I'd like to thank Tom & GeorgePenalty notice for…
I'd like to thank Tom & George for their help and support after my card rejected the auto pay system and I ended up with a penalty fine.
I explained it to them and my penalty was withdrawn and I naid the normal fees with my new card.
Thank you for your understanding and kindness.
Rip off compared with Dublin
It's set up to catch anyone who is not aware to charge you big fines. It stinks. I just had a fine from the motorway toll in Dublin. I didn't pay £3.20 on time and got a £3.20 fine added to the fee. That's a system set up for the people not corporate greed.
Diabolical set up, designed to make you pay by penalty
Diabolical set up. You drive across and then by 11:59pm the next day you have to make sure that short journey across the bridge run by Merseyflow is the centre of your life and remember to pay the toll, they say it’s to reduce congestion. Ok, fine. In that case, issue an invoice as a reminder.
Unfortunately, this is how companies are allowed to operate in the era of the Tories. Customers are never at the heart of any business like this. Businesses like this are only ever about making as much money as possible and sod the customer.
Merseyflow, where forgetting to pay is in their business plan. Licensed crooks.
Hopeless.
Hopeless.
They need to take a look at the Mersey Tunnel system. Works well and all our cars are registered for automatic payment.
I opened an account with merseyflow
I opened an account with merseyflow, all good, until, I changed vehicles. They said I had no account, received notice of fines. Called them to let them know, waived the fines and said they would cancel account (I no longer had the correct password),
Made a few crossings, tried to pay and could not, because the account was open.
Called them several times, had 8 notices, they said I could make a representation on their website, I can’t it requires the password for the old account. Had phone conversation and it was very much as if they were robots.
They kept telling me you this and you then… do this.
Tried 8 times while she was on the phone. Kept on telling her it would not let access any service without password and old email address.
Her remedy was for me to send in written letters, meanwhile my fines are £400 and rising, I have to avoid bridge now, this adds another 40 minutes to my workday.
Absolutely disgusting, they have caused all this and I have to be talked over by their staff, wasn’t even getting to complete a sentence. Put the phone down because I said bloody hell.
I am lost for words to describe this debacle.
Customer service nil.

No interest in reality nor out of order issues on their system!
I had to go to Liverpool and realised on the way home that there was a bridge charge. I paid this online (the only way) and then received a warning letter claiming to have sent a penalty notice for the first crossing - that letter never arrived... I owed them £2. The only method of payment available to me was a phone number. This line rang "out of order" for days!! Fortunately I had an email address but they kept insisting that I had to use the phone number to make payment! (or I could drive back to Liverpool and go their offices to pay £2, making another 2 x £2 crossings in the process and using approximately £20 fuel to do this!???? When I was at my wits end, I found Resolver and within a day Merseyflow had miraculously come to their senses and allowed me to pay and send an email of confirmation. Why could they not have done this in the first place?? I think they were just looking for excuses to issue penalties and further charges. A disgrace! Bordering on corruption?
Money making scam
For what this worth
Your toll bridge is a total scam. I am an irregular user of your toll bridge. I accidentally forgot to pay online for a return crossing I made. This is easily done in everyone's busy lives and surely many law abiding citizens are caught out by your system which does not allow for immediate payment for the occasional use of this crossing ie a toll booth or some other method common in many countries. There is a cost of living crisis in case you may have not realised and this is just a cash cow to make some fat cat even richer. I have noted your bridge gets many complaints for similar complaints yet nothing is ever done to improve the system. There is a difference between accidently forgetting that I used a toll bridge and willfully not paying for a crossing . For all the technology surely you can send a reminder to pay for use of this bridge before sending a fine. At least you can add this complaint to the list of many.Thank you for spoiling my day. I hope you at least donate some of my fine to a good cause that will cheer me up.
Received my first fine on the toll and…
Received my first fine on the toll and I don’t even know where it is, never been to the area, made contact via email to inform them,I got a reprieve having explained they had the wrong registration expecting they would update their records , sent 4 other tickets which I refuse to make contact and waste my time. I am now threatened with court action. How could Mercyflow got it so wrong. It was there in Black and White but no one followed up on the error I point out to them. Annoyed with the clerical mistake that admin didn’t pick before threatening court action. Get a grip Mersey and sort your self out. Furious I am with you…
What a con
We went across this bridge for the first time ever in August. We're not local to the area so had no idea it was an even a toll bridge. Three of us were in the car. I was concentrating on the road at the end of a long day, my partner was checking the phone for the best route and the other passenger was looking out of the window. Where are all the signs that three of us didn't see them? What a stupid system. I have received a letter today telling me that I now owe £60 because I didn't pay the first fine of £40, even though I never received a £40 penalty letter. What an absolute con. I get the feeling they don't want people to see the signs so that they can rake in the cash with penalty fares. If you're going to have a boothless toll (which I didn't even know was a thing until I received the penalty letter today and started Googling) then the signs ned to be absolutely massive and everywhere.
