Unreliable

I purchased my M-CR412 some 18 months ago, after which it developed a fault. The retailer, Richer Sounds, returned it to the manufacturer for repair, but when it came back the fault remained. The same thing occurred a second time, after which Richer Sounds credited my with their equivalent purchase price. Stupidly, in retrospect, I bought an even more expensive Marantz product. Having read these reviews, I now feel cheated, since it appears highly likely that the item will prove highly unreliable. How do Marantz get away with it ???

Marantz et le Service client

Très fan des ampli et lecteurs Marantz depuis 20ans, je me suis heurté au SAV européen qui est une catastrophe. Ma Consolette MS7000 devait être réparée, mais leur Station service LAB7 sur Paris m'a dit que les pièces de rechange n'étaient plus dispo (matériel de moins de 5 ans). Le service client de la marque a botté en touche royalement à la limite de la connaissance de leur propre produit. Bref, un SAV catastrophique à l'image de pas mal de groupes qui vendent mais ne sont plus là quand il s'agit de garantie ou de durabilité ... qui pourtant est dans l'air du temps.

Awful company

Awful company. No support, just stupid generic answers, if they answer at all. Quality of equipment is poor. Network does not work properly after firmware update, CD player just does not work. Now I have an expensive media amp Cr—611, that I have to use as an Hifi amp with separates connected to it because it’s internal hardware is useless. Don’t buy. It is a pity because I like the sound, but I will never buy Marantz again.

Shame on you marantz.

I'm surprised to read all of these terrible reviews.
I have vintage marantz signature hifi and apart from the odd cap or trans they have been faultless. Mine were made in Japan in the 1980s when things were made with pride. Just wondering if the more modern stuff is crap made in China and customer service does not exist unless you are the sweat shop factory owners son.
I am disappointed and angry that marantz do not help their customers and have written to a local Japanese newspaper near marantz headquarters with the links to marantz UK and .com reviews because someone is not doing their job correctly. I hope I will get an answer very soon.

MARANTZ customer service is non…

MARANTZ customer service is non existent purchased exploration in to sound LP for £75 arrived damaged, phoned for help was told they will email a returns label which they haven't very poor service.

Marantz - Worst Customer Service Ever

Bought a Marantz MCR-610. The app doesn't work. Continually crashes. Contacted Marantz regarding this several times and then gave up when they refused to respond. THEN the Bluetooth began to fail. THEN 'Spotify Connect' began to crash, requiring constant reboots. The unit was returned to Marantz who sent it back to me untouched, claiming there was nothing wrong with it! THEN - after the warranty had expired - the USB began to crash every few tracks. THEN they cancelled their internet radio service. THEN - after minimal use - the CD player stopped reading any CDs! The worst HiFi I have ever owned. Don't bother contacting customer services. They simply DO NOT RESPOND. Awful.

Would give 0 stars if I could.

Absolutely terrible customer service for my amp that randomly broke. No apologies, no curtesy, just fobbed off to a repair centre.
I will not be buying Marantz ever again and will be sharing my experience with social media, colleagues, friends and family.

Bad Audio

Bought the MPM1000 USB and quality of audio is atrocious. Got better results with my DSLR camera.

MARANTZ suck!

Awful company. Their app to control my M-CR610 has been buggy since day 1. System requires factory reset and reconfig almost every month. Shameful that they even brand this with their name. Have fed back issues to support team, and never received reply.
Waste of money.
Subsequently they applied an annual subscription charge for internet radio. RANSOM to listen to radio on the box you've paid for.

Don't buy

Don't buy. They don't support their products. If anything fails they don't want to know. I bought M-CR610 receiver specifically for internet radio capability but their chosen provider no longer functions and Marantz do not offer a software solution. Buy Yamaha instead - they care about their customers.

AVOID MARANTZ AT ALL COST!!!!! Bought new expensive Marantz Sorround receiver - 2.000 EUR for a receiver. 2 weeks after warranty runs out it breaks down completely - no misuse or anything. Completely broken inside, the product is just plain out bad and undurably made. And as a private person there is no way to get in contact with Marantz. Avoid this firm at all cost!!!!

It's impossible to get someone to " chat " with and the site for dtsX is down is completely down.. then you get sent into a circle.. there is no option to upgrade SR7010
..the hours they list to speak to someone on the phone are not correct.. they no longer say their hours of operation.. I love this receiver, absolutely no complaints ( well one..I wish it had Tidal !).. I waited a full hour online waiting to "chat " it said my wait time was zero seconds..yet never any assistance.
..of course Covid will be the blame..even though it's online...I just need help and it's a huge mess..all old information.. my question is simple ..an I to assume that my av receiver now has dtsX ?.. it says it's up to date ..except the one that cost.. but , I just want to make sure..if these are "future proof " why is the SR7010 no longer and option to update to dtsX..maybe someone reading this review can help ... Please.. I can't get through to Marantz..

