Purchased my Mina bed 9/2022

Purchased my Mina bed 9/2022, received it end of October 2022. It was a bed that was made extra and they posted on ig stories to purchase and receive much quicker than ordering. I was so excited to receive this bed to elevate my space and client comfort. Unfortunately almost immediately it started hurting the back of clients heads, I thought it was just because it was new and “needed to break in.” I sent an email 2/2023 letting the company know it was hurting my clients and me. I had to lean so far over to even reach my clients my back started to really hurt. Courtney got back to me and said she had never had any of these complaints before. She offered to send me the head pillow and bolster, I accepted it hoping it would solve all my problems. I didn’t receive those until end of April, beginning of May 2023. At forget the bolster helped but the head pillow was worse it set me further away from my clients and tilted their heads away from me. My back pain became worse and worse. I reached back out February 2024 after seeing a live Courtney did saying she would help anyone with bed issues. Back and forth emails happened and I am stuck with a very expensive bed that hurts clients and me. I purchased a beauty bed, think the stuff we used in beauty school, and each and every client I have left has thanked me time and time again I made the switch. My back pain is getting better but I am in PT every week along with deep tissue massages and adding dry needling to help the pain that has been caused from my P&O bed. There is so much more to the bad customer service but I just wanted to let people know my honest review. Do not purchase this bed or anything from this company, they just want your money.

We are so sorry to hear that you didn't love your purchase with us. We really do encourage all customers to try out a Plush + Oak bed prior to purchasing to ensure that they love the design and are confident to the comfort prior to ordering a custom made item built to your specifications that cannot be returned. We have tried to work with you to find solutions, by sending you a bolster pillow and plush pillow which in our experience solves any comfort issues or client positioning issues. After we sent these items for free in 2023, we did not hear back from you for over a year and assumed these remedied your issues. When you reached back out to us this year in 2024, with your bed being 3 years old - we are extremely limited on what we can do as we had already shipped over $500 in free product to you over a year earlier and had not heard back.

We did offer to help you sell your bed locally to an artist as we never want you to be left with an item you do not like. You did not take us up on this offer. We don't really know what to say... we only sell one bed design, and 99% of our customers love it. We understand you did not enjoy it, but we do feel we have done everything to try and remedy your complaints. If we could custom make beds to every single artists unique specifications and measurements we would... but we only have one design and a very high satisfaction rate with them. We understand you did not love the item, but really all we can do is manufacture the beds our customers place orders for and keep our designs and manufacturing consistent for all customers.

We would encourage anyone reading this to find a local salon (we have 1700+ of them across North America), and test the beds out for yourself prior to ordering by booking a service with a provider who has one. These are made-to-order items to each customers preferred colour, material, and leg height, and are freight shipped on palettes so they cannot be returned to us. We really want every customer to absolutely love their salon bed, but we do encourage artists to try one to ensure they will be happy with it prior to purchasing to avoid experiences like the above.

Jennifer - we are sorry you didn't love the design and we are still here to help you sell it locally if you ever want us to assist you.

Hi Lisa,

We received an email from you about your new bed being stiff, and explained that the foam when brand new is firmer and will soften with time. This is a good thing. In upholstery, if you receive a product that is pillowy soft right upon arrival, it means that the item does not have proper compression and this will ultimately lead to the item losing shape and foam breaking down prematurely. Although most customers love the beds upon arrival, rest assured that after a few weeks of use your bed will relax into its proper state and will hold up for years to come because it is properly constructed for longevity.

So painful and they expect us women to just the same height?!

