We want you to know that ODFI transfers (ACH withdrawals) are now live, so funds can be moved to an external bank. Additionally, we’re optimistic that virtual card access will be restored next week, with physical card ordering to follow shortly after. We’ll be expediting shipping to minimize delays wherever possible.

Regarding fees, Modak is committed to transparency. We do not charge monthly service or maintenance fees, and there are no hidden charges. Some premium or expedited services—such as funding via debit or credit card—may incur small fees, which are disclosed upfront, similar to many other fintech services. Our intention is to keep financial education accessible without burdening families with unnecessary costs.

We understand that the app’s usability is crucial, especially for teens. We continuously work on improving the app’s interface to make it intuitive and user-friendly, including features like setting spending limits and monitoring purchases easily through parent and teen dashboards. We understand how important it is to have control over your funding sources. If you're currently unable to stop or modify your direct deposit, it’s likely due to temporary restrictions related to our ongoing migration to a new banking partner. These restrictions are in place to protect user accounts during the transition and will be lifted shortly.

We currently support multiple ways to fund your teen's account, including debit cards, credit cards, ACH transfers, and direct deposit. However, some banks and cards may be blocked or limited by the issuing institution, which could explain why your debit card didn’t work. We're actively working with our payment partners to expand compatibility and reduce these issues.

We understand this situation has been frustrating, and we’re genuinely sorry for the disruption. Our goal is to provide a safer, more stable experience with this banking upgrade, and we're committed to making it right for every family impacted.

Surprise charges should never happen — Modak only processes transfers that are authorized by the parent account holder. If something didn’t go as expected, we’re here to help review it with you.
