Definitely recommend NexAmp
Great program. It was offered via my electric utility and a great solution for us because we were not ready to get rooftop solar. Easy to sign up for, easy to use, saved us money and we were really happy to contribute to renewable energy use.
Only reason we left was because we did eventually get rooftop solar. Leaving was also easy -- GREAT customer service from Daylen, and when I had to follow up --- because of my electric co., not NexAmp -- just STELLAR customer service from Randy R.

Great customer service experience…
Great customer service experience overall. I was also told that due to the fact that I receive SNAP and SSI benefits that I would be eligible for a 25 percent discount which would be very useful and much needed especially when my electric bill is considerably higher during the winter. However, I still wasn't told that I'd be billed separately by nexamp every month which made me a bit skeptical and confused me at first. However, I did some research to get more information about that to see if it would really save money on my electric bill or cost me more and I found out that I'd still be paying less and saving on my electric bill overall which is a good thing. I am a bit disappointed that the savings is not immediate and that I don't get to save on my electric bill this winter but at least I was informed about that part ahead of time though and I still look forward to my electric bill hopefully being lower next winter though. The 15 year policy and not having to renew my services or reapply every year also makes it a lot easier and less stressful for me. So a couple of minor drawbacks but otherwise good experience overall.

It takes six months to cancel service…
It takes six months to cancel service with these folks! I was told it would be 90 days, so this is clearly a deceptive business practice. Who ever heard it it taking six months to cancel a utility? They get a zero rating with me. It is not just that it takes six months to cancel, but that I was told it would be half that length. Don't do business with these folks!!!!

We understand that our billing model can feel unfamiliar at first. Because Nexamp bills in arrears, invoices are generated only after your utility confirms that solar credits have been applied to your account. This is why invoices may arrive even after a cancellation request has been submitted. Additionally, as noted in our contract and prior communications, utilities may take up to 90 days to fully process a community solar cancellation, during which time solar credits can still be applied to your utility account.
That said, your account has now been officially canceled. We will be following up with you directly to review any remaining questions and help clarify anything else about your final invoices or the program overall. Thank you again for your time and for having been a part of our community solar program.

Eric the rep from nexamp was great. Other than that I have no experience with nexamp. I haven't gotten a national grid bill yet with my nexamp savings.

No transparency
No transparency, unhelpful customer service, very minimal savings & will not be recommending to anyone, now if they immediately canceled when we wanted to cancel I wouldn't have bothered to leave a review, however they're going to continue billing us for 3 months. Do not use shady NEXAMP!

When a customer requests to cancel, we mark the account at that time and submit the request to the utility to begin processing. This coordination ensures that all necessary changes are completed, but it can result in solar credits and related Nexamp invoices continuing during the transition. As noted in your agreement, this process can take up to 90 days and reflects how community solar programs are structured.
Nexamp provides solar credits that reduce your utility bill, and we only bill after your utility confirms those credits. These credits are always billed at a guaranteed discount, typically 10 percent. Because solar production and energy usage vary throughout the year, we recommend viewing your savings on an annual basis.
If your electricity usage has changed, we would be happy to reassess your subscription to better match your current needs and help you maximize your savings.
We are also sorry to hear that your experience with our team did not meet expectations. That is not the level of service we aim to provide, and we appreciate your feedback as we continue to improve.