Still under warranty, but they do not stock parts!!

Still under warranty, I have the AV7705. PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE, even though they still sell this unit! It completely quit and requires service. All parts are now obtained through Encompass Parts. I will end up waiting SEVERAL MONTHS!!!! just to get this working, even under warranty!! This warranty is of ZERO value if parts are not available. Even when the part arrives, I am told it will not be new, it will be refurbished. I will never buy Marantz equipment again in my life and I will be sure to post this on as many websites as possible. AVOID MARANTZ!!! it sounded great, it was not durable, they cannot fix these in the United States. I would give this a negative 5 stars if possible. Very dishonest company and they will not answer any phone at any contact number, I have tried them all. I now have no theater through Thanksgiving and Christmas and into January. shame on this company and all the retailers that sell this equipment.

Marantz NR1711 AVR

Overall, not as good as it should be.
No way to turn off network easily. I don't need to be connected all the time - I guess unlike the modern young generation of clueless designers.
Remote control doesn't have lit buttons. Even my Lidl £19 remote has lit buttons.
Penny pinching.

I have owned many Marantz products over…

I have owned many Marantz products over the years and i can say hand on heart i have never had a single problem i always look after my equipment and keep it well ventilated i currently own Pm6006 - Cd6006 - Na6006 - St6003 used for 2 channel music and a recent upgrade to my home cinema receiver from a Nr1508 to a Sr7013 which is an outstanding receiver easy to set up and sound quality that blows me away i have the bug to upgrade my 2 channel set up now after hearing the Sr7013 and i will without hesitation choose Marantz products again. Great work Marantz.

Keep away from this product

Bad remotes. Breaks fast.
No radio's can be added unless i pay a small fee of 3 dollar a year. Looses connection after a couple of hours. I will NEVER buy a product from Marantz again.
It is a NA 6005 i have. I allways had Panasonic and Technics in my younger days...NEVER had a problem witn any of them....
Time to go back in time...i think...

I purchased marantz mcr611 cd network dab system just over 3 yrs ago from Nottingham hi fi
I have had this unit repaired 3 times as the CD does not play
I have had it repaired 3 times in the first 3 years with same issue
I will honestly tell you in the 3 years of use I have at the most used the CD facility a dozen times as I use it for TV sound ONLY.
It has the same issue again & again
My unit is now passed its official guarantee period but I feel I have been dealt a bum card with this unit and would appreciate a call back regards my experience
I received an email from marantz. Co. UK stating my warranty is had just ran out & & I would have to now pay for repair.
To be honest I was highlighting to marantz the same issue I had 3 times that kept re accuringwithout me even using it & 16 thought they would see my problem and that I was sold a Duff machine (cost £339) & as a good will gesture they might see this was no fault of mine & carry out the repair AGAIN without cost to me...... But no. Poor product MARANTZ MCR611 STAY CLEAR & Marantz aftercare Nonexistent !

Bonjour

Bonjour, j'ai acheté une chaîne Hifi MCR611 il y a 2 ans avec une fonction Webradios car j'habite en campagne et ne capte pas grand chose en hertzien. depuis le debut d'année se service et devenu payant, sans aucune autre alternative. Je trouve lamentable de faire payer un service qui est gratuit et vendu avec cette appareil qui coute 600€.
Pour cette raison je deconseile l'achat de tout les produits Marantz et tous ceux qui utilisent les services de la plateforme Vtuner.

I recently bought a Marantz AV 7013 and a Marantz power amp . I was told to save money by my local Marantz dealer and purchase one of there sister company AV amps a Dennon . By doing this I would have saved myself over £600 ,but I liked the lookl of the Marantz’ set up.I was continually on the Marantz help line from the start who I may so was helpful. But after the second time in so many months it went into safe mode for no reason so I called customer service and asked for a new amp as it was only months old . I was told immediately that’s not going to happen and should ship the amp back to the mainland at my expense I refused that offer and after some debate they offered to pay postage but I still wanted a new amp . They said that will not happen I told the advisor I worked in customer service at a high end BMW dealership he replied we’re not BMW.I replied but you advertise your product as high end obviously some were that has got lost in translation.To end this i asked the advisor to keep informed with repairs this also did not happen as I had to contact Marantz about what was happening. Since then I have traded the amp in with the dealer who were very professional in Peter Tyson’s thanks Paul , but taking a hit of £600 at my expense on another well known AV manufacturers and I am delighted with the performance and quality of the amp. To summarise a poor Quality product and a very poor quality customer service