I had to ask the owner of the salon I go to about the beds I am on while getting my eyelash extensions done because of how horrible they are yet my eyelashes always look amazing thanks to the lash artist. With that being said, my neck and bottom of my skull hurt and throb so bad that it gives me a headache and neck strain for days. Regardless of the neck pillow they kindly put under my head and neck to help alleviate the pain. Yet I still find myself adjusting the neck pillow. You’re bed that you say is a one and all bed it is completely the opposite. I wish you would make a more comfortable bed that doesn’t hurt just me but others as well. How can you guys be okay with selling this bed? This is now reposted since my last review got deleted but here’s a picture of the bed that they expect you to not get a headache or bloody nose or have neck cramps and have all your blood go to your head if you’re lucky enough to have you knees reach the spot they expect you to be able to reach. Because we’re all the same height us women right? It’s just sad.

For different client heights we have accessories to address positioning including the Plush pillow (for added head softness) and the bolster pillow (to boost clients into whatever position they need to be in, and give lift out of the curve as needed). Immaculate beds and FAST and efficient customer servicing.

I placed my order for three nude Plush and Oak beds on January 15th 2024 and my beds arrived today February 19th 2024. I purchased these beds as the latest cancel culture chaos against P+O on Instagram originally ensued.

Not going to lie, I was SICK and so nervous about having just invested so much money into a company that has received so much backlash on social media. “Are the accusations true?” “Was this a bad investment?” “What if they come damaged?” “What if they arrive faulty and customer service ignores me?” — all due to again, this petty cancel culture.

Well, the beds arrived today and they are truly IMMACULATE. From the look of the beds online and from the recent “complaints” about the beds “not being comfortable” I was anticipating that the beds were going to be a hard, foam like material. (Assuming that’s why some complaints were initiated.) And I’m telling you, it is the polar opposite. The beds are *so* cushiony soft when you lay on them — the foam material beneath the beds faux leather material almost feels like it’s a fluffy, airy and soft cushion.

Our lash company went from using massage tables, to aesthetics beds, to recliners, to these Plush and Oak beds. Any complaints we’ve ever had regarding stiffening of the neck area during longer duration appointments would be a direct consequence of our artists not reminding our clients to move, stretch and adjust their placements every few minutes. I don’t care if you’re sleeping on a cloud — if you’re not moving your position every few minutes while laying flat, of course there will be pain points due to pressure and gravity pulling in those specific areas. Nothing a pillow, bolster, repositioning or extra support won’t fix.

I am so beyond thrilled that we invested in our new Plush and Oak beds. From the order placement, to fulfillment to delivery — everything has been so streamlined and professional… with a clear line of communication and gratitude throughout the entire process.

I’ll recommend these beds to all of my fellow lash and beauty professionals moving forward. I will also be purchasing another order with P+O for our location’s expansion in the spring.

Lastly, I hope at least one person uses our review as a reminder that content on social media isn’t always as it seems. Sure, every company has complaints and can’t please everyone — but the depths of malicious scrutiny P+O has undergone, all of which driven by a couple of select individuals, is astounding. This is not to say the genuine complaints given are invalidated — however, there’s a difference between genuine complaints and ill-intent slander. I’m glad I didn’t listen to the <1% of those who seemingly don’t even know what they’re complaining about. **(Thanks for dissecting my review, Lauren. Typo was adjusted. Hoping you find something better to do with your time other than stalking the review page for another company. I’m noticing it’s a pattern of yours to take something so minor and irrelevant and twist it to feed your own malicious narrative. Cheers!)

EDIT: We've discovered a solution: if you're debating whether or not to invest in the bed accessories, go for it. Every client who's used the bolster loves it; it helps them maintain proper elevation on the bed without straining their neck. While the pillows are aesthetically pleasing, not all clients favor them. Fortunately, they can be easily removed during appointments. They're somewhat stiff, and the incline for the neck area might not be gradual enough for everyone. Keep in mind the added height of the pillows when selecting bed leg height; I had to switch to shorter legs after adding them. Although the pillow does press against me while I lash, it's not uncomfortable. I just had to get used to it. It provides a convenient flat surface for my lash supplies, and I simply use a dental bib underneath to protect the fabric. Overall, I'd buy from Plush and Oak again. Their products are well made and at this point in time, they have improved their communication skills and customer service. However, I don't consider the bed accessories optional; they're an absolute necessity if you value and prioritize your clients comfort.

