Please, please avoid Sandylands Park in Ayrshire.
In an industrial estate next to a slaughter house and the most depressing, soulless holiday park I've ever seen. In a major state of disrepair. The main complex is like something from an 80s horror movie.

Very misleading pictures online of a lovely looking pool full of smiley, happy children and in reality the "pool" is a small puddle in what looks like an old warehouse or shipping container. No windows, all grey and bleak with broken lockers and scruffy changing area. The spectator section is a corner of the warehouse with 6 fold down plastic chairs. And that's if you can even get booked in! Complained and was told the pictures online are used across all parks and are for illustrative purposes only. Very dishonest and misleading.

0 fun or engaging activities available and this wasn't communicated until after we had booked a non refundable stay.
Happy to continue selling holidays knowing those families won't be able to participate in anything. Again ive been told tough, and t&c state you aren't guaranteed any fun whilst on site.
No advertised character meet and greets. They appear for 10 mins a day apparently, but the time isn't publicised, and guess what? if you can't mind read and guess correctly when and where they will be, tough!

Playpark broken. Tough
Lots of arcades machines not working. Tough.
Restaurant slow and gets your order wrong.

"Football" section is 2 old rusty goals in a very small, disused car park next to the road leading up to the caravans so not safe for wee ones with basic road safety knowledge.

Just the worst break we've ever had and general manager only willing to "take comments on board" and not to offer any form of goodwill gesture for wasting our time and money.

Please do not waste your money - book a Haven stay for £50 more and actually get a tiny bit of joy.

We booked a week long stay from Friday to Friday at Romney sands resort. Although the accommodation was fairly clean and bedding was supplied the allocated parking was not close to the accommodation. As two elderly people we found it difficult getting our cases to the accommodation. Can't fault the staff apart from their age, most looked straight out of school. But as low wages I understand this. The food looked appetising but was often tasteless and pricey. On one occasion on a grill night at 5.30pm we tried to order from the grill menu with 2 steaks, and was told sorry we are out of steaks. This was on their special grill night. We went out of camp to find a local pub with a better trustpilot rating. Cheaper and better quality.

Long weekend stay at Parkdean Todber Valley Holiday Park - We booked this stay online only a fortnight before our caravan stay. Nevertheless everything ran smoothly, with regular contact from the lady in reception ensuring everything was running to perfection. We arrived at our scheduled time and were in the caravan within 10 minutes. The caravan was very clean throughout with all bedding, pots and pans, cutlery etc appearing recently washed and spotless. We did have a problem with the combi boiler but within only a few minutes of us calling reception there was a knock on the door and the problem was quickly diagnosed and fixed. The site was very quiet throughout day and night but I guess you would expect it to be during low season. The main purpose of our visit was to visit our family living nearby so we didn't use any onsite facilities, but had we been on a holiday with young children I think we would have found it difficult to keep them entertained onsite, so if you are expecting swimming pools and loads of child targeted entertainment you might need to look elsewhere. If you enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the countryside and have your own transport then Todber Valley could be a great place for you! What impressed us most about Todber Valley was the staff. The two employees who came to fix our boiler were efficient, knowledgeable and very sociable; definitely not like the glum ‘couldn't care less’ staff you meet at some holiday sites! The young lady in reception (I wish I had asked her name) was extremely efficient, sociable and an impressive representative of Parkdean Todber Valley. She is a credit to herself and the company!

BE CAREFUL IF YOU BOOK A DIRECT HOLIDAY HOME ON THE PARK-DEAN RESORT HUNSTANTON NORFOLK
We booked a lodge well in advance for a 3 night away break. Upgraded to the next home with balcony. We had no confirmation to say we had booked. Checked my booking. Com acct, nothing registered. When we enquired with booking. Com they just sent us an E mail saying to check on line again with our confirmation number. Errrr no confirmation number as no confirmation received.
We booked another apartment, ( not on Park Dean site )received confirmation straight away. 2 days before our Holiday I receive a text message from the owner of the Park Dean home with details of the site,key code etc 2 days before we were due to go away.
I spoke to the owner to say we had booked another appt elsewhere as booking. Com had not confirmed our booking, she didn’t really want to know when I tried to explain that I chased them for a confirmation number. The full amount was taken out of my account. I was unable to get any response from booking. Com. Whilst on Holiday there we thought we would go and have a look at the holiday home and stay in it for a night as we had paid for the 3 days. To our dis belief the owner had let someone else stay in it on the Saturday night which we had paid for. They had left dirty pots in the sink. The bed was un made, it was disgusting, dirt, stains all over the carpets. The toilet was dirty. We tried calling the owner, surprise, she didn’t answer. Managed to get hold of her house maid who said we didn’t think you were coming as you mentioned you had no confirmation back from booking com you had booked some where else. Not the point she took the full £530 payment from my account. We had still paid for the 3 days. It was also not the upgraded home we paid for. A big con and I will never ever book a holiday on any Park Dean resort again. Not blaming Park Dean, it’s the private owner I’m blaming.

