I met a Merseyflow employee on holiday and she said don’t complain as they just laugh at complaints as it’s only about money nothing else , SAYS IT ALL

I have just received 4 penalties for 4 crossings with more to come. I haven’t used the bridge for over 3 years as I use the m6/m62 instead following hours spent trying to pay the toll.
My son,a resident of Widnes ,a season ticket holder for the bridge as he works in Runcorn, made the mistake of borrowing my car for a couple of weeks. So residents be well aware you’re not immune from receiving fines. Full marks to Merseyflow and the Halton council it’s a great way of boosting income. Lovely bridge by the way but get toll booths on it or give people at least 2 -4 weeks to pay.

I was trying to get to runcorn and got lost I ended up going over the brigh I didn't know u would get a fine its disgusting that u have to pay

Why can there not be a toll booth? That way you wouldn’t have to send out fines of £20 for a £2 fee.

I almost forgot this evening after visiting my family over the bank holiday. But I guess that’s what they’re hoping.

Cannot change vehicle on app! Tried on webpage to reset password and says email and vehicle plate not recognised. They don’t make it easy to pay!!!!! But they do whack you with a fine of you don’t - joke!

Slow cumbersome payment process doesn’t support PayPal or Apple Pay. Such a hassle!

Wish I could give it minus stars. Disgusting scam. Fined £22 for not paying a £2 toll on the toll road. I am not from the area and wasn't aware it was a toll road. There are no barriers or booths to pay. I didn't see any signage. Why would merseyflow believe that people would take a risk and not pay a toll for the sake of £2??? Ridiculous, a trap to catch people out and make more money. I won't be going to that area again.

Absolute genius set up - no toll booths and no prompt to pay online. Obviously knowing that everyone will forget to pay. The fines are automatically generated so why can’t a letter be automatically generated the day after use to remind people to pay? Even if it was twice the cost of you needed to be prompted rather than £20 plus £2 for crossing. Whoever thought of this must have got a huge pay rise with the money it raises. Immoral to say the least but what’s the point in moaning, absolutely no way to refuse to pay.

Utterly disgusting that this is set up to generate fines. There should be a pay station where people can pay by coin or card if they wish to. Instead they make millions from the numerous fines that are generated because busy motorists have forgotten to pay by the time they've completed their journey. Designed to generate fines !!!!

Online webpage is incomatable with mobile phones. Absolutely disgusted with this pirate of a company

Today I got letter and penalty charge crossing bridge Merseyside gateway bridge southbound 14/07/2023
I wasn't near this bridge for moths and I checked I was working in Manchester I have prove I was not there and I did repored to police and I sent for them all documents I wasn't there .
But how you can make money with photoshp.and sent for me my car pic

Said they hadn't received my payment even though my bank showed it had been taken and then send me fines I then payed the fines and they again said they hadn't received that either then 4months down the line are trying to get debt collects to collect over 4000pounds for over 300+ crossings that have never been made and cannot send me proof that those crossings have been made......absolute scam and scumbags that are there to rip people off con people out of money and try to abuse their powers by ruining people life's! It's about time these people and this scam was burnt to the ground for what they do!!

Was fined going over the Runcorn bridge and won an appeal with the traffic enforcement centre. I was refunded £30 and was told no future payments would be taken. Today £116 was illegally taken. When I call merseyflow they are no help.

I would give absolutely no stars if possible. Paid online for crossing. No confirmation and no receipt but it came out of my bank. Rang and they said nothing received so I had to pay again over the the phone. It is now showing as taken twice from my bank. I am on holiday and having to faff about with this so I don’t get a penalty charge.
Merseyflow, if you’re going to do online payments, PLEASE make sure your systems are fit for purpose.

Imagine you forget to pay the fine, the letters go to your old address and by the time you get them the penalty has doubled. You cannot contest it because you are constantly behind the process chasing the council and Merseyflow so you just pay it, only to be told oh that's just for 1 crossing. what a joke of as company and legal system, there's a cost of living crisis, we are working non stop to pay bills but sure take my money and constantly threaten me with legal action in the process and hang up on me when I call.

Put 1 star as zero is not available. Impossible to register on the website... I have no idea how to pay. Merseyflow is worst operator ever - website not clear, not working, useless... But worst think is that no one reads opinions and do nothing to improve!

M56 closed, late at night, hard to see, ridiculous amount of cars and lorries, and lots of confusing diversions, as the signs were completely useless. I didn't know I had gone on a toll road until I recieved the fine!!!!

What a joke of a toll.

My sat nav directed me over the toll bridge and luckily for me I knew it was a toll bridge because whilst concentrating on an unfamiliar road I did not see any toll signs. This was on a Friday night and on Sunday morning I went online to find how to pay only to find out I should have paid the night before, what a small window and where does it tell you that in big enough letters whilst driving over the toll bridge. I’ve waited ages for the fine to come through, yet I only had 24 hours to pay the toll. Double standards.

Very unreasonable and an absolute Joke, merseyflow should be ashamed of this process but who cares when who knows how many unaware motorists are filling the pockets of these greedy unreasonable people.

I paid the fine straight away just like I wanted to pay the toll in what I considered a reasonable time frame and will never be using that bridge again.

Website was down all of Sunday meaning I couldn't pay, no I have a fine for £22. Con men