EDIT: I’ve been troubleshooting again with the company directly and we may have figured out a solution. I’ll update this review again after determining if the pillow and bolster accessories provide clients with more comfort. I will say that communication with Plush & Oak recently has been prompt and satisfactory.

My experience as a Plush & Oak customer has been disappointing. Communication problems persisted from fabric swatch requests to late shipping. The advertised ergonomic design fell short, leading to client discomfort. Despite spending over $4,000, the offered resolution of 25% off bolsters feels inadequate. Late responses and a lack of genuine resolution from the company contribute to an overall negative experience. While the products look luxurious, the reality of late deliveries, miscommunication, and discomfort for clients paints a less-than-satisfactory picture. This company seems to go back and forth in an argumentative way with dissatisfied customers, placing blame on their customers, rather than taking responsibility and acting with integrity. At this point in time, I absolutely suggest shopping elsewhere.

DEFECTIVE DESIGN & DISHONEST COMPANY

The dishonesty and gaslighting from the Founder of Plush and Oak regarding our purchase of 5 beds is beyond upsetting. It was the worst decision I have made for my team and my business. Come to find out, there are dozens of artists and salon owners experiencing the same frustration and disrespect that we did. The founder Courtney Buhler, has told several of us that they have never received comfort complaints before, thus making customers feel like a burden for complaining.
You can’t find honest reviews about these beds. The goal of my review is to give artists more clarity before spending $3-$4k on a lash bed. There isn’t a google or yelp page to post a review, or even a website to submit an HONEST review because Courtney removes negative reviews from their business website. She also has required artists/salon owners to sign an NDA band/or to delete their negative reviews to receive a resolution. This has prevented many customers from submitting a review or sharing their experience. She ignores messages and emails, and has turned off commenting on Youtube, deletes and blocks customers who turn to Instagram to comment with their frustrations. She even threatens a defamation lawsuit if you post your honest experience with Plush and Oak beds.
When discussing warranty options with Courtney, she offers many reasons you should forgive the flaws of the beds.
1. “It seems like you just don’t prefer this style of bed, that’s personal preference, not a defect.”
2. “Im pregnant and I can lay on the bed just fine”
3. “My fiancé is 6’ tall and he laid on the bed and he said it was comfortable”
4. “I laid on your replacement bed for 10 minutes and confirmed its perfect”
5. “You’ve had a bad experience and you’re not in the best headspace. You’re just going to look for any little thing wrong because of the headspace you’re in”
At the end of the day, the dip in the bed causes clients to sink away from you. When the client lays where it is comfortable for them, we cannot reach them, and we cannot see their lash line. When the client lays where we need them, with their head close to the edge of the head rest, they are extremely uncomfortable.
The beds are heavily flawed, they cause immense discomfort for clients and artists. We spent an absurd amount of money on remedies like pillows, bolsters, several new sets of bed legs, only to end up stripping the bed down to the frame and fixing the issue ourselves.
I have complete documentation and can back my review up 100%. This review doesn't even touch on the extent this purchase unveiled. Simply put, my strong advice is to avoid Plush and Oak at ALL costs.

You were the absolute first customer to ever have a comfort complaint with our company back in 2021. We took it so seriously, that we jumped on a video call with you to address your concerns. After not being able to get to the bottom of your concerns we (no questions asked) manufactured you 5 replacement beds and white glove shipped your current beds back to us for diagnostics. As we were using two manufacturers at the time, we determined there were some small variances within the two manufacturers construction of the beds (mainly, the compression level when pulling the foam on, which lead to a rise in the last flute and the headrest being thicker). Although the beds from the two manufacturers were slightly different - neither were determined to be "defective". However, because we value consistency in all of our products we stopped using our second manufacturer in 2022, and have been using our original in-house team ever since then. To even go above and beyond for our customers, anyone within the 5 month time frame (late 2021-early 2022) that had beds made by our second manufacturer - we sent them a pillow and bolster free of charge to ensure the rise in the last flute was not an issue. We really do stand by our customers experience.

