**DO NOT BUY AN ENGINE FROM QUALITY USED ENGINES**

We purchased a replacement engine from Quality Used Engines that was advertised with a multi-year parts and labor warranty.

With **less than 1,000 miles on the replacement engine**, it developed a knocking/tapping noise. We took the vehicle to a professional repair shop for diagnostics, and **the shop found metal shavings in the engine oil and recommended replacing the engine**.

We have attempted to resolve the warranty issue directly with Quality Used Engines and have also sent written correspondence asking them to address the problem. We still do not have a satisfactory resolution.

The company's website is also currently showing as unavailable when we attempt to access it.

Based on our experience, **I would not buy an engine from Quality Used Engines**.

We are still willing to give the company an opportunity to honor its warranty and resolve this matter. If Quality Used Engines resolves the issue fairly, I will update this review to reflect that.

I am a business owner that has bought multiple engines from this company. Historically with little to no issues. I currently have a few engines on order and when calling to find out more information was hung up on, every single person I spoke to was absolutely disrespectful, rude, and lacked any ounce of customer service skills at all. After my orders arrive, I will not use this company ever again. Their products are usually great, prices are fair, but the way you treat your customers especially business owners who habitually order from you matters. You have lost a repeat customer which is unfortunate.

Where to begin... bought an engine in January 2026 f0r $8,200.00, had the engine installed. Mechanic had to drop the motor and change out some gaskets because ot would not hold fluids. Then he reinstalled it $7000,00 to Mechanic after all done just for the engine to blow up 2 weeks later. The company approved a refund which was great but here I am after 3 weeks of trying to get my refund check and still no body has been able to help me with information on when im receiving my money, I called talked with a Dale he said I need to talk with Allen and Allen said I need to talk to Samantha. I have waited on hold to talk to Samantha for hours. Not sure this person even exist. Thats my experience in a nut shell to go into full detail would take me hours to write. My advice buy your engine somewhere else....

I would not purchase anything from state auto recyclers. I sent them $800 for a motor I received no motor numerous phone calls with no reply and numerous emails also with no reply so I would be very skeptical about purchasing anything from them.

Is it possible to leave less than a one star review?? This place sucks and they don't honor their warrantee. It does no good to complain. They don't listen. Stay far far away.

Received an engine for my Dodge Durango which was no good. They was suppose to send another engine out which I didn't receive. I requested my money back and informed them that I will send them back their engine. Spoke w/the supervisor Alan he told me I sold there engine and he was calling the police on me. I guess I will not be getting my engine or money...WARRNING DO NOT TRUST THEM GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!!!

I ordered an engine for a 2013 Toyota Avalon Hybrid. At the time of the order, the seller promised delivery within a week; however, it didn't arrive in a week—it took 14 days, as stated in the order details after payment was processed and the funds were debited from my account. The engine that arrived did not match the description of what I ordered; instead, I received a 2012 engine for a Toyota Camry. They didn't send an invoice indicating the engine's mileage. Now, if I return it, it will take another 14 days to receive the correct one after they get the wrong engine back. As you can see, they’ve held onto my money for about two months, and I still haven't managed to get my car fixed.

Scammers. Avoid at all costs. Their website is full of reviews that I suspect are fabricated. Check Trustpilot for the truth. Paid $1,700.00 for engine and after long delay received an inoperable, junk engine. Sent it back and waited for another until I couldn't wait anymore; cancelled the replacement and requested refund. I was told I would receive a refund. Total BS. Waited weeks to hear back from this company, and meantime got an engine elsewhere. Guess what, QUE sends me an engine. I call them back, they tell me to refuse it, so I do and it goes back. I call about my refund, and they tell me it was $350 shipping both ways for both engines, as well as a 25% restocking fees on each. They tell me I OWE THEM. I told them I wasn't paying for their mistakes, and their employees' miscommunications. They still have my money, won't communicate with me, and I've written a letter to the Attorney General. This crooked company must be put out of business. Also, beware, they go by different company names, same tele# and/or address.