Awful system sending out fines one…
Awful system sending out fines one after another because their payment system is not syncing with card payments. They continue to send fines for not paying (even if you have) until you make a complaint and prove that you have paid (they ONLY accept payment receipts as proof). I was paying the fines thinking that I was wrong hadn't paid by mistake but after the third fine I checked and they were wrong. They refunded the fine payment and cancelled the second fine. I wonder how many drivers have paid fines when they didn't have to?
It’s a bridge
It’s a bridge - it allowed me to cross the water. It cost £2 - I paid the fee using the easy to use portal. This all happened exactly as I expected it to.
The website is awful
The website is awful. Frequently it tells me my car registration is not known. Have been unable to set up a direct debit due to a fault on the system, and it saying there is a code fault. Several emails and phone calls have not resolved it. I was just told to keep trying, 'the problem might resolve itself'. I am still getting an email reminder to renew my local user account and to set up a direct debit. What a joke, the profits this company must be making, they should spend some of it on a decent app.
The MerseyFlow website is Useless
The MerseyFlow website is absolutely useless. Try to ask a question, it lets you fill in all the information then will not respond to the Submit button. Try to set up a Direct Debit and it tells you that the PTCABSCode field is required and will not progress the submission.
This is another example of an offshore company fleecing the hard pressed public and it is about time we all started to react much more forcibly.
Paying PCN under duress - what a profit making scam!
On business driving to get a flight from Liverpool and the first time I've used this route with Sat Nat. Saw the signs to pay before midnight the next day, arrived in Poland same day to setup exhibition over 4 days, checked in had tea and planned my exhibition totally forgetting about paying. Upon return to the UK a few days later tried to pay and was unable to do so as the next day midnight timescale had elapsed. Now got a PCN through the post. Do you think I've spent over £10k on an exhibition in Poland to avoid paying a £2 toll. This is a total scam - MerseyFlow is Emovis Operations Mersey Ltd - Search companies house website company number 06652372 with some Spanish Directors. This company seemed to turnover £10.8 million in 2021 with a gross profit of £9 million with 114 employees. £1million was paid in dividends in 2021. If this is not a profit making scam then I don't know what is. I'm taking this information to my local MP. I'd appreciate if everybody else could too!! I'm paying the PCN under duress!
Awful phone and website service
Awful automated phone payment and website payment service. Keeps
Crashing and failing to process payments for crossings resulting in extra charges being incurred.
Trying to register a vehicle to pay for…
Trying to register a vehicle to pay for forthcoming trip. Almost impossible. shocking company
Options for Merseyflow sufferers
By reading the reviews accruing on Trustpilot since my encounter with this shower, I see Merseyflow continue to behave disgracefully. My case was resolved but only after complaining to the Transport Secretary of State. Up until that time, I experienced all the problems that others have listed here. Once they were copied with my letter to the SoS, the response was unbelievably rapid and I received £80 in compensation. While the Secretary of State will wash his hands of the matter, if the Government department continues to be inundated with complaints about this outfit, who knows what's possible.
Money making scam
This company is a money making scam, I came home to Liverpool Airport late on a Friday and forgot to pay until Sunday morning, less than 40 hours later. The App said my payment would not be accepted and would be considered an advance payment for a trip in the next 12 months. So you can pay a year in advance but only the next day or you get fined if you forget on the actual day. This is a rip off and the company should be ashamed.
Forgot to pay toll, but phoned and sorted it!
I've used the toll 2 or 3 times and remembered to pay by midnight previously. But on my last crossing I had forgot to pay before the midnight deadline, it was 3 days later. After visiting their website it stated if this happens then don't pay the toll of £2 each way and wait for the fine. I thought I'd phone them just to see if they would accept the toll payment by card over the phone, and was so happy when they did saving me a fine. So if you forget, it's well worth getting on the phone ASAP and not just wait for the fine. I've give 4 stars as I think the deadline for paying is far too short.
Crooks!
Crooks!!
Obviously they want to make it difficult to pay as they want to make money. Disgusting that they only give you until midnight on the day to pay. Its so easy to forget, especially when you have a young family and other things going on. I used the bridge a few weeks ago for a journey in both directions so have been fined twice.
Why not just put toll gates in!? Oh yeah - because the greedy so and so's want you to forget to pay as then they will get £44 from a return journey rather than £4.
