Avoid - Classic "Bait and Switch" tactics to waste your time
I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Motor Range. I was interested in a silver Hyundai Ioniq 5 (Registration: WK22 XWA) listed on their website. On Wednesday, I received an email confirmation from a online sales representative named Sophie, explicitly stating that the vehicle was "available and onsite at the Bootle branch (L30 6YW)".
Based on this official confirmation, my friend and I travelled all the way from Warrington to their Liverpool (Bootle) showroom on Saturday, specifically to view and test drive this car. However, upon arrival, the onsite sales team told us the car was not there at all, but was actually located at their Manchester branch.
To make matters worse, when I tried to follow up regarding viewing the car at the Manchester branch, I was suddenly told that the vehicle had been "sold".
This is a classic "Bait and Switch" tactic—advertising a high-spec vehicle at an attractive price as a decoy to lure customers into the showroom, only to tell them it's unavailable. It was a complete waste of our time, effort, and fuel. Very dishonest business practice. I would highly recommend buyers to avoid Motor Range and look for more reputable main dealers instead.

However, I would like to respectfully clarify the circumstances surrounding this situation, as we completely reject the suggestion that this was a "bait and switch" sales tactic.
Our records show that Sophie from our Contact Team emailed you on Wednesday to confirm that the Hyundai Ioniq was available and onsite at our Bootle branch at that time. In the same correspondence, she also explained that we offer the option to reserve vehicles with a fully refundable £99 deposit. This reservation process is specifically designed to help customers avoid disappointment when travelling to view a vehicle.
As a car supermarket, we operate in a very fast-paced environment and regularly sell a high volume of vehicles, particularly on Saturdays. While the vehicle was available when Sophie contacted you, it was sold before your visit later that week. Unfortunately, vehicle availability can change quickly, which is why we provide the reservation option.
We appreciate that travelling to the dealership and then discovering the vehicle was no longer available would have been frustrating, and for that disappointment, I sincerely apologise. However, there was never any intention to mislead you, and the vehicle was genuinely available when the information was provided.
We value all customer feedback and are sorry that on this occasion we were unable to help you purchase the vehicle you were interested in. We wish you every success in finding the right car.

I feel really disappointed with my…
I feel really disappointed with my experience dealing with this company, I part exchanged a BMW 2series for a BMW i3, I was initially offered only £6000 for my car, the car I bought was just over £10000. When I said I was going to look at another garage the sales rep offered £200 more and I stupidly accepted. I was sold a warranty for £699 which I later decided to cancel as there were so many exclusions when I read the policy details which I only received after signing up. It took me weeks to get my refund from them.
I was lied to several times by staff members and the final straw was the day after I picked my car up my old car was on their website selling for £9500 !
I feel really upset that they do this to people. And so I would urge people to think again before using this company.
If you allowed no star I would give that score.

Regarding the extended warranty, although you had signed and agreed to the policy at the point of purchase, we nevertheless arranged a full refund as a gesture of goodwill when you later decided it was not suitable for your needs. We also apologise for the delay in processing this refund. As the warranty is administered through a third-party provider, there are a number of formal procedures and contractual cancellation processes that must be completed before funds can be released, which unfortunately can take some time.
With regard to your part exchange, we offered £6,200 for your vehicle, which was approximately £800 above the CAP Clean valuation. In addition, significant preparation costs were required to bring the vehicle up to our retail standards before it could be offered for sale.
We firmly believe the part-exchange figure offered represented excellent value, and you were under no obligation to accept it. As with any vehicle purchase, customers are welcome to obtain alternative valuations and compare offers before making a decision.
We regret that your experience has left you feeling dissatisfied and apologise for any frustrations caused during the process. We hope you are enjoying your BMW I3, and of course if we can provide any further assistance please don't hesitate to get in touch with us. We always strive to provide a fair, transparent, and professional service, and we appreciate your feedback as it helps us continue to improve.

I came in last week and seen Jason Williams and Ste Kouari, looking for new car had 2 in mind and wanted to know about part exchanging my car. As soon as we got into Motor range, Jason was welcoming and lovely made everything at ease, felt like I had known him 5 years never mind 5 mins. Once Jason had sorted his side of things he told me to go see Ste, again Ste was lovely and welcoming.. sorted everything for me even getting full settlement price for my car (love that 😂). Even though I had Ste’s head up the wall for a solid 2.5 hours after a few hiccups in the way we finally got there 😂, again felt like I had known Ste for 5 years not 5 mins even though I had been in there for about 5 hours 😂. Couldn’t fault them both at all, brilliant at what they do and would recommend these both to anyone! Even Gem looking to bring her car in to see these both now haha! Thanks lads! From Sophie & Ste W
