Guess I should have read the reviews…

Guess I should have read the reviews before using the Simply Mac on St Simons Island, Georgia. A simple screen replacement could not be done in the office so they had to order a whole new phone. Great! I get a new phone. Wait.....I get a BLANK new phone as they didn't back up my phone correctly. All of the information on the phone, including irreplaceable photos..."I am sorry there is nothing we can do, " says Chandler the "operations manager."

I would like to give this business a 0…

I would like to give this business a 0 star review but it's not possible! I guess I can say that the store was clean. They charged me $80 to run a diagnostic on my daughter's MacBook Air an backed it up with a thumb-drive I provided, said they had done all they could when picked up. The computer would not turn on when we got home. After about 45 mins, it finally came on only to shut down unexpectedly after a few minutes (original problem). Apple store in Birmingham fixed the computer overnight(no charge due to AppleCare+,of which SimplyMac was aware). When my daughter attempted to reinstall data from the thumb-drive, she discovered that SimplyMac as applied a password to the drive without telling her resulting in another hour or two trying to reinstall her data! Basically all SimplyMac did was charge me $80 to keep the computer for 2 days and return it in worse condition than when they received it! STAY CLEAR of SimplyMac! They imply that they can repair Apple products but clearly they cannot! A TOTAL RIPOFF!! Unless you enjoy giving money away, DO NOT take use this store for any service related issue! SHAMEFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I try to get my phone repaired on jun 28 it is now july 15 still do not have my trade in, but they made sure to take my 99 dollars at the beginnin. It Has been a truly terrible experience. do not. One here if you want Efficiency. do not cone here if you value your time. Do not come here if you expect to have updates if something is 3 weeks late. Do not come here if you want anything other then excuses

I would give this company zero stars if…

I would give this company zero stars if I could. I preordered an iMac 2021 model for $1700. This is a really big purchase for me, and I saved a LONG time to be able to afford to purchase this. After ordering I was informed that they consider this to be a special order and that it will take 4-6 weeks from the date of the order to ship. I am currently sitting at a couple days shy of EIGHT weeks. When I ask about a shipping timeframe I get told that they have no idea, that it is fulfilled by Apple. So I ask if there is someone there that I can contact to get an ETA - and am told that they don't have that information. Really? You ONLY sell Apple products but you don't have a contact at Apple? Finally got ahold of someone at the corporate level who AGAIN tells me that they have no idea when my computer will ship, but that if I want to cancel my order and be refunded to email them at a certain email address - and now they are ignoring me. I have no money, no computer, no answers. I am getting ready to file fraud charges soon if I cannot get a response from them.

EDIT: Computer FINALLY arrived this past week. No updates to the tracking happened along the way, so it was sheer luck that I was home to accept delivery. DHL apparently contracts out for drivers, gentleman who delivered was nice enough, but was quite elderly and nearly dropped the computer getting it out of the back of his car.... SIGH...just an absolutely awful experience from start to finish, but at least I did get my computer.

Will not warranty purchase as described.

Upon receiving my macbook from an online purchase, I found the USB ports did not work. I contacted their support via email and was told I could use a Simply Mac store for my repair, that was 1 hour away. I booked an appt for Sunday at noon. Upon arriving, I saw the store was closed and new hours were posted on the door stating they open at 1. No one cared that their system allowed this mistake. They could not find my online order since their online and store systems do not sync. They said it could take 3 weeks for my repair because they'd have to contact corporate for approval. When I went to pick up the repair, they tried to make me pay for it. After a long conversation, they found a note in the system saying it was covered under warranty. Since distracted by the fee conversation, I did not check the USB before making an hour trip back home. The macbook was not repaired. I've attempted contacting their support again and they will not reply. Terrible experience and I highly suggest you do not use their service.

Couldn't ask for better!

Great service. I made an appointment online, showed up on time and got my computer back about 24 hours later with a new battery. if I'd known how easy it would be, I would have gone in much sooner.

Ordered Apple Pencil

Ordered Apple Pencil. Wrong product sent not compatible with my iPad. Horrible trying to return this. And it says they will charge a 15% restocking fee. No one answers at the 877 number. DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIC COMPANY..

This place should be called ‘Simply Ripoff’. After a $30 ‘diagnostic fee’ ( which diagnosed nothing but removing $$$ from my wallet) they sent me home and I had the same problem ( battery going dead after 30 hours of no phone use). When a friend solved the problem for me ( Bluetooth was turned on and these clueless clowns didnt know that is the first thing to check) I called back for a refund. “ Oh we’re sorry ....... SIR .... thats against our policy .... SIR .... have a nice day ......SIR. Wouldnt take my box of paperclips for these clowns to work on — much less an Apple product. They obviously got their ‘certification’ from a Box of Crackerjacks ...

