Went to Petco today and talk about price gouging, I went to purchase water conditioner for fish tanks. The same size bottle and brand cost $16.99 plus tax at Petco and cost $8.99 at Country Max. The don’t price match other store prices, I do have photos of the prices from both stores

I would give them less than one star if I could!! My Golden Retriever Service dog had her nails clipped today, and I watched through the window. The groomer was struggling to trim/drimmel her nails and leaned against my dog pushing her off the grooming stand leaving her struggling to hang on to their metal grooming table, while hanging by her neck!! The groomer struggled with lifting her back up onto the table and instead of calling for help, continued to try to lift her back up onto the table, while my dog was hanging by her neck! My husband was about to run in there, when she finally got her up on the table.
This should NOT have happened. I'm so upset! I can't find anywhere on their website to file a complaint!
I will NEVER use their services again!

I just left Petco in tears after seeing a helpless, lifeless, almost dead frog in a small plastic container being sold as a desk pet!

When I got in my car, I immediately emailed customer service, but of course it bounced back saying no one checks the emails. I emailed the ethics email and any other email I could find for Petco but they all bounced back, stating they were not delivered or not monitored. Since Petco is only interested in money, not the welfare of their own animals, I thought maybe I would get an actual response on other platforms.

Have you all lost your minds at Petco? I will never shop here again, this is so wrong. You need to take a very close look at your morals and ethics of what you’re doing here. I’m sitting in my car, crying for this tortured little creature and trying to have a voice for it. I just signed a petition against this, and I encourage others who care about animal welfare to do the same. Just google Petco desk frog petition and it will come up. Many people who love animals will NOT stand for this.

Workers at Petco, I would rethink working for a company that can be this cruel against another living thing without any thought of it being wrong. This will corrupt your own life if you do nothing and say nothing and put your head in the sand. Speak up for these poor animals that have no voice. Threaten to walk out as a team, do not stand for this nonsense.

Shame on you Petco. Do better, be better.

Petco has to be the worst company to ever deal with! I purcashed a dog cage it sat in Braselton Ga for three days and now it sits in California and will be 2 weeks late !!!! I’m done last time I ever order from petco again ! Customer service is dumb as a box of rocks

I have decided that I will not shop at Petco again. I have noticed over the last year or so how predatorial Petco is their prices have tripled on some items and the quality has diminished.

Bringing my dog into be groomed with an appointment. 2 other people came in after us, they get registered and dog taken to the back. Our appt.at 10, he didn't get taken to the back until 10:15. After having a discussion about the length of his haircut, he was STILL skinned !!!!! He is excitable I'll admit, but shouldn't groomers know how to deal with this? This isn't the first bad hair ut, but I gave them another try, DON'T bother!!!!!!! Please don't! This is the Speedway petco in Indianapolis.

1 week-- Your food is lost in translation-his words verbatim. Do you still want the food... Hmm what do you think?! My dog will probably get upset when I tell him Petco said my food was lost in translation, and thought I might not want it.

Petco grooming is a joke. Appointment made on Labor Day. Scheduled for 8am. SEVERAL appointment reminders were texted to me the day before and including on the day of. My local Petco is not close, 30 minutes away. When arriving at Petco, doors were closed and locked. No one to be found at 8am. Checked the app where my appointment updates were and appointment was suddenly cancelled. No notice, no text alert, no call. Terrible, horrible customer service. I would NEVER recommend them to anyone for grooming.

The sales lady younger girl was th3 best helper. Took time and was very knowledgeable. But the store in columbia missouri smelled awful. It was as though no on3 cleaned cages. Awful had to leave and didn't purchase a thing.

Dont do it! ordered online prescription, waited 10 days only to be "refunded" without explanation. Product was out of stock, but they let me jump through the ordering hoops anyway. I will never buy from them again.

I didn't think something as simple as clipping my dog's nails could go so wrong. The only reason I gave 1 star is you can't select negative. This was at the 7279 Watson location. Before I went I looked online and it said that you cannot make an appointment for walk-in services. When I got there the rude girl asked if I had an appointment, whereas I explained the website protocol. She said we like you to call. She then asked for my number. I gave it and it wasn't under that. I then looked up my wife's number and it was there. I said all I wanted was my dog's nails cut. She printed out a receipt that included buffing. I told her I did not want the buffing. She said it was what I got last time. I said you didint ask me and I said I just wanted the nails. She became rude and said she would not do my dog. I asked for a manager, he came over and asked her what happened to which she lied and he told me they wouldnt service my animal. I suggested he should have asked me, the customer, what the problem was first. I will never do business with this company again.

I went in for a nail clip. They were not able to complete the job because puppy too wiggly.I understand their need to refuse service. However I will not be returning because I was treated rudely.

Shopping while Black. I was at the Petco in Auburn New York (#02784) between the hours of 6:45pm and 7:00pm. The employee (not the one who has purple hair) followed me around the store and positioned herself so she could watch me. This occurred from the time I walked in and stopped and sung to the birds yo the time I went to pick out cat food in the back of the store and when I was looking for cat toys. There are way too many alternative places to shop to be harassed while shopping. She acted like she was putting things away, everywhere I went. It’s an age old trick. If I wanted to steal something I would send in a white person who would get away with stealing everything but the animals—per a white woman I know who had walked out of stores with racks of items because the store employees are too busy watching Black people to watch her. I have my own business and I have a Masters degree. I would NEVER give anyone the satisfaction…but I will NEVER shop at your store again.

