This company was purchasing my car through Motorway my dealings where with Kiersn not a very pleasant individual . They started by asking for my original purchase invoice for the car which is unusual but "COMPANY POLICY" then upon there driver being on the train to collect the car i was informed i would not have my finance settled immediately and would receive confirmation in seven days . RED FLAG never give anyone your car and documents until proof of settlement from your finance company. I told Kieran there was no chance of my car leaving my possession unless they can settle the agreement his agitated reply was "ITS COMPANY POLICY" after him stating several times that he was the customer and i should let him have the car he hung the phone up and i never heard from him again. Not a company I would deal with i have put a complaint in with motorway stating there company practises. one last note the finance setting was just under £49,000 would you have let it drive away?

What a great experience it was buying a car from Palmers in Watford! Louis was welcoming, helpful and super efficient to deal with. We have had Peugeots before but this is our first purchase from this dealership. We love the car and will be back when it is time to change it.

From start to finish of purchasing my fiat Ross Beard who attended to me was every helpful, polite and very professional with the way he dealt with the sale process. He also did a follow up call which I really appreciate. In all very happy customer. Love my car.

This is my second car I have bought at Palmers, Watford. Matt was very helpful and the transaction was completed in no time. Great range of cars here, for all budgets. Never had an issue with after sales, as Palmers have rung me several times over the years to make sure everything is ok. I would not go anywhere else to buy a car, Citroen has been the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned.

The entire transaction so far has been smooth, and I drove away feeling confident that I had made the right choice—not just with the car but also with the dealership.
I recieved a follow up call 24 hours after the purchase to check everything was OK. There were a couple of things that need to be sorted out but I am sure these will be resolved and i will continue to receive good aftercare.

Cannot recommend him enough

Do not buy from MG Palmers Hemel Hempstead. Zero after care/customer service, they lie and make up 'policy' and then fail to provide their policy documents as they do not exist!! They are only concerned about taking your money and then couldn't careless what service you recieve. They are extremely rude and lack any empathy for their customers and the situation that they have put you in and are not interested in trying to rectify their mistakes. It seems contracts are only legally binding for the customer and not palmers themselves.
Avoid at all costs

Billy is superb. Young girl knows her stuff and gives brilliant customer service. Went above and beyond for us. We found a car for our daughter and from the moment we made contact with her she made sure that we were happy, everything was in order and lots of updates throughout. Amazing girl don’t know what they would do without her.

Easily the worst dealership I’ve ever interacted with.

Won’t honour short time right to reject within 30 days despite admitting having sold me a brand new car with known faults, which they couldn’t fix and admitted it was on recall.
Now going through a long and expensive legal process just for a refund.

The cars in the show room had the same faults which they continued to sell. While my vehicle was in for repair within the first 24 hours of ownership, I was given a loan car which also had the same faults. Just terrible really.

Avoid at all costs.

I left my car for usual service requested by my finance company's request. On collection, Palmers refused to update the vehicle software, when I asked them why the service manager said the finance company do not like to pay for it. I asked the service manager what the full service would cover, he said check the break fluid, breaks and Electrical and normally charge £295

Ordered a Peugeot 308 from Watford Palmers. Very good service UNTIL my money was taken/finance setup.
The car was not ready for collection on agreed date. 3 days later when car was ready, no one had any idea about it as dealer was off yet no one knew about the appointment. Msg’d sales rep. on personal WhatsApp and when ignored, I had to call dealership. Instead of a quick 30 min handover, it took 2 hours+ for the team and manager eventually to figure out and compete the handover. So frustrating and typical after a ‘sale’.

Something promised to me as part of the agreement was not resolved until 8 weeks later.

Have an issue now, contacted manager as he said he will resolve anything if go direct to him. (Who resolved the above).
Given 2 stars as manager has been in touch and helpful but is an overall reflection of my experience from walking in, signing, to having what was agreed issued.

I ordered a Jeep in February 2024 with the promise that I would receive it within three months. My application was approved, and I paid a deposit, but that's where everything started going wrong. From that point on, the dealership continuously failed to provide accurate information about the status of my order.

They kept giving me false updates, and even the manager was involved in this web of lies. Every interaction left me feeling more confused, as no one seemed to have a clue about what was happening with my car. The overall experience has been both frustrating and disgusting. This dealership clearly doesn't value honesty or its customers' time.

If you're looking for reliability and decent service, I highly recommend staying far away from this dealership.

Looking at my lovely new ( to me ) Fiat from Palmers. The car is exactly as described, and the sales team have been unfailingly courteous and helpful throughout. All phone and email enquiries answered promptly and accurately. I live in Devon and had the car delivered. This went really smoothly and the car arrived at the EXACT time I was given. Amazing! Thank you Luke and Courtney for looking after me so well.

I purchased an Alfa Romeo from Palmers in Hemel Hempstead in November 2023, and my experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. Within the first week, I received a dash message warning about the brake pads, even though I was assured the car had been serviced before I took it home. Despite signing up for an official service plan, I struggled to get the service I was promised.

I called numerous times to book a service, only to be given a slot three months later. Since I live far away, I decided to wait for the scheduled service in July. I later discovered that the last service was actually done in July, months before I bought the vehicle—not in November as I was led to believe.

After many more phone calls, I was finally given a service slot for September 19th. To make matters worse, they tried to charge me for services that were supposed to be covered under my agreement, along with an extra £450 for brake pads. After speaking with the sales manager, I was reassured I wouldn’t have to pay this, yet the car was taken in for service.

It’s been a week now, and every day I have to spend a long time on the phone trying to get an update on my vehicle, only to be told they have no information.

The lack of communication, disorganization, and extra charges have been incredibly frustrating. I strongly advise anyone considering buying or servicing their car at Palmers Alfa Romeo to think twice. Absolutely appalling service from start to finish.

I booked my car in for a service online a week ago and received an email confirmation which said that a staff member would be in touch to confirm the booking. No confirmation was received. I attempted to phone them several times but was held in an endless queue. When I eventually got through to a person I was told that someone would call me back. Nobody did. I messaged them via their website. No response. This morning, I managed to speak to a real person on the phone who told me they had no record of my booking and they couldn't do the service in my (admittedly narrow) window of opportunity. (I live in Cumbria, a long way from a Fiat dealership, but am due to visit my mother in Hertfordshire for a few days, so I booked the service at Palmers Hemel Hempstead.) I'm now attempting to find another dealership that can help me during my brief Hertfordshire stay. I'm very dissatisfied with Palmers.
UPDATE: I had a call from Andy at Palmers on Monday afternoon, 9th Sept. A very nice guy and very apologetic for letting me down. He’d found my original web booking on their system but something had gone wrong with the next stage of the process and it never found its way to their service schedule. He promised to investigate and ensure that it never happened again. He also said that yes, of course they would honour my booking for a service on Tuesday 10th.However, I’d already had the car serviced on Monday morning by the wonderful people at Sportif Aylesbury, who charged £139.50 less than Palmers were quoting.
I’ve upped the star rating from one to two, purely because of Andy’s efforts to put things right.
