New sofa loose cover
My old sofa loose cover had shrunk in the wash. I'm so pleased that I went to Plumbs to replace it. The staff were all friendly and highly professional. My new cover is more fitted and looks much better than the old one did, even before it shrank. I would advise you not to hesitate as long as I did - just get Plumbs in.

From start to finish everything went so smoothly. Michael was a great help from measuring my chair and explaining why how my chair would be transformed.

Ordered February delivered back August still waiting for arm covers. We realized that delay was caused by the fabric coming from Turkey but this should have been told to us when the order was taken.
All staff excellent in sorting the problem.

Billing issue
One chair was fine, but the second one was a recliner but the back cushion was creased. I did get a replacement one. I wasn't impressed when I ordered my second chair and the billing department notified me that I owed £400 something. I told them I didn't owe anything but was told to check with my bank anyway. I didn't and did not get back to them.. They didn't get back to me either, neither did they have the manners or courtesy to tell me they had made mistake. I paid in full at the time ordering.

We’re very sorry, however, for the confusion and inconvenience caused by the incorrect payment request when you ordered your second chair. Having paid in full at the time of ordering, you should never have been contacted to say that a further payment was due. We completely understand your disappointment that, having established this was an error, you were not contacted to apologise or confirm that the matter had been resolved. We agree that this should have been handled much better.
We sincerely apologise for the lack of communication and courtesy you experienced. Your comments have been shared with the relevant team so that we can learn from this and improve our processes.

Very Impressed
The company are employing excellent representatives if Lorraine the lady who came to take our order is comparable to the rest of the team. She was helpful in every way, very very efficient, kept in contact and due to the precision of her measuring up and advice on materials Plumbs have got a 10/10 from us, I was apprehensive to having my suite recovered as I had heard, a number of years ago, that recovering wasn't very successful but I have to say my opinion has changed 100%. The delivery and fitting was top notch once again due to Lorraine. She certainly deserves a huge pat on the back. A wonderful asset to your company

Very pleased with our "New" sofa
They've done an excellent job covering our old sofa. The new cushions are very comfy and the workmanship put into the new covers is second to none. It wasn't cheap (we did choose a high quality fabric) but it has saved us buying a new sofa, and we have effectively got a new one. Excellent work!

Expensive replacement covers not suitable for every day living!
Having had replacement covers for a 3 seater sofa and 2 seater sofa back cusions included ordered in December last year and replaced before Christmas I was shocked to find 7 months later a faint blue staining had occurred on the seat covers of one of the sofas. When I complained to Plumbs I was told they would investigate my complaint providing one of the cushion covers affected was returned. The representative told me they couldn't do anything until the fabric was tested in a laboratory. This felt very unsympathetic and at no point did I receive an apology. She did organise courier packaging to return the cover. Iasked what I should do in the mean time the agent told me to put a throw over the cushion pad which in my opinion is not ideal. I explained that I didn't believe the fabric was fit for purpose as the covers were relatively new, had very light usage and had been a considerable expense. | also explained I had a Multi York sofa which was vintage and the covers had been washed used etc many times and I had never had an issue with dye transfer.
I had to chase the outcome of the problem by phoning Plumbs, I asked to speak to the original representative but was told she was not available. I asked for a return phone call. I eventually received an email from a customer services manager who said 'findings show that there is no fault with the fabric itself, the issue has been identified as dye transfer from dark clothing onto the cover fabric.
As this is not a fault with our product, the item is being returned to you by courier, and we are unable to offer any further assistance in this matter'
This response showed a lack of empathy, there was no advice for me going forward with care of the covers. I would have expected some advice to be given and some apology, no Plumbs seemed uninterested. I now have to think very carefully about who in the family / guests sits where and also look at their clothing, as stated in the title 'not fit for every day life'. Did I feel valued as a Plumbs customer? Definitely not!

We appreciate that you had invested considerably in your replacement covers and, having been a long-standing Plumbs customer, were understandably disappointed to see staining appear after relatively light use. We also understand your frustration at having to chase for an update and that the communication you received did not leave you feeling valued as a customer.
While our investigation found that the staining was consistent with dye transfer from clothing rather than a fault with the fabric itself, we recognise that simply communicating the findings did not address the wider concerns you had about living with and caring for your new covers. We should have provided clearer advice and guidance on how to minimise the risk of this happening again.
We are sorry, too, that you did not receive the level of empathy and reassurance you expected from our team. Regardless of the outcome of a product investigation, we believe customers should feel listened to and supported.
Your comments have been shared with the relevant teams as valuable feedback on both our customer communication and the advice we provide when issues arise.

Another excellent Plumbs restoration
We have used Plumbs several times before as we have always been very pleased with the results. This time it was for new covers on two armchairs, a settee and a foot-rest. An appointment was made and the wide range of fabric choices presented to us were more than adequate! After we had chosen the fabric, Roy came to measure everything and then a few weeks later James arrived to fit them. Both were skilled professionals and we just left them to it. The whole process was just under 6 weeks and we are very pleased with the outcome. Put simply, what more could we ask for? Masses of fabrics to choose from, efficient, professional and courteous staff both in our home and at the head office and everything happened when it should have. We will use Plumbs again.

The local company were efficient and…
The local company were efficient and good and communicated well.
The finished article is a vast improvement on the original. In addition to the new covers I had new seat cushions made of feathers which I find more comfortable than man-made fibres.
The only thing I don’t like is that the fabric I chose is 20% polyester. I prefer natural fibres.

Delighted with the service and the results
I have thought about recovering my couch for many years but with a new extension having been built this became the perfect time to change colours and revamp. Barbara your Sales Rep called and helped us with fabric choices and colour ways to complement our new room. We also decided to get made to measure cushions for our dining chairs. The whole thing took 3 months to complete totally. Gary the fitter came and cut material to fit the couch and within 3 weeks had them back made up which I was delighted with. It has made a huge difference to the really comfortable but tired couch which now has a new lease of life. The cushions arrived this morning and again delighted with the workmanship and fit. I would highly recommend the company, forget the stretchy fitted covers of old, they are a company that you need to consider if reupholstering or loose covering your couches. They did a great job. As far as we are concerned it was worth the cost and we did not need to recycle a well made Duresta couch.
