I was invited to join Nova as part of…

I was invited to join Nova as part of an exclusive community of top professionals. I initially assumed this was a merit-based network. However, after exploring the platform, I learned that participation requires a paid membership.

My primary concern is the platform’s lack of transparency about the paid membership requirement. If payment is necessary, this should be clearly stated in the initial invitation and throughout onboarding. Presenting the offer as exclusive, then disclosing a mandatory fee later, appears intentionally misleading.

I also found the value proposition unclear. It was not evident what unique networking opportunities, resources, or advantages Nova provides beyond those available through my existing professional network. Additionally, the platform’s relatively small member base further limits its appeal compared to established alternatives.

The business model also raises concerns. Emphasizing exclusivity, invitations, and paid access without a clear value proposition may create the impression of a pyramid-style membership, in which perceived value rests on exclusivity rather than tangible professional benefits. While I am not suggesting Nova is a pyramid scheme, its positioning can easily lead to that perception.

Ultimately, the lack of cost transparency, limited value, and small membership base made declining the offer straightforward.

I ordered and paid for a pizza vending machine from Henan Foodline Machinery on October 23, 2025. The equipment was delivered more than 129 days late and was in unusable condition. The supplier dishonestly refused to perform warranty repairs, and the equipment has been idle for 30 days with no resolution. I do not recommend this supplier.

Scam?

Abbastanza scettica, mi hanno pressato più volte prima per linkedin poi per mail per farmi partecipare alla selezione dei 111 Nova Students e mi avevano detto che ero tra i finalisti. Mi hanno invitato a pagare la tassa di iscrizione in ogni caso, se fossi stata presa me l’avrebbero rimborsata. Io ovviamente non ho pagato perché si tratta di un centinaio di euro, e guarda caso nella lista si sono classificati tutti studenti provenienti da università private. Ero molto scettica insomma, anche dalla quantità di mail che mi avevamo mandato per convincermi a iscrivermi con loro. Quando ho chiesto maggiori informazioni sul servizio DOPO NON ESSERE STATA SELEZIONATA, per capire se valesse comunque la pena iscrivermi, sono scomparsi come se non mi avessero mai contattata in primo luogo e come se non mi avessero fatto i complimenti per essere rientrata nei finalisti. Mah, direi che sono stati anche abbastanza stupidi perché così facendo hanno definitivamente perso la mia attenzione e soldi della quota

Dubious company with illegal practices

SPAM and no possibility to stop them from contacting me.

They keep sending me emails saying how "special" I am and want me to join NOVA. I have unsubscribed multiple times and also wrote them a direct email asking them to delete all my information, which they are required to do by law. They answered that they do it... just so I can keep getting their emails, even from their "CEO," because I have so much "potential".

People, don't buy into it. This is a highly dubious company. Stay away. Don't give them your data.

Great to really meet people - avoid linkedin noise

Great platform - I met lots of really interesting people both in events as in gravity (their virtual coffee chat tool) - met 2 of my best friends in a trip we did last year! i love how in the age of AI and linkedin noise, i can find a place to truly get to know people and really connect in a human way

Plataforma excelente

Nova es una plataforma excelente para conocer otros perfiles con inquietudes similares, acceder a eventos y personas que de otra manera serían mucho más difíciles. En esencia, está muy enfocado en potenciar a su comunidad, es totalmente recomendable.

Nova Talent - Pyramid Scheme?

Nova Talent reached out to me on LinkedIn to offer me a role as a Growth Intern. I had never applied, so I asked for more information. Instead of explaining the role, they asked me to schedule a call, which they then cancelled twice, both times without any explanation, despite the fact that I had already blocked time for it.

When the call finally happened, the experience was extremely unprofessional:
- The interviewer joined 10 minutes late with no message or apology.
- Had no idea who I was, my background, or which university I studied at, even though Nova had contacted me first.
- Any basic question I asked (“What exactly does the role involve?” / “What benefit does this bring to me?”) received no clear answer.
- The tone was irritated and evasive, and at one point she even asked me, “Do you have a lot of interviews?” in a condescending way.
- Told me they already had two Growth Interns at my university, which made it unclear why they reached out to me again. When I asked about it, she became defensive instead of explaining.

The most concerning part was the explanation of the “Growth Intern” position.
According to her, the role is commission-based: you earn money by bringing people into Nova who then pay an annual membership fee (around €200). Recruiting people who must then pay to join made the structure feel uncomfortably similar to a pyramid-scheme, even if that is not how they describe it.

She also claimed Nova has 13 million members worldwide, which sounded extremely unrealistic. After the call, I looked it up myself and publicly available information suggests Nova has around 25,000 members, not millions. This made her statements in the interview feel misleading at best.

Overall, the entire experience felt disorganized, unclear, and lacking transparency.
The combination of:
- repeated cancellations
- zero preparation
- vague answers
- commission-based recruitment
- and membership claims that contradict public information

made the whole process feel highly questionable.

