Always helpful and experienced staff that process requests in a timely manner. I wish other larger companies could take a leaf out of silver chefs book. 😊 very happy with the service provided and the quality of the products too. Always excellent with proactive follow up too.

I have purchased/rented an ice machine from Brisbane. I live in Darwin.
On 18/10/25 When Ice Machine arrived it didn’t work. I contacted Sales Executive Sonia Elder who assured me that it was tested before being shipped. She then forwarded me to Warranty.
A day later contractors came out and assessed ice machine that was found to have faulty compressor.
A week passed with no contact but I was being charged weekly rental still.
It had been over 2 weeks so I called Warranty again who told they hadn’t ordered the part yet.
I was dumbfounded!
I emailed and called Sonia Elder again about this. She didn’t respond.
It’s now 11/11/25.
3 Weeks.

Very bad experience,
Buy second hand fridge from silverchef, broke down on 3rd day opening.
Can’t open the shop and lost stock due waiting to repair which takes too long and decided to get new one instead
Every time send security deposit never same number ex: transfer $681.40 but in contract the security bond written $582.54.
So what the $98.86 for? Contract fee?
Make sure to call them 4 weeks be4 contract finishes otherwise they will keep taking ur money. I missed the date and money took out extra 3 weeks and they add extra 4 weeks confirmation money for payout, i have to argue with them on phone saying i am not gonna pay extra more 4 weeks because it’s silverchef as an agent renting the equipment to reminding the customer.
in contract payout after 52 weeks is $4600 but become $4800, ridiculous
Even after pay the payout which take 1-3 days as from same bank and not first transaction which goes straight away same day, that payment made on Tuesday , i call silverchef account dept on Friday to confirmed , they say they will process on Monday, i said if you process on Monday means silverchef still taking money from my account as i set every Friday.
Very much disappointed

I had an account approved for a restaurant. I changed location. They hit my credit file again. I explained the bank error in reporting the missed payment. They don't want to understand. They didn't allow me to use previously approved limit to that other location of same business.

I could not believe a staff within Silverchef will share our transaction detail with a 3rd contractor without checking with us.

I have been using SilverChef for almost 12 years and never had a problem up until now. Change of hands maybe or just getting greedy.
They have added new ‘fee’ called a processing fee which now makes it impossible to get your full security deposit back. I had applied and got approved to upgrade my equipment (which I have done before, no troubles and no processing fee). I had already paid a deposit and the equipment was already on the way from overseas before they sent me the “processing costs” information. Information which was not in my contract I signed in 2020. Had they have given me the correct information before I paid my deposit I would not have upgraded my equipment.
I am certain it is not legal to add extra costs to a contract and then send the information through regarding extra fees AFTER the deposit to upgrade has been paid.