Ordered a 2000 Chevy 1500 5.3L engine on March 16th 2026. March 31st engine arrived. They sent a FORD. Got back with them for a full refund. Engine picked back up a few hours later. It’s May 13th and we are still fighting them to get a full refund. Horrible company stay far far far away. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY.

I really wish I had looked more into this company before buying an engine from them. I would absolutely advise avoiding them at all cost… Purchased an engine online that was supposed to have 67,000 miles on it. Had the engine installed by my mechanic who discovered a lot of problems with it, ended up costing an additional $1200 in repairs just to get it working beyond the installation cost. The mechanic became suspicious so he ran the VIN number on the engine and it was from a car that had 183,000 miles on it. I called to try to get a refund, was asked to fill out a bunch of forms, but then essentially no further response from the company. It seems like this is a common occurrence for them.

FIRST OFF DONT BUY NOTHING FROM THESE CLOWNS !!!!!!! I bought an 2011 5.7 hemi for ram 1500 I purchased for $3500.00 plus $150.00 for tailgate services then had it taken to the dealership I'm making this as short as possible I paid the dealership 3500 to remove and install the broken engine and the alleged good used engine which was a steal the mechanic said the cylinders all had water in them and was rusted 6 head studs were broken off in the head and intake manifold was crushed we put everything new on and in this engine before installing it I needed my truck so I took a chance with the rusted cylinders it locked up tight after 5 seconds of running they then needed video and pic I did what they asked they said ok get it ready for pickup that was Oct 13th 2025 they wanted to know refund or another engine I said refund I've called every week since then trying to get my money back it's almost 6 months later I'm still sitting here with no money I called and emailed I have pictures of everything engine,emails, call logs and so on I'll be reaching out to the Attorney General in the next few days if I don't hear back. I'm starting to think this is a scam I read nothing but good reviews from Google so now I belive Google is involved with them also they pop up as soon as you search engine I'll definitely post updates it anything changes so far I'm out $3500.00 for the engine $150.00 for lift gate $3500.00 to have the old engine removed and the new one put in

This company is nothing more than scammers, stay as far away as you possibly can.. put a 1500 dollar deposit on a engine and then called to cancell the order 10 minutes later and was told they don't refund deposits.taking legal action now but just want people to stay away from these crooks.

Excellent services! My engine came on time and was shipped straight to my Mechanic! My Mechanic said that it was the cleanest used engine that he had ever seen! Thanks Quality Used Engines!

Crooks and scammers. Do not buy. Sent me junk engine, then came and got it. Supposed to send me good one, but nothing but broken promises and repeated delays. Called and cancelled, requesting refund. Was told my refund would process. 10 days later they shipped me another engine. I immediately called and advised that I had cancelled and was told I'd get refunded, and even had an e-mail confirmation from the person I had talked to confirming it. I was then told I could refuse the delivery, which I did. Then I get an e-mail saying I owe them $300+ each way for shipping, plus a 25% restocking fee! And they still had the $1,700 plus bucks I already paid them. And still do. Starting legal action.

Terrible. I should have known better after reading the reviews but decided to take a chance. What I received was an engine that was junk and won’t start due to jumped timing and valves on this diesel engine. Took my shop 5 months to start the engine swap and that voided the warranty of 10 days to have it installed. Totally missed that. Bottom line is engine was bad and they sent it out without any testing. No way I would ever buy from these people. Do your research and look at reviews and the BBB reports.i just threw away $2500 . Don’t be like me. Stay far away.

