Shibumi is very well run. The website is excellent and we recommend you use it to narrow down your choices to make best use of your one hour personal appointment, and your final choice. It's an impossible choice from all the fabrics if you don't.
The orders we received were an excellent fit for both of us. Highly recommend.

I ordered a beautiful jacket from shibumi for my daughter's wedding day ,longline Nehru in porcini colour.
Everyone was wonderful and helpful, nothing was too much trouble , they understood it was a very special moment and I wanted to get it right so I didn't let my beautiful daughter down on her big day. I can't thank them enough for their kindness, understanding and professionalism.

The customer service provided was simply outstanding, especially after I had made a mistake with my correct size for the coat I'd ordered. They were extremely friendly and understanding, making recommendations and suggestions. The coat when it arrived was as beautiful as in their website photos and fitted me like a glove. It arrived within the timeframe provided, well packed and nicely presented. The material is high quality silk and the coat looks modern and classic at the same time, making for a rather elegant outfit for a smart occasion. I can recommend Shibumi. I made an appointment with Ruth at Shibumi in April this year as I wanted something beautiful to wear at my daughter's wedding. I was delighted to be able to try on a range of Shibumi jackets, and Ruth gave me some excellent advice. I eventually chose a Bhumi jacket in Kingfisher Blue, and duly ordered it The jacket arrived in plenty of time for the wedding, and was all I hoped it would be. A perfect fit, a stunning colour and everyone admired it. It certainly won't be the last time I wear it!

I'd been looking for ages for an outfit for my daughter's July wedding but kept seeing the same things everywhere - rather fussy and matronly 'mother of the bride' dresses or floaty tea-dresses in pastel colours which are pretty but not my style at all. Then I came across Shibumi's website. I ordered the Bardot dress in Wild Orchid (a lovely fuchsia colour) and the Lyra coat in Midnight blue, both in raw silk. I don't do a lot of on-line shopping but Shibumi's website provided all the measurements I needed for the various sizes (plus detailed instructions on how to measure yourself), and they responded very quickly and helpfully to my questions. I was able to order samples of the fabrics (for £3 plus p&p) to make sure the colours would work together, and placed my order soon afterwards. When the dress and coat arrived, I was delighted. They are beautifully made, elegant and timeless in cut and the colours are glorious. Both garments are lined and did not crease at all on the day of the wedding (or even in transit). I received many compliments on my outfit and felt I really could not have made a better choice.

I came across Shibumi Style jackets after months of relentlessly searching for a Mother of the Bride outfit - I really was running out of time and luckily for me, the beautiful little shop is only a short drive from me. Typically, although Ruth has a number of styles in stock, the jacket that I wanted wasn’t but Ruth kindly expedited the order and my gorgeous Bracken Green Nehru Coat arrived in the nick of time.
The coat got so many wonderful comments, I would (and have) highly recommend Shibumi Style - exquisite clothing! I will definitely be back for more

Which colour? That was the question when I started to explore the world of Shibumi. I loved the Nehru style from the beginning and was looking to match it to a dress I already had for our daughter's wedding. I ordered 8 swatches and decided on Paradise. Apart from a small issue getting my coat through customs (thanks to Shibumi for chasing this up), I was so pleased to receive and wear such a beautiful coat. I received many compliments and I felt a million dollars wearing it. Thank you.

I was so impressed with the vast array of jackets in different colours, styles and sizes to try and importantly found the colour and style I wanted. Tyley was so helpful, getting out different designs for me to try on, advising on styles and colours without being pushy. The ordering process was simple and the jacket arrived earlier than expected. It’s so well made, fits perfectly and is absolutely beautiful. A very enjoyable experience!

Shibumi are a small clothing company who make beautiful coats and dresses, and waistcoats for men as well as home textiles. The quality is superb and certainly give the wearer self confidence at any important event.