We really feel we worked extremely hard to address your concerns, and despite losing $17,000 in providing you 5 brand new replacement beds and white glove shipping your original beds back to us - you still were not happy with even the new beds we sent you. We once again, offered to pick these replacement beds up for you and refund you your full amount for a second time - which you declined and stated you wanted to keep the beds. It seems you kept them and altered them (which is of course, your choice) but to say we didn't do everything in our power to assist you is simply not true.

We wish you the best, but this review is extremely misleading and does not portray the level of care and commitment we give to our customers.

Again, we want to encourage anyone who is thinking of purchasing a Plush + Oak bed to try them out in person before purchasing them. Although we have a 99% satisfaction rate, we cannot control artists personal preferences and there is not an item in the world (furniture or otherwise) that will please every single customer. We are pleased that so many customers absolutely love our beds, but situations like this can be avoided simply by booking a service with a provider near you that has the beds (we have over 1700 salons with Plush + Oak beds) and ensuring they are a good fit for you prior to ordering a custom made item.

Let me start by stating that when I decided to purchase this bed, I had experience with a variety of bed options. I started off with the beginner's massage table, then moved on to recliners, which were a hit with my clients. I had high hopes that this bed would strike the perfect balance between aesthetics and comfort for both myself and my clients. Unfortunately, my expectations were far from met.
This disappointment is hardly surprising, considering the company's questionable practices and concealing all negative feedback it receives from artists who have shelled out over $3,000 for this bed. The lack of credible reviews leaves hundreds of people investing their hard-earned money into a product that claims to be the last bed they'll ever need to buy. It promises plush comfort and luxury, but regrettably, that couldn't be further from the truth.
Your clients will inevitably complain about neck and head discomfort. Despite your best efforts to remedy this issue with countless pillows, the problem persists. The bed loses its "plush" appeal over time, and the company's solution? Their new $200 pillow or bolster, which does nothing to fix the underlying issue and is worse quality than an amazon pillow. The bed's design features an overly large dip that causes the client to slide downwards. Even if you manage to prop them up with a heavy cushion, they end up teetering on the edge of an excessively long bed, resulting in neck strain.
I deeply regret not having this knowledge prior to my investment. It feels unjust to see so many people lose significant amounts of money, along with the emotional distress caused by this product. It's baffling how the company continues to manufacture and market a product that has proven problematic for so many.
I don’t know how this company is able to keep producing an item that has cost so many people so much money, and both financial emotional distress. How do you continue to promote and continue selling lies to honest people when you know the NEGATIVE impact you’ve had on countless lash artists? I will never understand how people can be so evil. The best thing this company could do is apologize, refund us, and promise to be better in the future. We love your idea we hate the execution of it and we hate how you’ve dealt with all of this! It’s truly appalling to all of us. Please do better. Lash artists - don’t buy this bed. You would benefit more from buying a massage bed off of Amazon and getting a foam topper.

At Plush + Oak we do have a comprehensive 12-month warranty period which deals with any comfort issues, or quality concerns. From your comments above, it sounds like the addition of the Edda bolster pillow would be recommended to assist in client positioning options by lessening the dip for clients you feel are slipping to far into the bed curvature. We know that each bed that leaves our warehouse is well loved and received by 99.1% of our customers, but that ultimately artist positioning preferences or the addition of Plush + Oak accessories may be required to optimize the bed to your specific needs. Although we aim to meet and exceed every customers expectations, we are also realistic that there are personal preferences at play as well and there truly is no one bed fits all for 100% of our community. Would not recommend this company

Would not recommend this company. They’ve deleted my review on their website and that is very telling about their integrity. Speaking of which, their products really lack. The cheap $400 stool came with a Made in China sticker attached to the bottom.. the stool was so uncomfortable and hard. They should be shut down on false advertising alone. Order number #2005 #1986 #2256 yes, I’ve spent/ wasted over $3100 with this company. Biggest regret I have in my business to date.