This is the worst sales call I have…

This is the worst sales call I have EVER had. I just spoke with Cameron from SimplyMac's Ecommerce department after leaving a message for inquire about purchasing a 16-in MacBook Pro laptop. It started out fine with an overview of general questions on when the 16-in will include the M1 processor and how do the Intel compare to the M1 processors overall. He told me he never used one and really did not know. But he referred me to do plenty of research on other websites about specifics of comparing the two. At this point I had an idea that he did not have knowledge of a product he is supposably selling. Next, my specific questions were about their standard build vs. specialty build for a person who does occasional graphics and gaming, and what are some recommendations on why someone would use a higher memory than their standard build. Again, he kept referring me to other websites for information and to do a google search on the subject. I thought SimplyMac is a "premier" partner of Apple products. Several years ago, I went into the Best Buy store with a family member and spoke with their sales person. Everyone there was extremely knowledgeable to the point where there was comfort with purchasing the computer. Cameron's conversation had no passion or interest, nor did he really know his customers or product. You are supposed to be the expert to answer these simply IT type questions. At the end, he referred me to talk directly to Apple for my questions. In confusion I said, "so I should have called Apple directly instead of SimplyMac?". He said "no, but if you have questions about comparing memory, you need to contact Apple about their product." Again, this should have been a simple recommendation to someone who is purchasing online and not in a store. At that point, Cameron quickly cut off the conversation in a rude way as if he was done with it and could not bother to talk. It was just weird and my last words to him showed that. Now that I am looking at the google reviews, I would NEVER want to buy from a place that claims they are premier, but cant help the sales process and keeps referring to outside sources when they are supposed to be the experts. I am happy I did not buy!

No service, no computer, no care, no money

My wife has purchased 2 mac computers and an I-Pad from this location. On September 9, 2020 my wife brought her damaged MacBook Air into the Lloyd Center store. For $99.99 the sale rep said they would take a look at it. On September 18 they called and said the computer could not be repaired but for a fee they could save the data off the computer. My wife bought a new computer from the the store ($1229.97). The store said it would take a couple of days for the store to get the computer ready (?).

On September 23, 2020 Chie returned to the store, picked up the computer and paid for apple care. Data was never transferred from the old computer to the new one however she was charged a fee. On 11/3 Chie was typing and the computer shut down. My wife brought the computer into the store immediately. They said apple care would cover the repair. The customer service person said they would refund the charge to transfer data when Chie picked up the repaired computer.

No one called with an update. No one returned my wife's calls. Her computer was not repaired. They would not provide a new computer. They would not give us our money back. For my wife, customer service, customer care, apple care are empty words on a piece of paper.

On 1/13/2021 I sent a note to the corporate office and someone called saying someone would call. 1/21/no one has called.

I have been going to Simply Mac for a…Great Service Happy Customer

I have been going to Simply Mac for a few years now.They are always super helpful and kind to me even though I know almost nothing about computers. I just went today to ask about a cell phone and RYAN was just great in every way! He answered all my questions and gave me good advice about what to do next. I am even considering buying my next computer from them just because of the excellent customer service

Took my phone in to have fixed they ran diagnostic tests and said they can repair it but it’ll be a minimum of 3 hours. This took an hour, I live 45 minutes away, not familiar with the area and had my two young kids. I explain I can’t do the repair today so I scheduled a new appointment for 5 days later when my husband would be able to go with me. We show up for my appointment and dropped off my phone. They said it’ll be a minimum 3 hours but definitely by end of day (they close at 8 pm and my appointment was at 10:30am). An hour later they call to let us know they can’t repair the phone they have to send my phone in. So now I’ve wasted 2 days driving there trying to get my phone taken care of.

They recommend setting up an appointment but do walk in repairs before the appointment repairs.

I would not recommend going to this place.

Untrustworthy Thieves

I ordered a 13 in MacBook Pro online from SimplyMac under the assumption that a $2000 purchase would come with a required signature. I assumed this because it states this clearly on their website. This purchase was made 5/19/2020, I still don’t have it today. It still makes the claim about required signatures today.

Simply Mac did not choose to require the promised signature and so my package was (allegedly) dropped on my doorstep. The FedEx proof of purchase says signature was not required by the sender. Needless to say after searching high and low I still don’t have the computer I ordered over a month later.

I reach out to them expecting a resolution. On Facebook their own employee tells me that a signature is required. However after a week and a half of unanswered phone calls and emails they tell me that there’s nothing they can do. They are trying very hard to hide behind some nonsense saying it’s not their responsibility once the shipper has their product. I’ve gotten more respect and accountability from Etsy sellers with far fewer resources than this major corporation.

Additionally Simply Mac is blocking me from getting a refund since they have a contract with FedEx allowing only themselves to file such claims. They are refusing to file the claim so that I can be refunded by repeatedly ignoring my questions. When I sent them the letter mailed to me from FedEx and the recorded phone call with FedEx explaining this they stop answering.

FedEx has an announcement on their webpage stating that some signature requirements will be suspended but also states that they are requiring signatures as long as ASR (adult signature required) is selected. And who can do that selection? SimplyMac. Not me. Not FedEx. And yet crickets from them. Not a peep except to state that they are sorry and there’s nothing they can do.

Truly stay as far away from this company as possible. They will take your money and run then act as though you are crazy for wanting the product you paid for.

SimplyMac is SimplyTerrible

Horrible service. Three week turn around time on a simple iMac repair. Won't even answer their phone (been on hold for 48 minutes waiting for someone to pickup). When I went in yesterday, they even tried to charge me for service on a warranty covered issue. You're better off going to an Apple Store... trust me.
