Beyond frustrating
Read Rolawns literature and it will tell you over & over again how important it is that the turf is laid within 24 hrs and not allowed to heat... etc, etc. & this is why you pick a delivery date.
Only for the delivery company to get confused because it's a week with a bank holiday in it, so the delivery is missed & the perishable turf sits on a pallet in storage for 24hrs longer than necessary.
Rolawn customer service were notified & said it 'should' be ok. the turf was laid in one day & watered thoroughly since There are yellow patches at most the edges that I hope will recover.
Rowlawn - change your courier! And what do you recommend as recompense. Perhaps some Medallion seed so that I can over seed?
Time & effort will tell if the turf recovers

Appalling quality
Appalling quality. Infested with POA and leatherjackets from delivery. Most of the grass is weed grass. Turf under the green shoots was mostly brown, unhealthy and already half dead. Avoid unless you want to spend your valuable time killing off the turf and reseeding. Bitterly disappointing experience after preparing the ground works so diligently.

I'd avoid the Google Reviews - 3x orders, 1x partial discount, 2x missed delivery dates - zero notifications in advance they weren't going to make delivery dates.
No sense of customer service, their answer is always "head office know this, not us" - but they won't tell you how to contact them, or put you through.
They do not try to empathise with the customer, it's always your fault for their mistake.
It's a swing-and-a-miss with these people I'm afraid.

Horrendous
Horrendous! Took the night off work with the idea they might deliver early in the day even though it says delivery any time between 8am-6pm. Received a text at 2:30pm saying the delivery will be between 6:30-9pm. Remember they advise you to lay it they same day. Rang the company to say what was going on. They said they would speak to the delivery company (London turf) heard nothing back for 2 1/2 hours then got a text saying delivery will be 5:30pm.
You can guess how frazzled the turf was on the back of a lorry all day. Some of it sounded like paper is was so crispy. About 20 rolls out of 105 were damaged beyond putting down, mainly shredded. About half had something wrong with them but had to lay them. Thick one end thin the other end, some 2 inches wider than others. Absolute crap. And full of leatherjackets. Off to the garden centre tomorrow to find replacement turf and a trip to the dump to get rid of the rubbish ones. Premium turf company my ......

Failed to deliver 3 times

Think very carefully before buying turf…
Think very carefully before buying turf from Rolawn... we prepared the earth for months before so there was minamal weeds then we purchased just over 50m2 in September last year, it seemed OK when delivered, small patches of meadow grass and thinning but nothing to worry about. But the start of this year we had extreme cases of crane flies coming out of the turf, also we noticed the turf was starting to turn yellow and dying. we remove parts of the turf and found it was infested with Leatherjackets which have been eating the roots. Because of this, the meadow grass has now taken over the lawn as it is left is so weak. in theory this grass hasn't even made one summer. Rolawns reply was to explain what a leatherjacket is and that its not ideal there in the turf but offerd no compromise on this. I can understand there could be some in there but this was an infestation.
We do not recommend.

Utter disaster
Utter disaster from booked delivery day onwards. Several calls once the delivery slot was missed, told it was still due, time continued to change, I knew the courier was not going to turn up from the tracking app, give away was the job was updated as completed shortly after lunch. I remained at my client’s house until 6.00pm, no show. Call to Rolawn following morning, we need to contact courier, will get back to me. They did get back to me at 1.30pm.
I’m a landscape gardener, client stopped payment from the previous day when turf failed to arrive, the Thursday. Turf was promised to be delivered pre 10.00am the following Tuesday, turned up at 2.30pm. The job has ended up with my business making a loss! I’m still waiting for Rolawn to deliver anything they have promised.
Cheap couriers are not a solution. What on earth has happened to Rolawn?