Based on my experience, I would strongly advise others to be cautious when dealing with Nova Talent.

No Focus on Actual User Needs

So, I registered on a platform called Nova early this year for networking. I had such high expectations that I purchased a lifetime membership (yes, it's my fault).

Here is my takeaway from the last few months.

1. Lack of User Engagement
- No responses to member inquiries.
- Users report feeling ignored and disconnected.
- This undermines community trust and retention.

2. Absence of Active Community Management
- Group officials often leave messages unanswered for months.
- There is no evidence of community moderation or structured engagement loops.
- A “talent” platform without dialogue erodes value.
- Comparable platforms like Lunchclub use active nudging to drive replies.

3. Misplaced Product Priorities
- Focus on adding new features instead of fixing core bugs. Example: “Twitter integration” is prioritized while “Gravity” (key idea) is broken.
- No Minimum Viable Product (MVP) discipline visible.
- Feature bloat without user value.

4. No Clear Engagement Metrics
- No evidence of tracking DAUs, MAUs, or response rates.
- “Who is tracking user engagement?” remains unanswered.
- Without metrics, product-market fit cannot be proven.

5. Severe UX Flaws
- Swiping to reply causes app crashes.
- The iOS app is slower than a sloth.
- And I can list more.

6. Overpromising, Underdelivering
- Nova markets itself as a “world-class talent platform.”
- Yet users report not meeting anyone new after paying for months.
- Subscription fees are perceived as steep given the lack of outcomes.

Collectively, these issues show a product with vision but no execution discipline. Nova risks alienating early adopters and destroying trust unless it re-centers on responsiveness, core product reliability, and measurable engagement metrics.

Now,
What is positive about Nova so far?
- Their LinkedIn page, which is active and responsive toward potential new users. But once you are in, you can read from the top again.

In summary,
A platform where the owners do not take any responsibility or accountability indicates a mismatch between the founder's vision and their actions, suggesting they do not uphold their stated values.

I sincerely hope that this will be solved. Those who know me understand that I would never have posted here if I had received a response to my questions and a timeline for resolution. Although the founder responded over email (I am grateful for that), the team does not carry the founder's vision to execution. Or maybe there is some other problem, but as a paying customer, I'm not concerned about internal matters; I want the value I paid for.

Llevo siendo parte de Nova desde hace unos 5 años y la verdad que todo lo que me ha aportado es positivo desde oportunidades como a las increíbles personas que he podido conocer a través de muchos de sus eventos. =)

My home in the world’s cities!

I have been a Nova member since 2022 when I was doing my Masters at IE Business School, Madrid. As someone who has access to numerous networks - having also started my career in MBB, been part of several global entrepreneurial and impact projects, and traveled quite a bit - there are very few spaces I have experienced where people genuinely connect with one another (beyond the titles) and without soliciting. Such spaces I am super grateful for - it feels like being at home in that sense.

I think the marker of any great network is the intention of its members to be givers and not merely takers. So instead of asking what can I get, the best members I have connected to often ask “what can I bring?”…making the contributors.

If you wanna join the network purely to be a taker, I wouldn’t recommend it…if you want to give your authentic self into a space of highly impactful present and future leaders - then go for it.

La mia esperienza in Nova

Faccio parte della community dal 2022 e non potrei essere più contenta della mia esperienza! Ho avuto l'opportunità di fare un percorso di un anno mirato a individuare i miei need e le mie aspirazioni con la Talent Agent che mi è stata assegnata a inizio percorso. Poi ho preso parte a diversi eventi online e un paio in presenza che ho trovato molto originali e di impatto, sia come format, sia per quanto concerne le spokesperson selezionate. Ho avuto modo di creare connessioni reali e autentiche con altri membri della community attraverso i meeting settimanali e di formarmi grazie ad alcuni corsi online ben strutturati.

A great talent community for professional networking

I've been a Nova member for a few months, and I use the platform extensively to connect with interesting people in person, or online. I think what they are doing is really valueable, and has great differentiators compared to LinkedIn (such as meetups, afterworks, webinars, mentorship program, 1:1 online intros, etc.).

It's good value for money

It's good value for money, a place to get exposed to ambitious people, and a place to make connections. The Gravity function is like going to a conference and meeting people who share some of your interests and expertise, spontaneously talking to them.

Really. Just big NO red flag!

Really? Is this a platform to connect? from the reviews I can tell they are all reviews from members. I didn't check the remaining ones, but I think it is already concerning. Funny, not recent positive ones, and the bad ones? hmmm. So funny how when there's a bad review, they asked to remove it!! Why? if it's legit why should you remove it. It helps others, plus there are not bad words as well.
I also try to join, to connect. If you are not a cool professional with money, then you can't.

I don't really get their value prop

I don't really get their value prop. Network is dead, events are usually paid (so becomes the same as meetup or any other app), courses they offer are super basic and very few job posts. Not sure what I'm supposed to do on the platform.
I'm glad I at least got a discount, otherwise full price would be madness. On the edge of scam.
