Complete rubbish, owned this unit from new over 2 years now and during that time it can take ages to connect to internet radio, mostly have to go back into settings and reconfigure but can then still be temperamental and this is the same with USB media. If I load a lot of songs or album to a USB stick and put it into this unit it plays no problem but after turning the unit off and back on again at some point it refuses to load anything from the USB again.

The only thing this unit is good at is playing normal radio and CD's.

Pathetic and Marantz support is useless. They offer NO help.

Marantz customer care

I bought a Marantz PM6006 Amp from Superfi in Derby around a year ago. No issues with the initial amp quality but it abruptly stopped working around the time Superfi went bust. If you ever get put in this position then you are in real trouble because Marantz UK know nothing of customer care. I was asked to lug the amp to a different city (Nottingham) and leave it with a store there who would send it back to Marantz. No issues with them, it came back in a fortnight and you guessed it .......same fault. It had not been repaired. Marantz UKs answer to this? Oh sorry bring it back (30 mile round trip + 1 mile walk with heavy amp). None of them stick their heads above the parapet, hiding behind e mail. My advice would be to give this tinpot outfit a wide berth.

Acheté ampli tuner lecteur CD Marantz MCR612 . L'USB ne fonctionnait pas et avec le vendeur, SonvIdéo, on envisageit un retour du produit. Ai contacté Marantz: en 1/2 heure tout était réglé avec des explications claires et précises.En fait l'ampli fonctionnait très bien. Bravo à Marantz et si vous souhaitez une chaîne HIFI ampli tuner lecteur de DC, lecteur d'USB ou encore de l'écoute de vos musiques installées sur votre smartphone (etc etc) foncez . Le fonctionnement complet peut se faire à partir votre smartphone par l'appli "HEOS". Excellent suivi client avec mail de confirmationde la part de Marantz (je n'ai pas d'action chez eux rassurez vous).C'est suffisamment rare pour que celà soit dit. Didier

Cd6006uk

Have owned now for a year,the marantz cd6006uk version cd player. So far im happy even though this is the first marantz hifi product ive had in 45 years of being interested in hifi. I bought this to replace a cambridge audio azur 351c disc spinner which i had for 4 years. The reason for upgrade was i had a problem with the drawer loader on the cambridge which is very common if you look on the internet. Drawer only shutting partially or opening partially being the problem. The sound was ok but i was looking for more clarity and a better stereo stage. The cd6006uk appears to get better day by day. Clarity is better,there is solidity to instrument positioning and it has a headphone outlet & built in amp that the cambridge hasnt. Was a bit surprised to see "made in vietnam" on the back . It really sounds well playing my 70's cd's which arent always the best quality recordings. There is no harshness in the treble and bass is nice and solid. Bit dissapointed there is no "eject" on the remote and to be honest,the cambridge remote was pure class compared to the cd6006uk. I would have liked to have gone a bit crazy and get the cyrus cdi but was put off by bad reviews . Who needs an "alfa romeo" problem with their hifi so 12 months down the line im happy

So paid 750 Pounds for a SR6012 few…

So paid 750 Pounds for a SR6012 few months ago in Feb 2019. In 2 months time the unit has become defective. I agree with the previous reviewer. This company's products have become substandard junk. Avoid buying them. Get yourself a cambridge audio or something that works!

Best AV Receiver I owned!

Bought a SR7011 and couldn't be happier. Had to call support and chatted with a very helpful guy. Couldn't figure out what to audio wouldn't automatically switch when using ARC channel. Turns out, it was a setting on my Sony TV causing the issue. Very helpful. Thing sounds great! Better than my previous Pioneer Elite. Didn't think that was possible. Bought it from an AV store that also happens to be a Marantz authorized repair center! Very nice folks also!

