Fraudulent company: Internet Radio Now Behind a Paywall
My Marantz device internet radio feature stopped working completely since January/February 2020. Instead it showed a message redirecting me to a really poorly designed PayWall website. It asked to pay a yearly subscription fee in order to continue using the internet radio feature of my Marrantz.
I was not informed about this during purchase in the RicherSounds store and it was not listed in the product specifications on the RicherSounds website.
It was an expensive purchase and it looks like a case of planned obsolescence. Under UK consumer laws, I should be able to use the features of the device I bought for at least 6 years. This is simply not a fair business practice on the part of Marantz.
Yamaha was using the same internet radio provider (vTuner) and when they forced a subscription, Yamaha immediately provided a firmware update for their devices so customer could continue to use the internet radio feature via free available alternative methods.
The fact that Marantz have made it clear we need to pay and that they won’t provide support via a firmware update to fix the issue is not acceptable under UK consumer laws.

Unlogische Reihenfolge von geforderten Eingaben. Internet-Radio zu Beginn eines Tage erfordert Neustart des Geräts bzw. Ziehen des Netzsteckers. HEOS Verbindung eine Katastrophe. Kundenunterstützung ist das allerletzte - keine Ownership - nur Abwiegeln und Weiterdelegieren. Twonky funktioniert auch nicht stabil mit diesem Gerät. Konsequenz: In diesem Leben werde ich und auch meine Bekannten (die teilweise auch Schwierigkeiten mit Marantz haben) nie mehr wieder ein Gerät von Marantz kaufen.

Merci Marantz. Enfin grâce à une (mise à jour sur le Marantz S70 stéréo). Le rajout de la fréquence de 70 Hertz en filtre passe-bas. Cela a résolu mes problèmes d'accord de fréquence et de calibrage ! Le caisson de basse démarre à faible volume et surtout la relation de phase avec les enceintes principales est parfaite, Aujourd'hui le système fonctionne très correctement. Alors je comprends certains avis défavorables, les amplis d'aujourd'hui sont totalement différents de ceux il y à 20 ans. Très dur à gérer assez complexe à régler, surtout quand vous créez un assemblage ampli, enceintes, caisson de basse avec 3 marques différentes "système Tri phonique"! Habe einen Marantz M CR612. Von Anfang an gab es Probleme mit der Heos App zur Bedienung via smartphone, die auch nicht besser wurden durch ständige updates. Jetzt, nach 4 1/2 Jahren lässt sich die Lautstärke nicht mehr regulieren , obwohl das Gerät selten benutzt wurde. Reparaturvorschlag eines vertraglichen Reparaturdienstes: 160 € . Würde ich nicht mehr kaufen!

I recently contacted Marantz about a problem with the receiver not getting sound to the speakers. The fellow Jamar spent 45 minutes with me and was very patient on every question I ask, he was fantastic. The company is so fortunate to have a employee like this. The company is fantastic for support if you have a problem you can get in contact with a live person. Again Jamar was fantastic and we solved all problems.

Ze hebben audio producten van hoogwaardigekwaliteit behalve heeft De Marantz X M-CR612 een supper slechte 4.1 Bluetooth die zelfs zo slecht is dat je hem zelfs niet kan gebruiken dus voor de mensen die willen muziek streamen met de Marantz X M-CR612 met Bluetooth koop hem zeker niet want de Bluetooth soks en hapert constant en loopt constant vast
De Bluetooth van mijn goedkoper Bluetooth speaker doet het stukken beter dan deze Marantz X melody CR612 die echt waardeloos is
En de zeer oude totaal voorbij gestreefde Bluetooth 4.1 SBC op een nieuw apparaat zetten is dan ook een pure schande en onaanvaardbaar
Every bit as bad as feared
2 years ago I wrote the review below dated 03 December 2022, outlining my reservations about the likely reliability of my Marantz Melody X M-CR612 . This was prescient : it has failed twice since, and the only saving grace is my extended warranty from Richer Sounds. THIS IS THE MOST UNRELIABLE ELECTRONIC SYSTEM THAT I HAVE EVER PURCHASED.

Dealing with NR1711 amp which i was informed had a 3 year warranty.
Sevenoaks the agent took the amp for a repair for over 12 weeks promising if it broke again they would replace it.
Just 5 months later the same thing happens. Not misuse but a common fault. So £700 up in smoke because they have an issue, take 3 months to repair, it's not 3 years it's now 2 years so I have effectivelyy been tricked.
For the price of a court case I think I will be taking this route.
So be warned even the "rated" agents are in it for the money not content to give a srvice. They are charlatans.
Last point Marantz replied to a warranty question within 24 hours via email.
My complaint has had no reply now for 5 days.
Court it is then.

