In order to apply solar credits to your utility bill and help you save, we do require a signed contract along with contact and utility information so that we can coordinate directly with your utility provider.

This switches us to green energy

This switches us to green energy, perhaps not as profitable as owning your own panels, but a lot less trouble with no complications on your home.

Taxachusetts has made the function of this program more complicated than it should be and that's the government's fault, not Nexamp's. National grid isn't smart enough to make this more straightforward either.

Customer service staff is good and knowledgeable

Nexamp Community Solar explains how everything works as well as they can, but what national grid puts on the bill is confusing as all heck because they are not particularly competent. National grid is great at overcharging customers though.

I checked with the Better Business…

I checked with the Better Business Bureau to make sure Nexamp was legit. They had a good rating. I called other people and they sang Nexamp praises. So it was a no-brainer. I like to save money. It was so easy to sign up.

Ex customer complaint!@

I've been a customer for several years yet when i moved 1 mile away I'm told you have to find a network for me. When I get re-installed in your network I'll decide whether or not to continue using you. In the meantime I'm searching for a company with better customer service.

Because community solar programs are directly associated with your utility account number rather than your name, your recent move and new utility account must be treated as a new enrollment. This is standard across all community solar programs and not unique to Nexamp.

Based on current availability, we anticipate securing a new placement within the next 2–3 months. I sent an email to Nexamp 3 days ago…

I sent an email to Nexamp 3 days ago asking why my bill has doubled since I started with Nexamp. iI started with Nexamp to be a little more green and maybe reduce my cost. I have not received a response. Not happy, will have to cancel with Nexamp and revert to THE GRID !

As a quick reference, in New York, Nexamp community solar credits are applied based on your electricity usage and the amount of energy generated by your share of the solar farm during a given period. Because Nexamp bills in arrears, the charges on your statement reflect credits produced during a prior production period, so they may not align with the same month shown on your utility bill.

When reviewing your bills, we recommend comparing the production dates on your Nexamp invoice with your National Grid statement to see when and where your credits were applied. No matter the month or production amount, you continue to receive a 10% discount on all applied credits.

It’s Good To Be A Customer!

Still no communication if I there is a solar farm available in my area. Was hoping that would be address up front. If building that is a good answer.

NEXAMP not the best for us!

We tried NEXAMP for over a year here in Lewiston NY. There billing practices employ back billing for up to 4 months so keeping track of how much you owe and when they bill for it can be very confusing. It typically took 40 minutes to deal with their bill each month with 3 minutes average each for all our other utilities. Some months no bill at all and other months hundreds of dollars owed that was unexpectedly. We did save about 10% off our electric costs overall but the aggravation of dealing with old bills and customer service that can't explain how the billing works forced us to quit their service. But remember the 4 month delay in billing means the bills keep coming even after you leave them. If you don't keep track of your bills and just pay whatever bill they send then you will probably will like their business model. For those of you that keep track I would recommend avoiding Nexamp.

In New York, community solar billing is in arrears, meaning your utility first applies the solar credits to your bill, and Nexamp invoices you afterward. We know this process can feel unconventional, especially when multiple months are included in a single invoice.

There is also a delay between when credits appear on your utility bill and when you receive our invoice, as we wait for confirmation from your utility before billing. Once confirmed, we apply your contracted discount to the credits and send the invoice.

What we can confirm is that you always receive the full credit and your discount, regardless of when the invoice is issued. At Nexamp, we are committed to making the process as clear and seamless as possible. If you’re open to it, we’d be glad to review your billing timeline and can also provide a summary of your historical credits, payments, and savings. We appreciate your understanding and are here to help.