Park Dean you need to seriously look at your customers who are renting their holiday homes out on you sites, as some of them may be giving you a bad name

We had a nice week at Bideford bay, but I will say the drinks & food in the Club house is far to expensive, 3 glasses of Lemonade and a bottle of peroni beer, £16.00, went off site most of the time, we went to a bar in Westward Ho, bought the same drinks £10.50, not a bad difference and £8,00 for burger & Chips instead of £12.00 at Bideford bay, don't get me start on the Fish & Chippery trailer by the Club house, absolute rubbish food, accommodation was OK, will be booking Airbnb next time, the only good thing I can say is my daughter won £220 at the bingo, don't think we would stay there again though, to much of a RIP off.

Recently visited Parkdean Regents Park which was extremely expensive compared to Haven who we use more regularly. We paid for our Dog and basically this site offers no facilities for Dog users’ we were advised that Dogs were not allowed inside the premises we was very disappointed and utilised the nearby pub. Regarding caravan quality’ ours was just ok but my sisters was disgusting. On paying for an early check in’ she was advised by the head caravan cleaner that she couldn’t handover the caravan due to the WET DOGGY SMELL which was unrelenting irrespective of smoke bombs and cleaning. We found the Reception staff very unhelpful who didn’t offer any solution regarding their smelly caravan. I did advise my sister that we could both immediately go home and request compensation from Parkdean head office for their failure to provide an adequate caravan caravan and the FACT this caravan issue ruined our Family holiday. If you are considering a holiday break with Parkdean Regents Park MORECAMBE don’t you would be wasting your money.

Just back from a truly enjoyable break away at Eyemouth ,we have been visiting Eyemouth for a few years now it’s a beautiful site .
The first time this year ,the staff many we didn’t recognise I think may have been new .From the lovely helpful and friendly security to the extremely efficient Amy ,the cleaning staff member Iv honestly never saw the entertainment toilets so clean they were spotless “well done Amy”!!💯plus all the entertainment and bar staff .
The friendliness and holiday spirit was exceptional we really didn’t want to go home thank you all for a fabulous break until the next time 😊😍

All the sales staff at Parkdene Southview were/are helpful and listene, but it was one female saleswoman/person or whatever made my purchase of a holiday easy peasy and 'sorted' any problem that I had or felt I had....from price negotiation to veiwings,from sorting out the pitch for the home i.e which way the sun came up and went down,to parking space,from positioning on the 'pitch' to replacement 'bits and pieces'(Home was preloved). This lady was Victoria or Vee to her friends, colleagues and 'Owners'.

DO NOT BUY THERE INSURANCE. We purchased insurance as we both suffer from poor health. Sadly we were to ill to travel so contacted then to cancel. They will not pay out unless your GP writes to them no nhs gps have the time or capacity to do this. Parkdeans response stated “ We understand, that it does state your GP would request a form regarding claiming against insurance however our cancellation cover isn't insurance as it only covers guest up until the day before the holiday”. I feel this has been mis sold. I sent a copy of my husbands medical record stating he was unfit to travel but this apparently was not sufficient enough evidence even though it was dated appropriately

My partner & I have had two back to back weekends at Vauxhall resort at Gt Yarmouth. The Skamouth weekend, accommodation in the Goose apartments was pretty good to be fair. Clean and practical. But NO towels, so had to go and buy some from the local Asda 5 minutes drive from the park. No tea towels for drying washing liquid etc … so be prepared to bring them with you especially toilet roll. For £600 for the weekend, I expected this few items to come as standard. Bring your own food. The on site shop is massively OVERPRICED. The site miss a trick by changing extortionate prices with a Asda just up the road. Entertainment is pretty good, to many DJ sets and not enough live music on the Skamouth weekend. But …. The absolute worst thing is the bar. Not the bar staff fault. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS trying to get a drink. Be it prepared for a minimum 15+ wait and that is if you’re lucky. A free for all, not organised and later in the evening I saw a few heated arguments in the queuing. Soft drinks vending machines complicated to work if indeed they work at all. I am not a particularly fussy person, but these issues spoiled my weekends.

