DO NOT BUY FROM PSA STELLANTIS
DO NOT BUY FROM ANY OF THE BRANDS UNDER PSA OR STELLANTIS!!
The customer care is horrendous, 6 recalls in less than one year of ownership and then they expect you to take the day off work or pay for someone to collect the faulty car!
Have had 6 Peugeots and the quality is now through the floor and customer service even worse.
App does not work but you still have to pay!
Top to bottom absolutely appalling company!!
Got a recall notice for my 7 year old…
Got a recall notice for my 7 year old car, I called the recall helpline and was told they would tow the vehicle to the garage at their own expense. I found that unusual so asked for it in writing. She said no need to get it in writing as all calls are recorded. I subsequently spoke to Peugeot customer care who said that they would not be liable for any recovery costs and that I would need to pay. Called back the recall line, and they said they agreed with the customer care team and that I am liable for all costs. Not only that but he was very rude and unprofessional. Absolutely disgraceful customer service and full of liars who'll say anything to get rid of you.
Peugeot e-3008
Peugeot e-3008 - a £50k with a phone that only works if you are prepared to pay. Shame really, a decent car but no use whatsoever if you don’t pay the annual fee to connect to your phone. We’ve had many modern cars and never have we had to pay to get basic info in the app. 6 months free then you’re cut off from the car - very poor in this tech age.
Cam chain
I bought a peugeot 308 in 2020 and at 45k miles the cam chain went costing near 4k, bought a second car in 2023 and in February that cam chain went costing nr 2k.
Peugeot have dismissed everything and unwilling to compensate to the the fault they know about.
They install a 7mm cam chain when it should be an 8mm, they are aware of the issue but pass it off to the customer. Absolutely disgusting service and I for 1 will be going to the ombudsman and potentially court as its a recurring fault... thanks peugeot
Peugeot Starting Worcester caused us…
Peugeot Starting Worcester caused us many Problems with Lies, Very Poor Customer Service on their Reception, was told by the Boss that he had sorted it by Sacking some and Shuffling others around, the Main Culprit was a WILL STALLARD who I found out is still there in the same Position, and the one who told Lies causing us many issues.
So be aware of him, the boss also gave me false information as above.
A Natalie Bryant requested information from me but her contact Domain is Blocked, have sent details through Worcester to be passed on, as of now it appears not.
!!!!LOYAL FAITH IN PEUGEOT DRAINED AWAY!!!!
!!!!LOYAL FAITH IN PEUGEOT DRAINED AWAY!!!!
Loyal faith in Peugeot drained away! My daughter had her Peugeot 308 serviced regularly at Charters Aldershot. January 2025 had issues with her windscreen wipers. AA called and reported battery problem. Car taken to Charters Aldershot with AA report for investigation and rectification. Bill of £607.12 paid. (Rectification included a battery of £277.79 exc. VAT with a guarantee of 12 months - many car organisation battery charges could be significantly less with a 3 year guarantee.) Several days later in January 2025 same fault occurs and so returned to Charters Aldershot for rectification. Charters Aldershot then proposed a bill of £607.12 for rectification. Considered a total bill of £1,060.47 excessive for what was thought to be a fairly minor issue. Thus, proposed further rectification work from Charters Aldershot de declined.
In attempting contacting Peugeot UK Coventry, wrote recorded delivery to Martin Page Company Secretary. Delegated to complaints department who maintained diagnostic test costs satisfactory. Cutting a long story short required to submit AA report twice and in following up with several letters as no response forthcoming wrote again recorded delivery to Martin Page Company Secretary. Complaints delegate apologised for lack of responses and in so doing suggested a return approach to Charters Aldershot and possibly a referral to the Motor Ombudsman.
Thought the saga above would be uncommon. However, now having seen reviews on this site and information gleaned from other sources it would seem that Peugeot Dealerships and Peugeot UK are not duly concerned about Customer Care. Please be warned about buying or repairing Peugeot models.
I have a Peugeot 3008 GT 5 year old…
I have a Peugeot 3008 GT 5 year old only had it a year and been in garage 5 times, 4 for a Adblu fault and one for the chain. Today the engine warning light has come on for the adblu again, bought from Arnold Clark and they don’t know what they’re doing, been repaired by Peugeot Sherwood’s who don’t care 🤷♀️ would never buy another Peugeot again 😡😡
Peugeot e-3008
I have owned three new models since 2019. First one bought was 5008 gt diesel, fantastic car, second was bought in 2022 a 308 sw, again a great car, third was bought in2023, again a very good car, but wo is me I decided to buy the new e-3008 gt in December last.
What a terrible £50,000 of total let down.
Carried out the usual software updates as recommended but alas things started to go wrong, firstly the ivi unit packed up and duly returned to dealer on 8th July 2025 which has taken until today to be installed to now be told that after they fitted it the reversing camera has ceased to work.