We are both betting it can.
Marantz audio equipment? Dead man walking. No interest, no investment, shrinking market, still manufacturing, Ishiwata’s long gone and the fight has gone out of them, but their prices are still VERY high.
And the quality ISN’T.

Jeg kjøpte en Marantz m cr-611 for en stund siden. Har bare hatt problemer med den. Lyden er veldig varierende og til tider falsk. Vanskelig å spille av internettradio. Marantz har også VERDENS VERSTE APP. De oppdaterer den aldri og det gjør at det er vanskelig å betjene spilleren. Nå brukes den bare som bokstøtte.. Kommer aldri til å kjøpe Marantz mere. Bruker heller penger på andre merker som har bedre kvalitet.

La connexion Bluetooth est déplorable, avec des appareils différents ordinateur portable Acer, tablette Samsung, téléphone portable Galaxy S9 plus et Google pixel 7 pro donc ce n'est pas mes appareils! J'explique, impossible de connecter l'ordinateur portable sauf de temps en temps s'il le décide La connexion avec la tablette Samsung galaxy tab activ4 est très difficile il faut insister insister et encore et encore pour réussir à connecter une fois que cela est fait, vous lancer la musique et là c'est une catastrophe la mémoire tampon est vraiment pas fonctionnel il y a des coupures dans la musique, des accélérations, des ralentissements et cetera J'ai cherché des mises à jour j'ai rien trouvé Ensuite pour la clé USB, il est incapable de lire une clé de 128 Go incroyable de nos jours! 64 ça passe, OK j'essaie de mettre ma musique sur la clé Impossible de lire en aléatoire, vous êtes obligé de lire dans l'ordre qu'ils sont sur la clé Dernier petit bémol j'utilise un câble optique pour le son de la télé franchement pas terrible il faut mettre très fort pour avoir quelque chose de correct comparé aux autres sources, encore un truc, il faut allumer la télé pour voir les informations car l'écran sur l'amplis ne sert à rien bravo pour les économies d'énergie Mon ampli Yamaha seulement 450 € faisait mieux

J'ai acheté un ampli Marantz SR7013 d'une valeur de 2400 euros. Au bout de 2 ans d'utilisation, mon ampli tombe en panne. On me demande gentiment d'aller voir l'entreprise Lab 7 sur Paris (car sachez le que pour certaine marque, il n'y a que 2 entreprises agrées pour réparer, une Paris et l'autre à Lyon), qui après un diagnostique me dit que c'est LA CARTE MERE HDMI qu'il faut changer et prix des réparations 615 EUROS.
J'ai appelé le SAV de Marantz et il m'ont répondu que la garantie c'est 1 an et votre appareil a 2 ans.
Alors je leur ai demandé de faire un geste commercial et depuis aucune réponse.
Pour moi, c'est inadmissible de payer un ampli neuf à ce prix et qu'il tombe en panne au bout de 2 ans (1 carte mère).
Déçu de cette expérience.

new 1510 AVR faulty
Got a new 1510 AVR. Surround parameter didn't work, it switched itself off. I contacted support , after few days got a link to the user manual , and was advised to reset the AVR. I have the user manual and re-setting doesn't work. Very poor product and poor probably not well trained support. I hope I can return this AVR. Never Marantz/Denon again

I have marantz 1501 mint condition but now no sound or picture seems these units are known and there is no repair shame nice amp so bought second hand one that one crackles till capacitors are warmed up then it's OK many of these units in mint condition on eBay with same fault no sound no picture looks all glossy but when you start to research bad buy Sony here I come not spending cash on something that's breaks down after short period sadly disappointed

You'll find if you buy something with an internet radio, after you have had it a few years, you will be held to ransom and it won't work unless you start paying them an annual subscription.
DO. NOT. BUY. MARANTZ!
Or do so at your own peril. Their Heos app brakes the hifi equipment (by disabling the internet connectivity) and the way to fix it might or might not work depending on your model. Stay far away from Marantz or Denon for that matter. It affects that brand too. Marantz could easily release firmware so customers could restore Marantz' faulty updates but they choose not to. Instead they want 200 for just an initial look at the equipment in question at a repair shop. What a joke of a hifi-company.
