They are closing my account because I have Russian passport, even when having the permanent residence. I live in Germany since 2019, and never been in Russia since then. For me it is a pure discrimination.
I will never trust this company again.

Today I received a very disappointing email informing me that Scalable Capital is forcefully closing my accounts because I am not an EU citizen—even though I am a permanent resident of Germany.

Scalable Capital claims this is due to sanctions, but there are no sanctions that generally target permanent residents of EU countries simply because they are non-EU citizens.

If you want to invest with a company that treats customers this way, that’s your choice. As for everyone else, I would recommend staying away from a company that appears to discriminate based on citizenship while misrepresenting the legal basis for its decision.

I went through a complicated registration process that took months, only to have my account closed a little over a year later because permanent residence isn't sufficient documentation—citizenship is the only requirement. I don't recommend this to people without citizenship, unless you want to waste your time for nothing.

It took 1 month to get an account opened. Reason? Customer service too busy. I had to remind several times to review my application.

Gut finde ich

Soweit ganz gut nur in der Darstellung und finden der Konten kompliziert. Das geht besser.

Scalable misinformed me about the proof of address requirements, so my documents were rejected. They then insisted I re-upload new documents, but then provided literally no way to do that - no email address, no functionality in the app, absolutely no way (I am a tech professional and I searched exhaustively). I had to wait over a week until an automated email arrived with a link. This meant a very long and drawn-out onboarding period - far from smooth. Even when this was resolved and my account opened and funded, I continued to receive automated emails bugging me to upload the documents I already uploaded. And, in terms of making my first investments, instruments are very hard to find - there is no way to browse by categories and the search functionality is very poor, just a straight exact-match search of the name, ISIN, etc. You can search for "japan" and never see 100 results that have 'Nikkei' in the name.

I requested a withdrawal and my funds were frozen/unavailable for an unjustified period of 8 weeks! with no clear communication on timing or the reason for the delay. A regulated broker should guarantee transparent execution times and prompt access to client funds, not leave customers in the dark. This experience undermines trust in the platform and raises questions about how withdrawals are operationally handled.

Leider hat es einen ganzen Monat gedauert bis mein Account bzw. mein Konto freigeschaltet wurde. Ich habe mehrmals telefonisch nachgefragt und jedes Mal hieß es, es sollte in wenigen “Stunden” freigeschaltet werden. Das war sehr frustrierend und jetzt schau ich mal wie es weiter geht. Meine erste Erfahrung war also eher schlecht.

Nutze Scalable nun gut 2 Jahre. Und kann nicht viel Negatives sagen.
Läuft alles ganz gut. Kundendienst einmal telefonisch angerufen und hat nicht zulange gedauert. Emails dauern leider recht lang.
Die App und Oberfläche sind modern und gut übersichtlich.
Etf Auswahl sehr gut.
Stand jetzt kann ich Scalable weiter empfehlen👍🏻

Meine Frau und ich können jetzt nicht nur nicht mehr einzahlen, sondern auch nicht mehr auf das Referenzkonto rücküberweisen. Bleibt also nur der Depotwechsel.

Ich habe vor genau einem Jahr die Aktien aus meinem Depot zu einem anderen Broker übertragen und anschließend die Kontoverbindung zu Scalable Capital gekündigt.

Nunmehr erhalte ich eine E-Mail von Scalable Capital mit einer Zahlungsaufforderung zwecks Kontoausgleich.

Dass sich im Nachhinein v.a. bei ausländischen Unternehmen nachträglich steuerliche Änderungen ergeben können, ist nun hinlänglich bekannt und nicht überraschend.

Aber, dass Scalable Capital eine Zahlungsaufforderung per E-Mail versendet ohne persönliche Namensangabe („Guten Tag“) und ohne irgendeinen Bezug zum alten Konto (z.B. Depotnummer o.ä.) halte ich für völlig indiskutabel. In der E-Mail sollte ein Link angeklickt werden! Dabei wird ständig vor Fishing Nachrichten gewarnt. Scalable Capital schreibt selbst E-Mails, denen man ganz offenkundig nicht trauen sollte. Sorry, aber das ist aus meiner Sicht ein Fall für die Bundesanstalt für Finanzdienstleistungsaufsicht.

I didn't even started investing, but onboarding was not easy. For some reason my documents were declined, I got the message stating that and after submitting complain, I shortly got an email, that documents are approved without my complain even being processed. So I guess it was some issue. Not blaming anyone, but from the broker (as well as from the bank) you expect precision everywhere, because we are talking about big money, customer should fully trust the app. The second thing that made me really sad that you can set up everything only through SEPA direct debit. I called my bank (in another EU country), they confirmed that they comply with SEPA, I transfered the initial amount to scalabale capital and it activated my current account. But when SC tried to withdraw money from my bank, they couldn't do it. As I understand SEPA direct debit works only with Germany and maybe Benelux, but doesn't work with other European banks. The whole point of me having SC is to invest while I'm living in Germany and move broker account without selling stocks when I'll go back to my country, it's the only reason why I registered in SC. Now I'm not sure what to do, because even if I'll manage to put the money to broker's account, I won't be able to withdraw them just because of SEPA issue. Would be much easier if SC would just use my bank card and not SEPA and would "charge" monthly as any other provider (Netflix, Spotify, etc). Anyway, now thinking should I delete the account or there is any other solution?

Im Februar ist mein Mann, die Liebe meines Lebens verstorben, und jetzt (4 Wochen nach Tagesgelderöffnung)soll ich begründen, woher ich das Geld habe, das ich auf dem Tagesgeldkonto angelegt habe. Dass so etwas einem tieftrauernden Menschen zusätzlich belastet, der auch noch chronisch krank und schwerbehindert ist, kommt bei denen natürlich gar nicht in ihrer Vorstellung vor. Zusätzlich ziehen sie einem die 4.99 für den Plus-wie auch immer- gleich im ersten Monat ab, obwohl sie mit einem Monat kostenfrei geworben haben. Einen Teil des Geldes legen sie bei einer nicht so sicheren Bank in Frankreich an (HSBC). So hatte ich mir sorgen- und stress-freie supersichere Anlage NICHT vorgestellt. Ich lasse es lieber wieder!

My experience with their support has been really bad.
I contacted them 3 weeks ago regarding a matter and was detected to the chat bot, I was later able to email them, and I am still waiting for a response.
To me this is absolutely unacceptable, why would I trust a bank or broker with my securities and money if they won't even provide support? I am seriously considering moving all my securities to another broker if their support continues being this non existent.
