On 27/09/2026 I ordered a pack of 20 decking boards through B&Q’s website. On the confirmation of order it said, clearly and unambiguously “Delivery 30/09/2026 – 01/10/2026”. There was no mention at all of these not being fixed delivery dates or being subject to change because of issues with a courier. The courier, DX, had the order at the local delivery depot on time, in order to deliver on either 30/09/2026 or 01/10/2026. I waited in on both days. The delivery did not arrive and I heard nothing at all on either day from DX. I reported this to the seller. To my complete surprise, they told me that delivery dates are not fixed. In conversation with them, I was told that the only courier that could deliver an order like mine was DX. If DX had issues, then it would affect delivery. To learn of these very significant things AFTER placing the order was extremely concerning and infuriating. If delivery dates are not actually fixed and the courier could necessitate delivery delays, then this needed to be made very clear before placing the order. And not just in some small print – right beside the proposed delivery dates. Then the customer can decide if they want to take the risk of delays. I waited in again on 02/10/2026 and 05/10/2026, making a total of 4 weekdays waiting in. The delivery did not arrive and I heard absolutely nothing from DX. On the morning of 02/10/2026 the seller’s customer service representative said “Please be assured I am doing everything I can to resolve this as quickly as possible”. However, I did not get any update from the seller on either 02/10/2026 or 05/10/2026. These were just hollow words and no one even had the courtesy to tell me what efforts they were making. Overall, I found the seller’s customer service very unhelpful. I was told “Regarding the delivery dates shown at purchase, these are estimates rather than guaranteed deadlines, which is standard practice”. That is incorrect. That is not standard practice. This seller seems to be reliant on a courier that is unpredictable and because of that has to roll out well-rehearsed excuses about estimated delivery dates and delays in the courier’s system. The modern ecommerce world is actually one of certainty. In over 20 years of online purchasing this was by far my worst experience ever.

Called in at Bangor looking for reject timber just for a rail and post fencing project at home. Joe there was excellent having deciphered what I was after, I had had a busy day at work and couldn't string two words together referring to decking boards as patio boards!
He found what I wanted, excellent price and helped sort through the best bits of timber. Will definitely be coming back, hopefully with a clearer explanation of what I need next time!

Ordered some fence panels from Snowdon Timber via B&Q. Received an email saying order had been dispatched and would arrive at address on 11th September. No order was delivered, when I contacted the company regarding this, they informed me my package had been lost. This delayed the work at the property as everything was ordered and ready for the date that package was meant to be delivered. I wonder if I never had contacted them if they would have known about this… Do not recommend, very unreliable.

Wood was damaged. They refused to replace or refund. And when returning they to a £50 delivery fee. I do not recommend

Very pleasant and helpful Brilliant

I received my order quickly but the box was damaged so I took photos of it. The timber inside was also damaged. I emailed their customer service team 3 times with the photos asking for a refund but heard nothing back. Very disappointing.

Update: I’ve contacted you 3 times on your customer service email and haven’t even received an acknowledgment. My order number is 000001006.

Ordered railway sleepers for garden project and they arrived next working day and exactly what I was looking for. Delivery team also very helpful and I would happily use Snowdon Timber again
