Amazing music and customer service

Allyson helped me and she was detailed in here responses. Also, she responded quickly and which was much appreciated. Highly recommended using MusicBed for the quality music as well as top level customer service.

Ignoring Legal Obligations

As many on here have experienced, I began 14-day free trial on Musicbed. Before the end of the trial period, I cancelled my membership, however I did not receive email confirmation. I was since charged for the first months payment and locked into a 12 month contract. As a UK citizen, I am entitled to a 14-day cooling off period, whereby I can cancel my subscription and receive a full refund within 14 days after the payment begins (this is a legal right, even if Musicbed are not a UK based company, because they are available to UK citizens and their marketing is visible in the UK). After many emails back and forth on the matter with Musicbed's customer service team, they continued to refuse my legal right and started to ignore my emails all together. Incredibly disappointing from a company that seems to be well regarded in the creator space.

Upon reviewing your account, it appears the free trial was not cancelled before the annual subscription began. I also see that you received the 24-hour renewal notice email prior to the charge. At signup, we clearly communicate that the annual subscription will automatically begin unless cancelled during the trial, which can be done at any time from your account settings. Was there anything in that language that seemed unclear?

We strive to comply with all relevant regulations, including UK consumer protection guidance. According to UK government guidance on subscription contracts, the statutory 14-day cooling-off period generally begins when the contract is entered into (in this case, at the start of the free trial) rather than when the first paid subscription charge occurs. This ensures transparency while giving users a chance to evaluate the service during the trial.

We appreciate your feedback and are happy to answer any further questions about how subscriptions and trial cancellations work.

Disappointing & Deceptive Customer Service

While their music options are phenomenal, their customer service is incredibly inconsistent and very disappointing. Upon reading prior reviews, MusicBed indicated "In the case of an unexpected or unwanted renewal, we are quite flexible when there has been minimal use of the subscription". Despite contacting them in less than 24h from being charged a yearly subscription (I've been subscribed for years on a yearly subscription at this point), with zero usage on the account, I was continuously told it simply wasn't possible to be refunded. Upon bringing up the above quote, only then did they offer to refund only a portion of the cost. Again, despite zero usage of the subscription.

While I understand the responsibility is mine, I think it's wholly disingenuous to claim being "quite flexible" in cases of an unwanted subscriptions (this case) with minimal or no use. And when there isn't a reasoning of "but there was use of the account," they instead opt to simply be fairly inflexible. Additionally, it's also disingenuous to prevent further auto renewals online until the last month, despite already receiving full payment for a year-long subscription ahead of time. This is a music-based subscription in 2025, not a health insurance plan. I can't imagine it's difficult to easily allow customers to prevent this from happening on days 1-365 of their subscription as opposed to only on days 335-365.

I simply wanted a full refund for an entirely unused product charged less than 24 hours prior and that was denied despite their ability to be "quite flexible".

Quick and professional

Musicbed is not for everyone given the cost compared to other services. However, their music library is excellent and my experience with customer support has been great. They respond to questions promptly and courteously, including recently when I had a question about renewal. Recommended.

Absolutely Ignored

Sad that I have to come here for help.
I had tried the free trial recently and cancelled it in time. “ I literally remember receiving the text “your membership will end on this or that date”, something like that.
However there was some sort of error or issue - the subscription still activated even though i had cancelled my trial and therefore I was charged.
I immediately let Musicbed support know, explained the situation in detail, have not touched the platform, had not used songs, downloaded them or anything, yet they avoid paying back the money I was charged and are avoiding that topic entirely.
The last message I got from support was the guy telling me he had finally cancelled my subscription and ended the conversation there, marking the issue solved, and i got the “rate your experience” message afterwards.
I really looked up to Musicbed as a good and premium platform but this is scummy.

My error was met with great service and efficient help.

Musicbed efficiently helped me with an issue on my end. My download failed for a single contract, which can only have one. They told me how their process worked, but they also immediately sought to help me redownload the song I needed. They didn't make me feel stupid or bad by the issue being on my end, but made sure I got everything I needed. I have loved working with musicbed!

Trapped in Unwanted Annual Contract

I signed up thinking I was getting a month-to-month subscription based on their pricing presentation, only to discover I was locked into a full 12-month contract. When I contacted customer service immediately after realizing this (having only used the service for one month), I was offered zero accommodation.
This appears to be intentional, as they won't allow you to disable auto-renewal until 30 days before renewal (10+ months away). On the other hand, you can click "Keep Subscription" at any time.
I tried to resolve this reasonably, asking to cancel the future subscription charges. Their response was "policy is policy" with no regard for customer satisfaction. When I escalated to supervisor Grant, he told me he "can't do anything mid-subscription." It's the beginning of the second month after I realized I was charged.
They refuse any flexibility, even for customers who contact them immediately.

*Update
Thanks for your response. However, your claim about the “significant usage of more than 20 songs” is factually incorrect. I used about 3 songs in my actual projects, which you can verify through your sync ID system or usage tracking.

If you’re counting every download, including songs I tested but didn’t use, as “usage,” that’s misleading. Users need to preview and test music to see if it fits their projects; that’s the entire point of a music service. If there’s a way to test music in projects without downloading it, I’m unaware of it.

The confusion comes to from your pricing presentation, which emphasized monthly.

Hi there, thanks for sharing your feedback with us, it helps us improve! To provide some clarity- all subscriptions are annual, 12-month agreements. This is noted at every step of the checkout process- the monthly option is described as "Annual, 12 Installments".

Would you be able to provide some context on where there was confusion regarding the monthly installments as opposed to a true month-to-month plan? This can help us avoid the same issue for clients in the future!

Per our conversation, there was a significant amount of use on the subscription (more than 20 songs) so regardless of how many months into the subscription plan you are, we aren't able to terminate the agreement.