This car was the GT model with some extras fitted at the time of ordering, what a terrible car.
I was told that as I purchased a brand new model in the Peugeot range that was only to be expected, suffice to say that I will probably not be buying another Peugeot, certainly not in their ev line up.
AVOID PEUGEOT – Dangerous Cars, Dishonest Staff, and a Customer Service Team That Couldn’t Care Less
Peugeot and Sherwoods Durham are an absolute disgrace. I bought a 2020 Peugeot 208, and it’s been nothing but a string of serious issues and complete indifference from everyone involved — from the dealership to Peugeot UK’s so-called “Customer Care.”
Just two months after buying the car, the timing belt was disintegrating into the engine, causing the car to cut out while driving. A serious safety risk. When I reported it, I was told to keep driving and that it was just because “it was cold.” That turned out to be complete rubbish — there were known timing belt issues and even recalls on my model. They put me and others at risk through sheer negligence.
Now, the blower motor is failing. It’s making banging and popping noises, the fan doesn’t respond properly, and you can literally see the motor pulsating on camera. I’ve had multiple independent garages tell me they’ve never seen anything like it and that it’s clearly a mechanical defect — and yet Peugeot refuses to help unless I pay out of pocket for a diagnosis. That’s insulting, given the circumstances.
I contacted Peugeot UK Customer Service, thinking someone would take this seriously. Instead, I was spoken down to, dismissed, and treated like a nuisance. I gave them proof of my phone calls to the dealership (who lied and claimed I never contacted them) and even referenced the recall notices, and now? They’re completely ignoring my emails — conveniently silent now that they’ve been caught lying.
Let’s be real: they know I’m right. That’s why they’re ducking responsibility. They’re clearly hoping I’ll give up — but I won’t. I’ve already submitted a case to the Motor Ombudsman, and I’m making sure as many people as possible know just how disgusting their service is.
This was my first car. And instead of being supported as a customer, I was taken advantage of — lied to, fobbed off, and put at risk by a manufacturer and dealership who don’t care one bit.
If you’re reading this and thinking of buying from Peugeot — don’t.
Avoid Sherwoods Durham. Avoid Peugeot UK. Avoid being ripped off and put in danger.
Avoid . Customer service is abysmal.
Unbelievably poor customer service when dealing with an unbelievably poor My Peugeot app. Had car a week and won't connect . Pretty much need to with an EV. Daily having to send them the same screen shots . Going around in circles. Spoke to customer services who spoke to me like I was stupid and wouldn't help further. Regretting getting a Peugeot now .
Avoid like the plague!
From customer service to Warranty without a doubt the worst and i would steer well clear of this brand (unless you happen to be driving the brand, then you won't be "steering" anywhere). I have a fleet of their vans and have nothing but trouble, then when you expect warranty they spend almost a month whilst holding your vehicle, arguing that you have used the wrong oil when servicing. When you prove you have used the oil specified on the official Peugeot letter and handbook received with the vehicle, they say they changed it! They cannot show you where they notified you of this change, in fact they ignore the request entirely.
Legal action on the way.
Please stay away from this brand…
Please stay away from this brand customer service is bad, wet belt issues they make you jump over so many loops as they app doesn’t show the service —- as soon as it is fixed i will sell this car and never have anything to do with them… they even cannot control their branches- how come
Worst Customer Care
Bought a brand new Peugeot 208 less than 2 years ago and developed an engine fault due to a faulty engine control module. Peugeot customer care were absolutely useless and and have no degree of care. I have been left without a courtesy car (3 weeks now) and no prospect of my car being repaired due to parts shortage/back order. Contacted customer care multiple times a week being promised a call back with no response. Absolutely disgusting service. How can they knowingly sell a faulty vehicle and when the vehicle becomes faulty, leave their customers in the lurch? Absolute fraudsters and will never be purchasing another Peugeot. Cannot wait to be rid of my Peugeot ASAP.
Excellent service vertu derby
Excellent service.
from Robert ,Poppy, Stacey and the rest of the staff at vertu derby.
Having had a few issues at another peugeot dealer. It was refreshing to deal with a team that had the ability to use its initiative when dealing with an issue to create a solution rather than to perpetuate a problem.
The staff kept me informed on the state of my vehicle. And I received vehicle back in timely fashion. With all work completed .
I would have no hesitation in recommending vertu peugeot derby to family and friends . And would certainly recomend making the short journey along the A52 to deal with a professional outfit ,rather than having to deal with absolute clowns at stellantis peugeot nottingham.
Keep up the good work ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Save your money. Don't buy Peugeot.
I bought a Peugeot (2016) 2008 family style SUV which turned out to be one of the biggest mistakes of my life.
I bought the car as my wife and I were expecting our first child and the car seemed, on paper, a good family car.