Although we understand you are not satisfied with your bed, we are confident that we can find someone to purchase it for you so you can find something that aligns with your preferences better, and the buyer can try the bed in your salon to ensure they truly love it before purchasing. Love it!!

The lash bed is gorgeous and super comfortable. My clients love it! Took longer than expected to receive it, but it was worth the wait!

My salon has had five Plush and Oak…

My salon has had five Plush and Oak beds for over 2 years now, we love them and our clients love them even more. The company has been nothing short of amazing to work with, they even helped me sell the first bed I bought so we could change fabric colors to suit our current salon.

The bolster paired with the Edda makes all the difference, after posting a review, the customer care team reached out and offered me a bolster at no charge. Ive used it for a little over a week now, and the comfort issues have subsided for almost all of my clients. If your clients are laying for extended periods of time, I highly recommend the bolster:) if you’re also having comfort issues, reach out to p+o, the bolster feels like just the solution. Thank you p+o, I really appreciate it.

I purchased two beds

I purchased two beds. The beds are beautiful but there seems to be a huge issues with my clients necks and head positioning. They All complain that it is super uncomfortable. And most have to sit up during the appointment. There seems to be a weird gap in between the cushion for the bed and where their neck goes. Unfortunately after spending so much on the beds and being a small business I really don’t have the money right now to shell out on the pillow.

Was originally super disappointed in…

Was originally super disappointed in shipping which I had reached out about. Beautiful bed but started falling apart within two years despite proper cleaning and care. Was told to purchase some sorta kit from their manufacturer to fix it. Was also told it was MY FAULT for cleaning it with their recommendation on their website. Their comment below confirms. Pretty sad this company constantly blames customers for their product defaults. When buying my high end restoration hardware products I’ve never had to deal with that. Price tag is restoration hardware but service is McDonald’s.
Recommend looking at Facebook reviews as well. Company deletes any bad reviews when possible.
Also, have to use a pillow or clients and myself are super uncomfortable.

We have been corresponding with you about the issues you are having with your bed and have escalated it to the president of the material mill company we are partnered with. He confirmed that the brittleness has been caused by improper cleaner on the bed and/or chemical build up. The last message we sent you was that we wanted to arrange a video call to get further details on what products you have been using on the bed, as we need to launch a full investigation into the matter with our material team so we can find a solution with you. We have not heard back from you, but would still very much like to do this meeting as we have never received a complaint like this and our materials are high-performance commercial upholstery products which should not be wearing.

I will reach out again and hope to work with you to understand what chemical was used that would cause pre-mature aging of the material so we can understand better and find a remedy with you as it is extremely important that our salon beds hold up over time and we understand exactly what has happened to cause this after two years.

Plush and Oak is like the epitome of luxury meets comfort. These beds are so comfortable and they look even better! It is made so well and the attention to detail is next level, I would very highly recommend! Whether you want to spruce up your salon or just want to create a super cozy vibe, you can not go wrong with them. Their customer service is the absolute best in class and they truly care so much about their customers. Needs improvement for this Price

Overall Love the bed. However for the cost the headrest is horribly uncomfortable for all of my clients. So I bought a nice pillow from amazon that does not match the table. Shortly after purchasing I noticed they had one for sale… it’s $300 & my bed color is discontinued. Also for shorter clients the bed does not fit & needs a bolster to go behind their thighs.
With all of that being said, this bed is geared towards lash artists… lash artists need comfort for 2-3 hours & this bed needs a few adjustments when you’re dropping around $2000 apiece.