I wouldn’t even have given 1 star but had to rate it or I couldn’t have left a review. I thought Southview Holiday Park Skegness was a nice place but, judging by the accommodation and lack of support from the staff I will never go back there. The caravans are disgraceful and there are so many complaints about the caravans but to no avail. The thing is you pay over the odds and to be placed in a dirty caravan with blinds disgustingly marked half a curtain up at the window and the other half in the wardrobe. The glass on oven and windows, well that’s another story, you can’t see out of them. All in all if the staff were more compassionate it may help a little but they don’t and to be honest they don’t care as at the end of the day we go home and someone else comes back but the complaints keep coming. Will DEFINITELY NOT BE BACK THERE

Just spent 4 nights at Naze Marine in Essex. Second week of park being open so was relatively quiet but the park dean staff entertainers still made great effort with the tots events and shows. Staff were very friendly and helpful (Teigan - Entertainer, Paige - Entertainer, Ellie - Bar restaurant staff) 5* for staff. Thank you.

In terms of the caravan we had stayed in, the pictures on the site were quite different to the caravan we had in terms of the size, no patio, no patio doors like it had on photo but the caravan itself was very clean and modern.

Due to rain the week before arrival the ground around the caravan’s was muddy and by the time you got to the caravan your footwear gets muddy to then walk through the caravan, making lots of unnecessary mess.

Highly recommend all caravans should have cost effective pathways. We had a pram which was a huge struggle through mud and wasn’t great for my Dad who suffers with knee problems that ended up slipping over in the mud. The pathways would make a huge difference to people wanting to stay as that’s the only thing that had made my parents not want to go again because of the fear of falling over, mess and struggles in mud. 3* for accommodation.

Main entrance car park full due to book in at four did not happen long queues out of entrance . Caravan carpets dirty large cob web hanging down in middle of main seating area .path to get into caravan not been swept boler packed up on last day just turned of power? Staff seem to be stood around smoking not much else

We stayed at Bidford bay Devon we paid £1.297.00
we had mould on all our matresses and mould fluff on the skirting boards and headboard I had my 2 children one who suffers from ashma the beds were damp every night was like sleeping on wet towels. I even put 3 sheets on but was no better there was hair on floor and fake eye lashes stuck to the wall from someone else who stayed there before us there was broken spur socket.The oven was filthy dirty to the point we had to wash everything up before use.The curtains were too small in the bedroom where people could see in.I pulled bed out to put more sheets on and there was toy cars and food rubbish under beds.we left 2 day early because of this.I have been trying to sort this issue out since leaving and no has got back to me or ignoring me I am disgusted and upset as we have been with parkdean for at least 5 years.

The Customer Service of this company is worse than Basil Fawlty, and even worse is that the management do not appear to care, even condoning it by their lack of action to change or resolve the matters.

My complaint stems from a holiday in August. The complaint was acknowledged advising a response within 7 days. After much chasing I got a response within 4 weeks.

The response was a joke, blaming us travelling in low season (August?) and calling me a liar. I replied and still have not received a response to my complaint.

On 08/11/2023 I got a response, from Parkdean still not answering my questions and just about dismissing all I wrote to them about our awful experience. They wont deal with third parties ie my daughter, or Resolver!!!!

Paid for the kids club totally ripped off paw patrol in adverts looks like you meet the pups no cardboard, cut outs 4 little games over in twenty minutes they were the only 2 kids there the pottery club was expecting to make something no just gave you a figure to paint cancelled the other 2 only saw sparkle and sparky once the kids were very disappointed don't waste your money we stayed at lower hyde

I have left a review today regarding the disgraceful way we were treated at the Lochloy site in Nairn
Another warning to mention ,do not bother to pay for Cancellation Insurance ,we tried to cancel as my husband was unwell
but the fact I had insurance made no difference we were asked for a Doctors letter as proof.
I think they must be aware with the state of the NHS
no doctor has time to write letters to caravan sites as its hard enough even to get an appointment with a doctor I would not waste my doctors time with this.
so having Insurance makes no difference.

Very welcoming very attentive extremely helpful wonderful tasty food too.

We booked a Kennack lodge with the WOW factor… what we got was so far from the WOW we couldn’t believe it, we complained that what we booked is not what we got, they didn’t give a crap, the photos on the website are misleading, we’ve definitely been ripped off! The lodge was dirty, smelly, missing cushions, towels, utensils, crockery, there are no cupboards to store any food away, there’s one plug socket behind the microwave and nowhere to plug in a kettle and toaster, I kid you not! There were 5 of us and only 2 chairs on the decking, where were 3 of us to sit on an evening? Very basic lodge, not relaxing at all. We paid a lot for this lodge and I’d have rather stayed in a premier inn to be honest, we’d have had about £600 left to play with! Please do your research, google the names of lodges because they are all different and the managers will refer you to the small print… lodges will vary…shame I can’t post my photos so you can see what we booked to what we got… disgusted and disgruntled
