They act as if they know what is going on but after selling me a "harmless" urchin it killed one of my fish and my shrimp costing roughly $70 plus dollars and am I just diappointed in the lack of knowledge by the staff.

t was our first time to the Petco vet clinic with our Yorkie, I arrived and waited 10 min to be served. She was busy!! She asked for my name and asked what time I arrived being honest and too old to be lying I told her I arrived at 935..( 930 appt) She said I cannot find you,, I then gave her my wife's name who made the appt. she then checked and told me I was late so they cancelled my visit (really by 5 min) but hey I understand. She then said I would be taken as a walk in and had to wait, I responded no problem I'm here Thank you.. I was then asked if there was any way she could talk to my wife, because she made the appt and needed her authorization. I explained she was working and does not respond to her messages until lunch time. She then responded that she would not be able to care for our dog until she authorized it because she made the appt. I will admit I was starting to get annoyed, but I kept my composure and then responded my 930 appt was cancelled you just finish telling me I'm a walk in so here I am new appt with me!!! 2. If you check my dog's microchip it's my name not my wife's info, Sorry still cannot help you, at which time I said no problem your company's loss on 400 dollars of shots and a new customer!!! Petco policy not top notch, their loss will never return with my Dog!!!

I paid over $800 upfront to enroll my four cats in Vital Care Premier, specifically for the monthly rewards. A few months later (January), Petco gut the program benefits and sent out one single email notification. Because that email hit my spam folder, I missed their tiny 30-day "refund window." I didn't even realize I’d been scammed until my March rewards just stopped showing up. It is absolutely predatory to change the terms of a contract that a customer already paid for in full and then expect them to just eat the loss.

Trying to get a refund through their standard channels was a total nightmare. The phone support is a dead end and their email team ghosted me for a month despite me following up almost daily. They even tried to lowball me with a pathetic $120 "compensation" offer when they owed me hundreds. I finally had to go nuclear and email the CEO, Corporate Relations, and the Head of Product directly just to get someone to pick up the phone. Within 24 hours of emailing the executives, I got my $600 back. Don’t waste your time with their "support" lines—they clearly don't care about their loyal customers until you threaten their leadership.

Edit: my prorated refund should not only be 600. They charged me 70+ dollars more because they charged me 24.53 for the months I used instead of $17.99 which includes multiple pet and annual discounts. Had to reach out to them again and explain the whole math to get my money back. What a scam.

We recently moved to Arizona from Oregon. We have taken our dog to the groomers in the Kaiser Station Petco. They were amazing never had any concerns. Never had any problems with our dog. That's why we chose to go to Petco in Arizona the service that we received at this Petco in Goodyear, Arizona was terrible. They got our dog at 1 o'clock and we didn't pick him up till 5 o'clock and they said that they couldn't even finish grooming him. I charged us the full price of $100 but they didn't do his nails. They didn't brush his teeth. They didn't do any of those things because they said he was too difficult and we wouldn't be able to bring him back. I spoke highly a Petco because of how well they did with our dog in Oregon Goodyear, Arizona Petco do better.

TERRIBLE PLACE! This is a review of the Farmington Hills, Michigan store. I wholeheartedly agree with so many of the other reviewers who mention how appalling the staff are here. They are arrogant and rude, especially Jennifer, the manger who knows absolutely nothing about customer service. They groomed my dog terribly...cut off all the hair from his beautiful long tail. My husband was furious. I asked for specific things they outright ignored. I asked to keep his tail long. His ears look like a page boy. He looks embarrassingly awful...like someone chopped his hair who has no experience. Also, as many others reported, they will turn you away for reasons that aren't legitimate because they are lazy and think they can pick and choose what dogs they want to groom. How about just doing your job instead abusing your right for discretion to refuse service? How do people in this country become managers without proving themselves to be worthy of that position? Petco, as a corporation, it is incumbent upon you to investigate and reevaluate your hiring practices. Too many people are reporting problems and you should not ignore good paying customers! We are trying to keep you in business and support our local businesses, but when you hire terrible managers like Jennifer it makes us want to go elsewhere.

Freehold NJ store. Totally unhelpful staff. 1 person running the floor and register. Website said item was in stock, but was not on the shelf. After looking for someone to ask, I finally went to the register clerk. He looked in the back for 2 minute,then exclaimed the item was not there. He just walked past without any other interaction. Guess that man bun was an indicator of the outcome of my experience at this location.

