My wife and I both had treatment in December 2024 at the Eastleigh branch. While I would rate my treatment as satisfactory, my wife's treatment was very poor.
We registered as NHS patients and after a check-up up we were both treated by what we thought was a Dentist, it subsequently turned out that we were treated by a clinician who we subsequently discovered is not a properly qualified dentist. This was not made clear to us in any way throughout the dealings with this dental practice!
My wife was told that she needed a filling on a back molar as well as two other fillings and that they would all need to be a white fillings which would be a stronger filling, which would not be covered under the NHS so we would have to go private, and this treatment would cost £450, and there was no alternative offered. (We now have established that the two smaller fillings could have been done under the NHS)
After some 6 months, we registered with a dentist closer to home, who X-rayed the tooth and this showed that there was decay inside the tooth that had been filled and that the filling would have to be redone.
Southcliffe Dental Practice (SCDP)disputed this, refused to refund the money, and offered to fix it; however, by that stage our we had lost trust in the practice, so we refused to go back in fear that more cost and poor treatment may occur again. We demanded a refund as the work would have to be done again by a dentist we trusted. They argued and contradicted themselves when we sent a copy of the X-ray showing the decay, claiming that the decay was new, which, of course, it couldn’t be within the relatively short time since the first treatment.
After delaying for as long as possible, we had to resort to telling them that we would take legal action through the county court SCDP finally agreed to refund the £450 we had originally been charged. They delayed the payment for as long as possible, claiming that the payment could only be made by” head office”. To our knowledge, there is no head office. They promised payment by a certain date and then nothing happened, again we had to threaten legal action if the refund was not done by a certain date. Finally, the refund, some 6-8 weeks later was completed.
To conclude;
I will now always ask for the qualifications of anyone who will be giving us dental treatment.
I do not believe that SCDP have a head office and that it was a way to delay the refund.
SCDP could have resolved the complaint much faster if they had any sense, and my wife and I would not be posting this review.
How interesting that they can take payment immediately for your treatment and take many weeks to refund!
I would advise everyone to avoid using this practice. My wife has kept all emails in relation to this matter so she can substantiate what transpired.

Very friendly staff and always welcoming and happy to chat to you. My new dentist Mehan and Vicky were very patient and caring and explained exactly what was needed to do regarding my teeth. Therefore I’ve booked next week to proceed with my dental work. This was my local dentist here in Southcliff, Westbury in Wiltshire with easy parking and good facilities.

Awful anxiety but Fatima and kerry were amazing. Kind gentle and reassuring explaining all the way. Thank you best dentist that iv ever seen.

Dentist Mehak Fatima and Nurse Charlotte were honestly brilliant. No fuss, no drama — just got on with the job and did it well. Mehak was clear about what she was doing and made the whole thing painless, and Charlotte kept everything running smoothly and made sure I was comfortable.

Me and my husband had our first appointments today at the westbury branch. The reception team were so friendly and helpful, thank you Amy and Helen.
We were seen by Ashwathy and Kerri who were also so lovely. They explained and showed me exactly what I needed to have done and why. There was no pressure to have the treatment done straight away (I’m very nervous) so all booked in in the coming weeks.
This is such a lovely dental practice where everyone we encountered was so helpful and kind.

I came in today for 3 fillings I had dentist athul
And nurse sheri with me and they both reassured me that i would be alright and wouldn’t feel any pain and helped me stop panicking about having it

I’ve been an NHS patient at @southcliffdentalgroup at Gosport for many years, and they have always been courteous and professional. Recently, I needed a few fillings, and I was treated with exceptional care by Ashilla and her team. Ashilla explained the procedure clearly and made me feel completely at ease with her professionalism and calming manner. I highly recommend this practice for anyone looking for quality dental care.

I saw Ayesha who was really good, offered to do a small filling for me and was amazing and kind with my little girl who was quite nervous

Lovely staff very helpful got me an appointment within the next day for a Checkup 100% recommend

Never at ease at the dentists, being a 1960's child when anaethetics were not the norm. If only dentists were as good then as they are today at South Cliff Dental in St Leonards. Special shout out to Mags, who whipped out my rotten molar in lightening fast time, without any pain & then gave my teeth a thorough clean. Highly recommended by me !

I met Sahil, the hygienist at Southcliffe dentist in Cliftonville, for the first time on Wednesday 19th November '25. I just want to say that he was very kind and he thoroughly cleaned my teeth & now they look so nice..all stains removed.

My experience working as a dentist IN 2023 at South Cliff in Westbury was unfortunately very disappointing. During my time there, I often felt unsupported in terms of the materials and resources needed to do my job properly. I also faced ongoing issues regarding payment, which left me feeling undervalued and frustrated.

I hope that future improvements can be made for the benefit of both staff and patients, but based on my experience, I cannot recommend this workplace.

I went for a checkup I was in there for few minutes I don't think the checkup was worth what I had to pay I wasn't even offered a Polish I will be asking for a different dentist next time

I have to say South Cliff Dental Practice in Dover is one of the best dentists that I have encountered
On arriving at Dover over a year ago with nothing in hand and compromised my first appointment the dentist noticed some damage to my front teeth that I had from the age of 21 years - they were my front teeth and I was bothered about it and it affected my smile - now at 58 years and having my photograph taken quite regularly I smile with confidence as that first dentist offered to cosmetically fix my front teeth and I had no funds at the time
I have to say as I was going through a lot at the time I was so happy and a few days later a friend took a wonderful photograph to celebrate my new look

Wonderful service, polite, punctual and treatments were done to a high standard.

Emily at the reception deals with our family when making an appointment and on general customer care . We all agree she is top notch on patient handling. The young lady is very pleasant and tends in putting patients at ease.This I find very helpful special for patients who are squeamish about the dentist !

I was incredibly nervous for my appointment, but all staff were very helpful at Southcliff Westbury. A huge shoutout to Athul and Charlotte who both made me feel at ease. They were reassuring and supportive despite me being worried and tearful. Thank you so much Athul and Charlotte!
