My partner booked an 8-hour D&D session for me as a belated birthday present, and I was put in touch with Matt.
We video called and he listened with excitement to my ideas for a Spelljammer session. It was great nerding out with him, he was very easy to talk to and genuinely cared about my ideas and creating the best possible experience for my group.
My party had tons of questions for him as he was running a high level oneshot for us, and I was worried we would get annoying but Matt always replied with a professionalism, excitement, and ample information to answer every single question. The man knows his craft!
As for the day itself, he was punctual, engaging, fair, and fun. It was an all-round excellent experience and the 8 hours flew by so quickly. An excellent DM from whom I've learned a lot.
I have been very impressed with the experience of booking through Rolldark and working with Matt and would be very interested in doing so again next year.

The initial communication with Rolldark was quick, efficient, confident and in reading their email response excited my daughter straight away. She could sense that they knew what she wanted and knew we were dealing with the best company. James Tehoney, made her day, he communicated with us prior to the day of event, and made sure all our questions were answered. He obviously knew his skill, and delivered awesomely. He had 6 kids from all walks of life and nationalities did a great job. I questioned the teens about their thoughts on him, and they all said he was excellent, and would give him a 5 out of 5. I hired a DM through this agency for an in-person one-shot with a group made up mostly of beginners. The company presents itself as offering professional-quality sessions, so I was excited to give my friends a memorable introduction to Dungeons & Dragons.

We had to reschedule once before the game, and to the DM’s credit, that was handled smoothly and without hassle. Communication before the session was clear and friendly, and we even had a Session 0 where we were told not to worry about character creation — just come with ideas for your character’s personality, goals, and flaws.

That sounded ideal, but on game day we were handed incomplete level 5 character sheets. For new players, this was overwhelming. It took a long time to get the sheets finished with the DM’s help, and unfortunately, that ate heavily into our playtime. For a beginner group, it would’ve made much more sense to start at a simpler level.

The session itself was okay. It was prepped and ran to completion, but it lacked the immersive and polished feel we were expecting from a professional service. There were frequent pauses for things like background music and note searching, and the overall energy of the session felt a bit flat. Some immersion was lost due to distractions and filler language during narration.

That said, I really want to highlight the excellent customer service. After I shared our experience, Robert, the founder, responded personally, took the feedback seriously, and ensured everything was made right with no hassle at all.

Final thoughts: Not everything went the way we hoped, but I still appreciate the way it was handled. If you’re unsure whether to try this kind of service, I’d say go for it. Robert stands behind the work his team does, and if something isn’t right, he’ll make it right.

Booked a one-shot session for my birthday. Most of us are long-term players, yet our DM, Jack, was able to get us hooked immediately. Jack was very understanding of the extra requirements we spoke about in the run up to the session and fine-tuned his one-shot to cater to all of the players' needs. I would definitely recommend Rolldark to anyone, as even our first time player got caught up in the action!

We had Chris DM for a Hen Do! He was absolutely amazing, such a great sport and matched our vibes so well! Had so much fun, the one shot was great! The props he brought along were so cute! Thank you so much for a great evening!

Their Pro-DM course goes above and beyond what I expected. It covers how to run a good game, but more than that the course really teaches you how to DM professionally, including tutelage on branding, finances, and how to get business.

The course also pushes you to take steps towards becoming a professional, taking the theory into practice as you progress.

You can tell this course was made by people who really know the industry and are passionate about what they do. Would recommend to any DMs thinking about going professional.

Harry ran a game over 2 days for my birthday, and I couldn’t be happier with the results.

In the lead up to the game he worked closely with all 6 players to create a unique story based on our collective backstories.

Going into the game I knew Harry was a trained actor. That alone made an amazing difference, as he did a great job of making NPC’s come to life with voices and mannerisms. He seamlessly used sound effects with music, to create very polished effects on the fly.

He also did a really good job of rolling with the random directions our group chose to go in, and seamlessly built a narrative on those decisions. For anyone familiar with techniques like “yes and” or “failing forwards”, Harry is a master in both. Every player had their moment in the spotlight during the course of the game, and at no point did it feel forced

Harry went above and beyond our expectations. Everyone in the group has mentioned how amazing the game was, even those less keen to engage in RP. Over the course of the game I laughed, I cried and was generally disappointed go back to reality the following day.

We hired Rolldark for a one-shot D&D session as part of a stag weekend, and it was one of the absolute highlights of the trip. Despite being a large group of 14, most of whom had never played Dungeons & Dragons before, Rob crafted a hilarious, engaging, and completely unforgettable experience. He struck the perfect balance between guiding us through the game and letting the chaos unfold naturally, keeping everyone involved and laughing throughout. Couldn’t recommend Rolldark more highly for anyone looking to try something unique, fun and brilliantly run.

Rob ran a 'one-shot' call of cthulu session for us as part of a stag do weekend. Rob was fantastic, the story was great, plenty of Cthulu horror and everyone had a great time. Can't fault the organisation and communication from booking to event - thank you.

Our Dungeon Master was Face who listened to our request for an all day one shot and totally delivered. We had a great day with a great story which allowed us to play in a way we wanted to. Some very scary moments and a lot of laugh out loud moments. We have run sessions like this before with rolldark and they always deliver so we will do it again. Thank you.

Top notch experience with Damien as our DM. He crafted a unique and memorable adventure, and handled the complexities of a group with various degrees of roleplaying experience and tech issues. Damien really brought the characters and environment to life.

Tommy was fantastic leading our group of adventurers through a fully immersive story that despite the loud personalities in our group were successfully engaged in a genuinely fun experience. Would recommend them if you want something different and interesting or for events (in our case stag do).

Tommy was absolutely fantastic. We're not an easy group to handle but he took everything in stride, adapting and adopting everything into an incredible experience!

Tommy was an excellent DM. He was filling in shirt notice for a stag do and did a superb job of writing a campaign. Great acting. Very funny. Couldn't recommend it more.

Chris, our DM, was fantastic. He rolled with the punches of an exuberant hen party, and adapted his game to include in jokes from the bride’s childhood. The props, as provided by Nikki, were exemplary. We all had a wonderful time and couldn’t be more grateful. Thank you for giving the bride a wonderful first DnD experience!

Chris handled our rambunctious group of gamers expertly and delivered a phenomenal campaign and experience. Would recommend him every time.

We booked a one shot session with Tommy Nean to celebrate a friend's 40th birthday in style and we genuinely couldn't be more pleased with the outcome.

Tommy was very friendly, charming and professional, quickly putting everyone at ease and alleviating any nerves from the few 1st time players we had.

As he took us through the bespoke 4 hour story, all fears about our entirely unsuitable venue (a dissapointingly loud cocktail bar) melted away. Not only is he brilliant at patiently guiding a group of varying experience through the narrative without losing momentum, but his improv and performance experience became immediately apparent, both in bringing characters to life and the ease with which he can adapt a story to the most unhinged player decisions. Exactly what you want in a DM.

Tommy gave my friend an unforgettable custom birthday experience, the attendees a perfect evening and fully converted the 1st time players into full D&D addicts. Our group has already decided to try to book him for a long monthly campaign later in the year.