Shocking incompetence and failure
I've honestly never experienced anything this crap in my entire life of buying goods. The company arranged delivery, so I took the day off work. I'm freelance so this cost me a lost days work. I called them welk in advance to ensure the access was right for the truck and pallet lift vehicle , and I was going to be at the site at the right time. I recruited my small team of helpers - friends and family - to help me barrow the compost on arrival back to the plot. The delivery window was 8am till 6pm, and I was told there would be a text to indicate time. This text never came so I called once in the morning, again at lunch, and again at 4pm just to check everything was okay. We stayed on site from 1pm onwards, as I was concerned the communication and organisation wasn't brilliant, and I wanted to make sure we didn't miss them. At 5:45pm I still hadn't had the text, but was assured again that I must be the last call of the day. At 6.15pm, it still hadnt arrived, and the customer service guy agreed to call the delivery company, who said that the consignment wasn't on their system. So there was no compost. No delivery was ever scheduled, and I had wasted a day and my helpers whole day. It also cost me £55 in pizzas to pay for my people's time and effort, albeit for nothing. I was verging on speechless at 6.15pm, and all he could say was that he could either refund or mark it to be delivered as soon as possible. But clearly that's going to be a while as it's already been 3 weeks. 🙄 Worst experience ever. Don't bother.
Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

AVOID - DISORGANISED, UNPROFESSIONAL COMPANY
Same as lots of people on here. Order placed for top soil 5 days ago. Email confirmation received. Second email received confirming delivery date. I phoned to check some details about the order. All fine.
Didn't arrive by 3pm on day of delivery, no contact made or tracking provided. Phoned to check progress. Assured it would arrive by 6pm. Still not arrived at 5.30pm. Phoned again to check and again they tried to fob me off, saying it should still arrive by 6pm. I asked for this to be looked into further, and after being placed on hold for 5 mins I was advised that 'the office haven't sent the order to the delivery company'.
Complete waste of time, I now have 50m2 of turf which was due to go down today (tomorrow at worst) with no top dressing.
They can't help now as 'the office is closed'. Why the person I spoke to 3 days ago or at 3pm couldn't have checked the order was passed to the delivery company properly is a beyond me. Likewise, why close your delivery office before the delivery window closes? Why send out a delivery confirmation email before passing the order to the delivery company???.
Seems to be common experience based on reviews on this site. Wish I had seen this before ordering.
No offer of compensation for delay, just an empty apology.

My order was left on the road
There was plenty of space for a lorry to deliver my two bags of topsoil - far larger deliveries have taken place - including a previous one from Rolawn.
Customer service was non existent. i booked via Wickes
I will not book again and do not recommend

Delivery appalling, product great
Delivery date missed, again, by 48 hours. Dreadful customer service, although the staff who man the phones have their hands tied. Ended up asking if they’d even planted the grass seeds yet. No regard for customers plans. Usually delivered late afternoon, meaning turf rolls need to be laid out and watered over night as daylight fades and you have 100+ rolls

Ups and downs but happy ending!
Initial complications with my order, and it was delayed inexplicably by the carrier. But customer services at Rolawn are excellent and so the situation was resolved to my satisfaction. Ultimately, things do go wrong and in such circumstances the trustworthiness of the company is all-important. In that respect Rolawn comes out well!

You really have to read the small print with this horrible company as they will take your money quick as a flash, then tell you they will not deliver on gravel, and don’t use a high ab like most other decent companies I’ve used, they seem to be back in the dark ages using pallet lifters,
Also the worst part is they will not refund you if you have gravel after the order has been made even though I booked delivery three weeks away,
So not sure exactly what they need to keep the money for when it could easily be refunded,
If you can find somewhere else to buy the same product please do so this filthy lot don’t get money for nothing

Wish I had read the reviews before ordering.
Ordered a bulk bag of top soil with confirmed delivery a week later being today. Had the usual terse email about access and delivery and sent the W3W for the address. Had the landscape team waiting around all day in the heavy rain but no delivery at 5pm when I sent them home - eventually got through to Rolawn customer services who finally confirmed their delivery company Palletline had changed the delivery date until tomorrow without any discussion or communication - very poor. Will order from a more reliable company and will not use again.

The delivery guy asked me to leave a review saying that he had done an excellent job because he had to drive his van over stony roads to get to me and that it was killing the tyres.

Ordered turf, received confirmation for chosen day waited all day - nothing arrived. Called them next day, apparently turf never dispatched. Of course no one contacted me to let me know.
Turf is perishable short life this time of year, so had a team waiting to lay lawn (Rolawn state turf should be laid on day of delivery). If you read there delivery terms...delivery anytime between 07:30 and 18:00hrs there is no tracking, no delivery slots and no way to find out what's going - you have to trust it will arrive. Which I did and it did not to my cost.