I bought 1 engine ,the engine was late ,said " was being tested ".when I received the engine the mechanic didn't test drive .. so I rode off into the sunset and got 4 blocks before the engine started to act up check engine light came, on had so many codes the mechanic tried to fix what was possible on the codes and was exhausted ..I filed a claim and was sent another engine ,I asked about get a claim for labor cost and was told I didn't fill the warranty info out .I explained that I had done so I strongly believe it was a scam/loss your info so that the company doesn't have to honor it, I was sent out the 2nd engine and yes same thing but with fewer codes again I went through the process and this time I want to speak with owner and was denied stated that the warranty info is invalid and you are on less then 90 days .I asked for a full refund and was denied , I spent over 5 ,ooo for parts,labor and rental fees.. something should be done in shutting this business down. I only seen very little positive views and the A.General for the state should step in do investigation along with Google. Why..? When you type in the {search engine used motors } there name popped up and with all the bad reviews almost 90 %. Google should also be held accountable for this as well as being a Cospirator for allowing them to advertise and still with neg reviews, 'What is going on with America '.!

I would give a zero if I could. DO NOT order from these crooks. They sent a filthy completely stripped motor that was cracked. I’m still fighting to get my money back. They can’t speak English and CS is horrible. I wish I would have seen these reviews before I ordered

They sent me wrong engine for my 2014 jeep. After several phone call and emails with no response. They sent me a return label. Had freight company pick up engine. I thought they were exchanging engine for right one. NOPE!! They charged me shipping both ways plus restocking fees equal to $1350.00. They are crooked as hell!!!!!

Absolutely shocking company avoid at all cost, built a Cosworth engine for a rally car engine fail twice within 50 miles each. Lee took no responsibility for his terrible workmanship! And was difficult to deal with… had to take it to a proper engine builder engine is perfect now with no issues, just a shame it cost double the amount it should have to get a decent engine built. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!!

I had concerns after reading the reviews. I originally thought I had troubleshot and fixed my QUE engine for my Ford F150 5.0 Coyote. I kept getting P0303 Misfire on #3. It ran, and I could still feel the miss in it, but it wasn't coding, until a day later. Well, I took it to the mechanic that installed the motor, and 7 cylinders with compression of 150, and one with 85. #3 had been causing trouble since day 1. New plugs, coils, cleaned the MAF, new purge valve. Nothing worked. They claim that they compression test all engines. Obviously, that is a false statement on their website. I am already out labor costs I won't get back, and I don't even want to fix it again not knowing if the next engine I get will be any better, or worse. I filed a warranty claim. At this point, I am turned off of fixing it, and as soon as I get this resolved, my beautiful 2014 F150 is headed to the graveyard. It's really disappointing, but I'm not throwing any more money at an 11 year old truck, hoping that it eventually works out. I would proceed with caution when buying a used engine from anybody with a late model car or truck. If it's got an overhead cam, I wouldn't touch used again. You can't really rebuild them, and used engines are a crap shoot. I really wanted to give QUE a good review. Had they come through with what they promised...I would have. I mean, a compression test on my motor would have picked up one cylinder hitting at about half of the others, and it would have been sent to a reman shop for rebuild instead of to a customer for installation. Honestly, I won't touch a used engine again. Buying a used truck is less expensive in the long run. Though this isn't specifically Ford's fault the taste of Ford has also soured because of this. My 91,000 engine started knocking, and the engine I was quoted as having approximately 56,000 miles had a low compression cylinder. It will probably be the last Ford I buy or try to fix for a long time, if ever. But...I am loving my 2024 Chevrolet truck. If they make it right, I will add to the review. In reality, what is that? Well, getting me a good engine that was actually compression tested that has the actual miles stated, and having the junk engine replaced at no additional cost to me would be the optimal. I don't think I will hold my breath on that one. Just refund the cost of the motor, fully (no restocking fees, since it was faulty from QUE, and I installed it in good faith). Oh yeah. $650 for gaskets, seals, water pump, thermostat etc) all to put on a junk motor. Not gonna get that back either, and would have to buy all of that stuff again. But nope, I'm done with fixing it. I put a ton of money into it already, and I'm not going to do it again....ever!

***Update - Quality Used Engines made it right! They refunded the cost of the engine. I'm still out a ton for the install, but that was an understood risk. I still won't buy a used engine again, as the feeling of losing my truck is still very raw.
