Great vehicles with outstanding service at a fair price.
I was looking for a small SUV for three months in the summer of 2023. After checking out several long term rental companies I chose Mycardirect. They offered an extensive range of cars and the prices were competitive. I had a primary contact who helped me through the approval and contract process. The icing on the cake was when they delivered the car to my home in Northumberland at no charge, and collected it at the end of three months. I’ll definitely use Mycardirect the next time I need a vehicle.
Very smooth process
Very smooth process. Have used the company once before for a year lease whilst I waited for my new car to be delivered and are doing the same now… I rang up the company and 2 days later I had a virtually new BMW ix1 delivered to my house.
Be aware of unfair fees
I have been a customer since 2020, initially very easy application and customer service was good. I had a car subscription with a brand new car. Unfortunately the market for subscriptions is very poor so shortly after taking the car on a 6 month term, it became impossible to change for a new/different car as the prices were inflated.
During the subscription customer service fades away, not clear on options when car is required for service, who you can use etc. I was always told to go to Kwik fit for a BMW service but later it became apparent you can use official BMW service but no one gives you this information. When I did get a BMW service, all my old contact and address details were used.
Back to my main issue and everyone please take note before you sign up. They charge unfair and ridiculous “admin” fees. When I handed my car back, it’s did have some wheel curbing to which I accept to pay for but when you get the invoice they add on a “damage admin fee” essentially charging you for them doing their job. I also had a parking fine, which I paid and cleared years ago but they are trying to charge me £42 admin fee for essentially doing nothing but sending an email. I also wanted to return my vehicle early (by 1 month) due to being made redundant, they didn’t really care, could only arrange to collect the car near the contract end anyway and of course they charge you for having the car. Even when I questioned that they collected the car 6 days before the contract end so could I be charged appropriately, they come back and state, no I owe up to contract end date. Really disappointing company and worst I have experienced in the lease/subscription market over last 10 years. Wouldn’t recommend and please be aware once you get the polite helpful customer service to get you signed up, they turn to the contract small print and lose their customer service ability.

I rent a car for 6 months through MyCarDirect and have had it for just under 2 weeks. The whole set up process was rather smooth and help was always available and quick when i needed it when setting the account. The car delivered at home is in perfect condition. So far, would definitely recommend.

Politely put by somebody else - “initial warm glow has faded”
Mark was very helpful at the start of the process, after Cazoo had let us down. However it has been nothing but disappointing since.
The car arrived with a bald tyre and hadn’t been cleaned. They expect us to constantly ferry their subscription car for a service, MOT etc .. the very things we want to avoid when paying an awful lot of money a month for a subscription service.
Mark promised that if I took the car available he would “have me out of it before it needed it’s MOT” I have chased and chased him asking for a different vehicle to receive a message, he promises to respond and then nothing.
I then wrote an email to Duncan their CEO and their executive chair and nobody has replied. Incredibly odd given their emphasis on customer service.
As an existing customer, who has always adhered to everything that has been asked of me, paid ontime etc .. the treatment is just awful!
This morning I received an email from Mark apologising for the poor service. He didn’t even bother to call! He hid behind an email where he was factually incorrect and when I expressed my interest in going elsewhere he asked me to make sure I gave them enough notice when returning the car!
I have never been treated in such an awful way!
If you are looking to subscribe please look to an alternative supplier! They are very nice at first .. but the service following the delivery is severely lacking. Their cars are also older which means you have to do the legwork for them to keep them maintained - not something anybody should accept when paying in excess of £700 a
Month!

A brilliant solution to short term (or longer!) car cover
I was searching online for a short term hire car whilst we decide what new car to buy and found mycardirect - never heard of a car subscription before and it's perfect for us. The whole team (Jeffrey, Mark et al) are all very professional, with great service and it's so easy - the car was delivered to our door and we have just extended the term as we are in no rush whilst we agonise over electric/hybrid or whatever! Highly recommended.

Good Experience
Worked with Jeffrey, Mark and Tony to set up delivery of a vehicle the day after we arrived in the UK after living in Canada for many years. Other vendors didn't seem able to facilitate a subscription with the time difference (-7hrs) and it became all too difficult so I gave up on them. Mycardirect were very responsive and went the extra mile to make sure all my questions were answered and a couple of issues resolved. Pricing was very competitive and a well equipped shiny new vehicle arrived as promised. I shopped around a bunch of vendors and they were by far the best.