Went to their vet clinic just to be able to get prescription for flea meds. For $68 Instead of getting a the meds or even a prescription, I was told it would be emailed to me which was a lie. I clicked on the link they send but it says no prescriptions available. I could see and print the visit but it refused to print the script part. I went back to the store who said they couldn’t help and sent me to another store that said well that particular vet isn’t there so they can’t honor another vet’s prescription and call another number. What a run around just to pay their extortion to get flea meds to begin with. Go anywhere else and god help u if u need a prescription.

Site does not work. It claims my email AND my order number do not exist. On top of that, the pills I usually order went from 80 tabs to 60 in the SAME SIZE BOTTLE. Total bait and switch ripoff.

I ordered new dog food for my dogs. It gave one of them diarrhea so I immediately stopped using it. I called customer service in the hopes of a refund or at least an online credit. My "case" has to be reviewed and was supposedly expedited. It's been days and I still haven't heard back.
I'll stick to ordering from Chewy. They're customer service is amazing. Shame on Petco.

Dear every petco that exists... Your staff never has knowledge on the pets you sell.... Half the time the conditions of your animals are incorrect and none of your staff has the proper education on captive wildlife as they didn't have to go to college to study it for the job... The job of petco employees is to make sales regardless not properly educate owners on proper care... All they know is marketing not the health and safety of the animals... Chameleons for example if you knew anything about them you would know they don't survive long in captivity nor should they ever be in an enclosure with another chameleon that's a death sentence they are independent creatures that don't belong as a pet and if you did your research you wouldnt continue to sell them but all you care about is making sales like I said not the wellbeing of animals... You guys should consider rebranding or not be allowed to sell living animals..

Petco Vital Care is an unethical rip-off. They refuse to allow you to cancel, even if you can't use the promoted discounts (such as the grooming discount). If the Petco groomers say they are unable to groom your dog due to anxiety or any other reason, Petco will still not let you cancel the Vital Care membership. The grooming discount is the reason many people choose to subscribe for this program, and when the discount is not an option for you due to the groomer's inability to groom your dog, then you can't cancel. That is corrupt and unethical. If you can't use the stated discount, you should be allowed to cancel. Now, I am paying every month for a membership that does nothing for me. Horrible ethics and terrible customer care/support.

A mistake was made as per my cancelling of my order and they have compensated me very nicely. I not only received a package of Tummy Essentials for my babies but they took half off of the price of the last order that I received. I will use them again for my pets when I need something. Great company for sure!!

I've been fighting for over a week now trying to get my four dog's Heartgard and Bravecto filled. I have received nothing but a the runaround and not one single person knows what they are doing. I used Vetco for my dog's vaccines and was provided prescriptions for said medications that I have been trying to fill. They are still waiting for "approval" for prescriptions that their vets provided. You can't even fax said prescriptions to them that are viewable in Petco's Pet Portal. $600 plus in vaccine's and health check and can't fill the $800 plus prescriptions that they provided. TAKE YOUR PETS ANYWHERE BUT PETCO AND VETCO!!!!

Online ordering.... system refusing to give me the repeat delivery discount. Keeps charging me 25 percent more. Tried twice to chat and neither service member helped. They might as well have actually said OH WELL.... One blamed it on 'maybe a glitch in the site' and the other spouted out the standard 'yes we have that size can and you are able to buy it' instead of addressing my inability to even FIND the correct can size, as there is NO SEARCH for can size!

At the time I placed an online order I was told it would be delivered in three days. It's now two weeks later and I can't get any estimate if when it might be shipped or delivered. I can't cancel the order online. The website keeps wanting you to use chat for customer service, but it isn't really cht. It's a help faq made to look like one. It was very easy to let them take your money for goods they can't deliver, but hard to get your money back or an estimate on when your order will be shipped. I should have stuck with Prime and saved myself the hassle.

There was a super nice person named von she was really helpful in my time there. Definitely coming back in the future

It forces you to make an account or give an email to checkout as a guest. I already have an account, so can't use my email to checkout as a guest. But the Petco website's "sign in" portal takes you to the "create account" portal. When you put in your account info and it tells you that you have an existing account and to sign in, this other "sign in" prompt still takes you to the "create account" portal. It is impossible for me to order anything online.