I got the car for £8,000 with 35k miles on the clock. Over a period of a year and a half, I had to chuck close to a thousand pounds (£1k) at the car because the parts are made of chocolate!!
Within a year and a half, the vehicle needed:
- AC regassing
- Strut top mount x 2 (both sides)
- New exhaust bracket
- Drop Links x 2
- Brake pads and discs
- Major service
- New tyres x 2
After all this, I was driving the vehicle on a dual carriageway and the engine burst out in white smoke.
Garage said the engine had a whole in it caused by a faulty with the wet belt in the engine.
Peugeot state the wet belt needs to be changed every 10 years or 100k miles. My car was still within these but it was a well-known fault that the wet belt in these cars were faulty and degrade incredibly quickly.
Peugeot knew/know this and decided NOT to recall any of these vehicles and instead, extended the warranty of their engines. However, they've done this as a clever way to avoid doing the work as they refuse to do the work unless the work is just to repair the wet belt and the car requires to be serviced absolutely perfectly by a peugeot garage each year pn the dot (which they know would be rare for a customer to do).
My car was serviced every single year and peugeot refused to honor the warranty on the faulty engine as one service was done 2 months after the due date and the fact the car was never serviced by peugeot themselves as they didn't know if the correct oils were used each time. Absolute Bollocks!
So, the car needed a new engine which was around 3k-3.5k. The car was worth around £4,000 then if I sold it privately so I scrapped the car for £700 and still have a £5,000 bank loan to pay off which I took out to originally get the car. I now need to pay that off and get a new car whilst I have a new born baby and with my wife is on maternity.
What can you conclude from my experience? DON'T BUY FRENCH!!!
The quality is so poor and designed with faults everywhere and the manufacturers dont give a toss and try everything but to recall vehicles so they keep more money.
Me and my family will never buy French vehicles again and we will actively try to discourage others from doing so. Shameful.
Peugeot 3008 with less than 25,000 miles engine failure 12 pages of error messages and a huge bill
I am writing to let every potential consumer that is interested in buying a Peugeot 3008 (one with a wet belt) my extreme dissatisfaction and frustration regarding a significant and costly engine failure on my Peugeot 3008, which has only covered under 25,000 miles and is just four years old. This issue resulted in the complete dismantling of the engine and a repair bill exceeding £3000. Furthermore, I have yet to recover the car from the dealership. This prolonged delay leads me to question if the 12 pages of computer error messages are preventing them from being able to repair the vehicle.
What is particularly galling is my understanding that this engine issue is a known manufacturing defect within Peugeot vehicles. Despite this, Peugeot’s “Goodwill Department" has inexplicably refused to offer any goodwill contribution towards the repair costs, effectively abandoning me, a loyal customer, to bear the financial burden of what is fundamentally Peugeots manufacturing fault.
Peugeots refusal to acknowledge and act upon a known manufacturing issue demonstrates a shocking disregard for customer satisfaction and product quality. Looking at online reviews, it appears that this engine damage, is a direct result of the engine design to accommodate the wet belt. It seems this engine is riddled with issues. Are Peugeot selling cars that even mechanics struggle to fix? A question: how would any of us cope with 12 pages of error messages from our Peugeot 3008? Personally, I feel sick!
It seems Peugeot do not look after their existing customers and reading through Trustpilot reviews I am not alone, with my experience of my Peugeot 3008 I would say avoid the purchase and don’t be treated like the existing 85% on this review website.
Update July 2025: Good news: After some communication, Peugeot agreed to repair the 3008 and waive all charges. I'm pleased with the outcome, despite the initial stress of the situation.
Fantastic service
Fantastic service, we had numerous questions and queries. All addressed fully. Nothing was a problem we were not rushed or pressured.we were treated with respect throughout and the sales person JOSH was excellent his professionalism and customer care service shone through.
Peugeot refuse to honour the warranty
My 3008, still under warranty, displayed an engine management warning light, which then went away after a few 10s of miles. I called Peugeot who told me to take it in to a dealer to get it checked out. The dealer couldn't find a fault, and charged me for the investigation. Peugeot refuse to pay for the investigation because there was "no fault".
Let's be clear: even if the light was a false positive, that is a fault. Not recording the fault in the log is also a fault.
If you can't trust the manufacturer to do the right thing, then don't use them again. So this is my first Peugeot and now my last.
Common Fault, No Recall?
Had an e208 for 3 years when the air conditioning was noticed to not be working. Had it re-gassed at a cost of £180. Exactly 12 months later (to the day) and it was back in the garage because it was not working again. £670 later it needed the condenser replacing. 10 days later and it is not working again. It has only on 23k miles so do not consider this excessive use. Last year it was within the extended warranty period. This year not. Looking online, it looks like this is a common fault with older models so why no recall? Not impressed.
