bought this game with Christmas festivities in mind. Just played it for the first time on Christmas Eve and have to say we are completely unimpressed. This is absolutely not a family friendly game - everyone was focused on their own screens with very little interaction between each other. Barely worth the one star review.

A really well executed modern take on a classic board game (think Trivial pursuit on a virtual platform). Game play is good and question packs are a nice way to keep it fresh.
Biggest flaw by far is the server capacity meant no access to the game on Christmas day - given how strongly marketed the game was for a family Christmas game, to not work on Christmas day is pretty inexcusable.

As with others, Christmas day fiasco. Your systems need to be able to support as many players as necessary if you are going to provide a game via an online platform or it is useless. Outsmarted please get your act together.

App was down on Christmas day. When we finally got on 2 days later, 2 players were unable to play as their app kept crashing. Very disappointing.

After the Christmas Day debacle we played today. Halfway through the game we realised that one category would not let us proceed to the question. Seems not all the issues are ironed out. This games going inthe bin after the past few days experience.

App is so bad. Played once with no issues apart from it being fiddly to register and set up game. Since then we have tried to play in multiple devices and not managed for a variety of reasons. For an app based game, this makes it unplayable. We do not have any more time to waste on it so returning to store we bought it in.

Purchased for our son for Christmas following a marketing campaign saying “The Ultimate Christmas Family Game Night”. The whole family gave up over an hour Christmas evening trying to get this working before discovering that their servers were down. Having done some research this has happened the last few years on Christmas Day as they can’t cope with the demand. How low to sell a product targeting Christmas Day fun when they know it won’t work and will spoil people’s day.

I’m sure the game is very good but we couldn’t access it on Christmas Day!!!!!!! The whole point is to play it at Christmas with the family. Surely if you’re selling lots of the game your server should be able to cope with the volume…..very very disappointing when 14 people gathered round to play it!!!!!!

Able to play in different languages

This game was great for the regular family get together. Would be fantastic though if you could have different languages on each device that you use. And the inclusion of Brazilian Portuguese or Portuguese would get this a five star rating from me

This should have been the perfect Christmas quiz game, I bought it as one of our guests doesn't like board games and this seemed like the perfect answer to filling the Christmas day tradition while including them. Alas the company have shot themselves in the foot with their lack of Christmas day server capacity. I am a supporter of lots of independent games developers but don't mess with people's Christmas'. I have returned my copy after opening the box and registering the game because I was unable to play on Christmas. I suggest you do the same, if you have had a similar experience.

Bought for XMAS day. All day errors due to high volume of traffic like many users have reported. Never got to play the game. Great disappointment to my family. Have returned the product for refund. Its pretty obvious to all that even though this company will have understood the numbers and issues for XMAS day beforehand they chose to ignore the single day issue based on the need for increased investment requirements in their infrastructure and thereby focus on the mainstream normal traffic. I hope many will treat this company with the same contempt they have treated its user base and return their product.

Got so bored and frustrated trying to configure and set up the app, access gameplay and find out how to get going that we gave up. Was supposed to be a Christmas family thing, but two 14 years olds, a 17 year old and two 50 year olds spent half an hour wrestling with glitches and instructions without getting going. It felt like a e-learning package at work, with all the server demands of data mining, it didn’t feel like fun. It seemed awfully pleased with itself with walls of marketing spiel and hyperbole but was not an intuitive or happy experience for the user.

Total utter waste of time. Glitchy, crashes though the games. Totally over engineered. Best bet is to buy a branded board game as they don't go wrong. Have thrown mine in the bin after one day which was the only thing that was easy about it.

So it all went wrong Christmas Day as documented I’d forgive that but since then same questions come up time after time and only 2 of us playing obviously just want you to buy new categories which is fair enough but surely not after 2 days.

Tried to play it twice over xmas period and server not working. Not fit for purpose, can't play it without server so can't trust it. Returning it for a refund.

Bought this game to play with family on Christmas Day. Checked that all worked on Christmas morning and all was good (I even bought several extra subject add-ons). However, come the evening when the family had all arrived, the app had crashed. Website was advising that they were experiencing issues and they would be resolved shortly. We tried several times during the evening and managed to get a bit further through the app each time, but were still unable to actually play the game. Even tried this morning, and managed to get through to selecting the subject areas this time, but still could not get through to actually playing the game.

I understand that a very comprehensive social media advertising campaign before Christmas will have led to many people such as myself, buying Outsmarted to play with their families on Christmas Day. However, if you provide a game that is primarily technology based, you need to ensure that the infrastructure that the game needs is capable of matching demand. Sadly, this has not been the case and with my family now having headed back to their respective homes, we will not have the opportunity to play this game for several months and I will be looking to return the game and get a refund.

Shame really, as we had all seen the adverts and when I told my kids that I had bought it for Christmas, they were all really excited and looking forward to playing it.

Bought this game to play Xmas evening with family. Tested it prior and worked fine, however on the day it could not connect and we were unable to play. Very disappointing and embarrassing as we all looked forward to playing. Spoiled our Xmas evening. I will be looking for a refund!

Good but doesnt work at peak times. Was down all Christmas Day which was very disappointing. Surely they know how much traffic to expect by the amount they have sold. Will be returning