Spent $994.50 on a Bird Cage from AE cages via the Petco website. I immediately cancelled the item but due to it being via a vendor (AE cages) it was to be delivered anyways. Prior to delivery FedEx freight reached out and I informed them that the package was going to be returned. FedEx freight said they would hold the package and work on the return on my behalf. Petco showed the item as delivered on their website, however FedEx had updated the tracking info. Eventually the return made it back to AE Cages. I had confirmation from both AE Cages and FedEx, however Petco held my money and “thanked me for my patience.” After 40 days of multiple email exchanges and phone calls (the Petco phone operators would tell me they advanced my issue to a higher level and they would reach out to me in 24-48 hours, that happened twice and nobody ever reached out.) I reported the issue to my bank and submitted a fraud claim. Immediately, within 24 hours, my money was back in my account and nobody ever reached out. It took a fraud claim to get my money back from Petco online. I love the cage and am thankful to AE Cages and FedEx freight.

This company needs to stop offering shipped products as they cannot ship reliably/timely. 2 orders placed, 2 problems with delivery & missing items. Heed these reviews & go elsewhere.

They sent me an order that I never did , so I took the items to the store and return, they did accept the return but was told I have to call cus- service for the shipping cost , wonder why they made mistake like this and you have to pay for the shipping

I was disappointed previosly. I am pleased to say they finally honered my return. Thanks Petco.

Very concerning experience with Petco grooming and management.

I have taken my dog, Happy, to San Ramon Petco for grooming for years. Recently, my relative took him to Ygnacio Valley Petco with a list of what I wanted done.

Groomer and manager Sabrina refused him. Sabrina first said I was asking for too much to be done in 1½ hours. I said they could take as long as needed. She then changed her reason and said the groomer “doesn’t connect with you and your dog.” The groomer had never met me or groomed Happy.

Sabrina also said the groomer was a “private business” and could refuse service. I later asked several Petco stores and was told groomers are Petco employees.

She then brought up Christie, a former groomer who always did a wonderful job with Happy, and told me, “I was her manager and I fired her.” I don’t understand what firing a former employee had to do with my dog’s appointment.

Sabrina also said San Ramon had a note that I complained before. Yes, ONE time. After grooming, Happy had several scratches, including one large enough to concern me. San Ramon asked me to bring him back and gave me ointment. I continued taking Happy to the SAME store afterward without a problem.

During my conversation with Sabrina, she also asked me, with an attitude, why I came to “our store.” I found this inappropriate and upsetting.

Another concern was that nobody from the Ygnacio Valley store called me or my relative before Happy arrived to cancel or refuse the scheduled appointment. Happy was brought to the store for the appointment, and only then were we told that the grooming service would not be provided. This unnecessarily wasted our time and could have been avoided with a phone call before the appointment.

After Ygnacio Valley refused Happy, I called San Ramon. Caitlin said I could bring him there. She groomed him and I was very happy with her service.

Since June, I have called Petco Customer Service 4–5 times asking for an investigation. Each time I was promised a callback. Nobody called.

On August 20, I called South Main for a nail appointment and was shocked to learn there was a flag on my account and they would not accept Happy.

I contacted Customer Service again and learned the district manager was at the Ygnacio Valley store. A supervisor promised the regional manager would call within 24 hours on August 21. Nobody called.

Even more confusing, two days ago I was specifically told that because Happy had already been going to San Ramon, I could continue taking him there.

Today I called San Ramon asking for Ed. Daniel, an Assistant Manager, answered and insisted he could help. He repeatedly cut me off and was rude and dismissive. Daniel said I had already spoken with “all those managers” and could no longer bring Happy to San Ramon or ANY Petco.

That is not true. I have NEVER spoken with any of these managers except Sabrina.

I asked Daniel which managers he meant and for Ed’s schedule. He would not answer and kept saying, “Have a good day,” while I was trying to get answers.

So two days ago I was told I could continue using San Ramon. Today I was told I cannot take Happy there or to any Petco.

I called Customer Service again and spoke with Victor in Premier Support. I requested an independent corporate investigation. Victor said the general manager, district manager and other managers had already given their input.

How can these managers give their input about me when I have NEVER spoken with any of them except Sabrina?

Nobody called to hear my side or explained what was being put on my account. Yet managers I have never spoken with apparently gave their input, my account was flagged, and now my dog is being refused service.

From my experience, it appears these managers may be protecting or covering for each other instead of providing a fair, independent review.

I want Petco Corporate to investigate Sabrina, the general manager, district manager and everyone involved. Who flagged my account? Who approved it? What was written about me and Happy? Why was I told I could use San Ramon and two days later told I cannot use any Petco?

Customers should be able to report an injury or complain about treatment without fearing they will later be refused service.

Based on my experience, I would not take my dog to Ygnacio Valley for grooming. I understand this location will be closing permanently soon. Regardless, I believe Sabrina and the general and district managers involved should be independently investigated by Petco Corporate.

I am so disappointed in Petco grooming when I brought in Harvey I was very specific in what not to do. the person who groomed him just took a razor and cut all his hair. No trimming around the eyes or face and they just shaved everything off instead of actually grooming him. They did absolutely nothing no grooming at all to his tail either. The Manager Matthew is a horrible example of a manager he was the person I spoke to when I brought him in. Horrible horrible job done by this Petco much ado to the horrible Manager Matthew he doesn’t even look the same to just be lazy and take a razor and shave all the hair around face and body what a shame

My dog Leah was scheduled for a bath and deshedding. She is a Pry, and had some knots of fur on her butt. They told me theywould have to shave some of it off, I agreed. They shaved her butt and underbelly and made a mess of it, my dog looks like crap. I paid $150 for that. I called them and complained, they did nothing to help.
