.

Nurses are excellent, very attentive and often visiting to check if all is going well, the hospital has a very good chef cooking balanced meals , clean and quiet facilities

So grateful for my hip replacement in Spencer Private wing, I was looked after by dedicated staff who monitored me during my stay. Thank You.

I was taken from reception to the ward up the stairs even though my admission was for knee surgery.
I was allocated room 4 at Spencer wing, QEQM, which needed some attention. The bedside chair covering was not just worn but peeling off, the TV remote was dirty and sticky, the hospital gown and bath towel were both very worn.
The physio showed me how to use crutches but did not check if I understood the exercise leaflet.
The nurses were pleasant but were heard to say how rushed they were to fit in all obs etc in time for that evening's list to begin. They did think to put my glasses back on in recovery which was a concern of mine and a big help.
I had to ask basic questions post op and at no time was I given any advice on a general recovery strategy. The whole experience felt very rushed.
All of this is just my personal experience but not withstanding this has been the most awful 15 months for health care workers and I do send my thanks and admiration to each and every one involved for all their unswerving devotion to their profession.