Cheaply Made Junk

This stuff is now cheaply made, disposable Chinese junk with poor quality control. This is not just my opinion, but is held by a very knowledgeable electronics repair person who helped me out. I purchased a SR 7007 for $1600 about three years back. Right after the warranty expired, the red light on the front began blinking, and the unit would not turn on. Maranta customer service was of little help, and, a manager there told me, basically, "tough luck". They do NOT stand behind their products or give a damned about quality or customer satisfaction. There is also no Marantz authorized repair center in my area. I don't live in the middle of nowhere, but near Milwaukee WI. The nearest one is somewhere in Illinois. I took it back to the Mayfair Best Buy, where their Geek Squad kept it a month, before telling me they couldn't get parts to repair it! What is more, it turns out that there was a grace period from Marantz for three months on the warranty, but Best Buy kept it over the expiration period. They did not consult with Marantz. What is more, they did not actually even analyze the problem or clean the receiver as they claimed. This was verified by the expert I ended up taking my expensive paper weight to. Best Buy has no business selling higher end audio equipment. When I called Marantz about this, I was told that this was between Best Buy and myself. They did not care that a company representing and selling their crap was giving poor service. I am done with both companies. I just ended up taking the receiver to a man who had repaired something for me in the past, and I knew was reasonable, very knowledgeable, and fair. I paid him for the repair, as I had no choice. I had a three year old non-functioning expensive receiver. He went through the entire thing, and found out that the issue was defective welds on a circuit board from the Chinese factory, and he re-soldered them. The unit works now. I am certain that this is a fault that has been replicated and in many units, as they are produced on an automated line. So, I called Marantz and told them about their production issue, and poor quality control. And, as you might guess, there was little concern shown. Avoid this junk! I should have shelled out the extra cash, and gone McIntosh as I considered, though, for all I know they use cheap Asian boards too. I bet this US company would stand behind their name and reputation, though.

Horrible service & defective Marantz SR7011 Receiver

I ordered a Marantz SR7011 receiver on January 3, 2017, which cost nearly $2000, and when I received it I found that it did not work properly. I called Marantz customer support and spoke to a very rude support agent named Shakima (not sure how to spell her name). During the call she was not only rushing me to try to get me off the phone but she said the only thing she could do is send me an email with information about a service center where I could ship the unit I just purchased to have it repaired. I told her I should not have to pay to ship the receiver off for repair and then be without anything until they fixed it and returned it to me. I asked what if I want to return the receiver because it didn't work when I bought it and she replied by saying "why are you trying to argue with me"? I said I was not arguing I was just asking how to go about returning it if I didn't want to ship it to a repair center. She repeated that she will email me the information without answering my question. Then I said I want to speak to someone else that can help me and asked her to transfer me to a manager. She asked me why I wanted to speak to a manager and I said because she was not helping me and the unit was defective when I received it. She then said "I did help you" and I told her again that I want to talk to a manager because when I spend a lot of money on a product I expect the company to stand behind their product and fix the problem rather than trying to get me off the phone. Then she said she would transfer me to a manager and she hung up on me. After waiting on hold for 20 minutes to speak to representative in the first place and then being treated with disrespect by a rude "customer support" agent that was just trying to rush me off the phone without helping solve my problem, and then being hung up on when I asked for someone else to help me, I am totally disgusted by the horrible service I got from Marantz. For years I incorrectly thought Marantz was a great company that made a quality product and I referred many people to them. Now when I spend my hard earned money on an expensive product and there is a problem I see what kind of company they really are. They don't stand behind their product or service and once they have your money you are on your own even if the product does not work.

Stay away from this company. At one time in the past they had good products and customer service but unfortunately this is no longer the case. Marantz has some of the worst customer service I have ever seen and if you spend a lot of money and receive a defective product don't expect to get any help from Marantz.

Rule Customer service

Recently I logon to Live Chat at Marantz "Contact Us" page.

The person whom attended me is Michael Summers. He was unhelpful and rude. I asked about about firmware update as I'm unable to update my SR7007.

He keep insisting that there was no updates for SR7007(which is lie) and SR7007 is old set therefore it no longer has any updates(also another lie).
And since there are no bugs on SR7007, no new firmware is needed (Another lie as well).

I asked about spotify that requires firmware update for it to work, he just brushes me away by saying it only possible by using Ipod. (why this guy just keep telling lies?)

The next question I've asked is firmware update for SR7007 to support 24/192kHz gapless FLAC/ALAC from the media server, he's reply was "It supports 192 khz at 24bit, do you have a question about it?"
Before I could explain to him about the firmware is needed for my SR7007 to able to play 24/192kHz gapless FLAC and ALAC files, He disconnects.

I like Marantz products as has good quality build and high sound quality.
But I'm find it hard to purchase another Marantz product again knowing that support live chat has very bad customer service and being very rude as well.

I apologize if I sound rude at the moment but I didn't pay hard earn cash money to be rudely brushed away and receive lies from support.

Melody Media M-CR610, what a system 5*

Recently my wife and I decided to buy ourselves a new music system, the retailers service was fantastic with next dat delivery FOR FREE.

This is some system, it dose everything you could want, Air Play, Internet Radio, DAB Radio, FM Radio, play CD's, Music Streaming Services and Stream Music from a NAS (network attached storage) or Computer.

The quality of sound is fabulous - I know that's got a lot to do with the Speakers I bought, but there is no audible distortion, hiss or anything else.

There is an App to control most of the functions too

Really pleased with this and I highly recommend it to all, look at the reviews from the HiFi mags there great.