I could not recommend shibumi enough! From start to finish the customer service is beyond excellent !! Nothing is any trouble. Any questions or queries you may have are answered straight away. Information and help about fabrics and styles of garments are talked through with you if needed. Samples for all the fabrics on offer are all available with very fast delivery which makes choosing much easier, holding the fabric in your hand instead of just seeing it on a screen makes all the difference . Of course you don’t have to buy online, I did, just because I live so far away in Cumbria, you can visit shibumi , see first hand what’s on offer and I would imagine have a lovely time surrounded by beautiful clothing and lovely people. Appointments are necessary for a visit. I had a lot of samples sent out before making my final decision, they are all so beautiful and so different but as it was for a full length coat for my daughters wedding it had to be right. Shibumi offer a made to measure service but also offer true to life sizing chart, just take your own measurements following their size guide of where to measure, match your measurements to the guide and then order. When my coat arrived it fit perfectly ! The garments unless stated on the website as been in stock, are all made specifically for the person ordering, which in itself makes you feel special. Obviously because of this it does take approx 4 to 6 weeks so do take that into consideration when ordering but it is well worth the wait and anticipation. When your parcel arrives and you open it, the packaging and time and care that has been taken to ensure your garment arrives perfectly is a joy in itself. The thank you card and quote of the day cards you receive are a beautiful touch. My daughters wedding day was magical and was made extra special by the way I felt in my Devi coat ,by shibumi. The amount of compliments and questions about my outfit was amazing ! My Devi coat I chose specifically for the wedding, but the beauty of my coat as well as the rest of the shibumi range is they are not just “ once worn “ wear it for a special occasion, you feel fabulous but don’t then put in a box and forget it, my coat for all it was bought for a very special day also looks fabulous with a t shirt and jeans , totally different look but still as fabulous! Dress it up, dress it down, same effect, just a stunning piece of clothing. There is one down fall ………you can’t just have one garment from shibumi, I now have another , a jacket this time, the Bhumi jacket in imperial blue, a different look but still the amazing style you get with shibumi. I can see a collection starting! Ladies and men’s outfits are available as well as things for your home. If you are looking for something different and special then please look at what shibumi has to offer first , you won’t be disappointed!

I’m absolutely thrilled with my Anya cashmere jacket in Venetian red. The cut is feminine and flattering on my short frame. (I’m 5ft 2in) and the colour is gorgeous.
I wore it all day in the warm Dubai sunshine and the lightweight fabric remained comfortable and didn’t crease at all despite me being sat down for hours.
Shibumi coats and jackets are not just for formal events, they are perfect to be worn casually with jodhpur boots and a hat too!
Ruth and Tyley are very friendly and offer outstanding customer service. I’ll definitely be ordering more jackets for the remaining dressage season.

The appointment felt like an adventure, with care and attention to detail and a vast range of styles and fabrics to choose from. Experience really showed in understanding my needs and supporting my choices. Communication beforehand and while waiting for the delivery was excellent and reduced stress. Delivery was easily in time and the packaging so beautiful it moved me to tears. Most importantly the outfit was really special, drew many positive comments and was amazingly comfortable, both outdoors and indoors for a Christmas wedding. I danced in the dress all evening! After doing much research for a Mother of the Groom and also Mother of the Bride (busy year ahead!) I found Shibumi. I am so happy that I did! From start to finish the whole experience was a pleasure. Spending time with Tyley at the showroom was so relaxing and she had plenty of time and patience to help me find the right outfits. My only problem was deciding what to buy - the quality, styles and colours are stunning! I actually purchased 2 Devi Coats in Aqua Teal and Vivid, and also 2 Bhumi jackets in Wild Orchid and African Cobalt! Now I cannot wait to wear them!! Having looked around for a silk trouser suit for my daughter's wedding I found Shibumi on line and made an appointment to visit the showroom. Tyley was really helpful and took measurements to ensure a perfect fit.
I was delighted with the Nehru jacket and cigarette trousers in Mineral which beautifully co-ordinated with the autumnal colour palette of the wedding in October. The suit arrived in good time. A lovely experience all round. Genuine compliments on the day about my outfit as not the usual Mother of the Bride style. I'm looking forward to wearing my jacket again in a more casual setting.
