Like everybody else, trying to open an account and it gets rejected for what looks like a perfectly clear image on my side. Clearly a poorly configured system with limited camera support.

Natwest just lost a premier account customer because I was unable to get through miteks process. I consider myself tech savvy but the mitek system is jusg not fit for purpose

I would give a 0 if possible, absolutely horrid service when applying to banks such as NatWest, they just end up rejecting you for no reason and give no explanation whatsoever.

Link sent to me after being denied reentry to Credit Karma website. Trying to verify my identity to regain access to my credit rating information on the Credit Karma website but unless you have a cellphone and a business email attempting to gain access is a total waste of time. I work solely on a iPad with which Mitek does not appear to be tech compatible. There is no live support or direct email contact information. Frustrating and worthless for the average (non business) user. There appears to be no human interaction with all robotic generated generic, often unrelated, responses to all inquires. I have no idea of others success but it is difficult to image their experiences are any more lacking in success than my 30 minute waste of time.

I'd vote zero stars if i could. This garbage app won't take a photo. The company who hired Mitek can't help. Mitek don't answer the phone. Utterly useless.

Absolutely hopeless system. Instructions just say 'move slowly to place face in circle'. No combination of movement, distance or lighting makes anything happen, it just sits there and prevents getting any further through verification.

Our broker (Hargreaves Lansdown) now uses this system periodically to collect a form signed by two of the Trustees (of whom I am one) that none of the Trustee details has changed. So, I duly uploaded the signed form to be told subsequently by Hargreaves Lansdown that one of the two Trustees had not signed the form they had received. I had kept a copy on my computer which showed both signatures and the dates of each signature. When I rang Hargreaves Lansdown, they looked at the form on their systems which suggested that neither of the Trustees had signed! However, they confirmed that the dates of each signature were visible to them!! Their suggestion - send the form by post instead. Welcome to the 21st century Mitek-style!

Inappropriate. Unethical organization forcing you to do unnecessary and intrusive scans of face and documents in coordination with your bank. You can’t carry on doing basic banking without complying. Very sad to treat people this way.
Over 50 years of banking and first time this is being enforced. Tyrannical.

Would give it -5 stars if I could.. Got rejected for credit card despite id docs being absolutely fine. Natwest are losing a lot of business from this aweful system!!

Every time I did upload the document as requested by NatWest it keeps saying you need different doc. The doc uploaded is the original doc.

Possibly the worst thing I've ever had the displeasure of using. Literally doesn't work for the one thing it should work for. How do we give negative scores?

Absolute rubbish

Appalling. Used 2 Smart phones trying to open an Ulster account. Passport accepted. Driving licence accepted. Lifeness check accepted. But IDs subsequently rejected, reason not explained. Having contacted Ulster, they know Mitek is rubbish but do nothing about it. Sorry, Ulster/RBS but I remember Fred Goodwin and his shabby approach to customer care. You haven´t moved on since his day and you have lost my custom.

Would give a minus score if I could. Absolute waste of time. Really worried that they have a lot of my data and I now want it deleted as there is no way I'm carrying on with this farce and will just take my investments elsewhere. Anyone who makes you jump through this many hoops just so you can invest your savings is just not worth bothering with. Shame for the banking companies who rely on them. I just wish there was a way to get all my data deleted. I don't trust them. Please do NOT attempt to use this company.

Looks like we better watch for this company to be on the dark web list of our Identity Theft reports. They say it takes 3 times for facial identity recognition to lock in. after my 2nd attempt, I refused to upload my doc and face again. -- Then my survey for ending the call didn't go through with an error. -- It seems out of all 1 star reviews at the time of my review July 7, 2026 and 95 prior reviews, Intuit and CreditKarma have become a part of this janky software that is useless with verifications. So I'm adding my complaint to the buch.

Absolutely awful and such a waste of time! Tried opening a natwest credit card but the ID verification tool is beyond awful and so dysfunctional. Never again, never!
