I generally use the office timeline to generate executive presentations

I generally use the office timeline to generate weekly/monthly executive status reports. I am able to download Microsoft project plans into the Officetimeline and generate high level timelines that can be inserted into Microsoft PowerPoint presentations.

Office Timeline is awesome.

I love Office Timeline so much. As a program manager, this is a super helpful tool when I am making company facing, easily digestible timelines. 2 suggestions:
1. In a swimlane, it would be really helpful to be able to be able to have milestones or events NEXT to each other, just like how you can up top with the little milestone flags. It would help me use the swimlane space more efficiently, instead of having each milestone be on its own "line"
2. Enable dependencies so that if I move milestone A out 3 months, the downstream milestones also move out 3 months, and i dont have to go through manually and do this.

With regards to your suggestions:

1) You can align multiple event-associated shapes on the same row/line within a swimlane by simply clicking on ”Edit Timeline” from the Office Timeline tab and then dragging and dropping any milestones in the intended position. When you finish repositioning your items, don’t forget to click on ”Save” so that the new layout is kept.

2) It is true that Office Timeline currently allows users to set dependencies ONLY between tasks. If you are interested in learning how to enable task dependencies so that dates are automatically updated when changes occur to the plan, please check out the support article below:

Meanwhile, I will forward your feedback related to the auto-shifting of milestone dates that are dependent on another ones to our dev team so that it can be taken into account for future releases. Great tool

I had a great experience using Office Timeline. The software made it easy to transition information from Microsoft Project and create timelines quickly. The software is priced competitively and is a great value for the money.

Save time

With this Add-in we can save time by updating automatically visual of our projects Timeline.

Sometimes, refresh function doesn't work properly when we make some change in excel file.
Also formatting functionalities should be improved.

With regards to the add-in’s formatting functionalities, I need to inform you that the tool can handle a variety of custom changes, but there are some that it doesn't support. This is why I kindly ask you to click the Accept button on the Office Timeline ribbon whenever applying manual changes to the timeline. By doing so, the manual edits that are supported will be saved (and kept even when updating a date or other objects on the graphic), while any formatting that is not supported will be reset to default. A solution for the latter case is to make these unsupported manual changes right at the end, after you've finished editing your graphic.

I really like using Office Timeline

I really like using Office Timeline! I am a visual person and so it is helpful to view the Project's progress and definitely helps to identify bottlenecks slowing down progress. To be able to take an entire Schedule and view it in one powerpoint slide is groundbreaking. The fact that you can import your excel spreadsheet and don't have to type everything all over again in powerpoint is truly what makes this Powerpoint add-on a game changer. Thanks!

It is a well designed and intuitive add-on. I use it with Smartsheet. The search is a bit slow, when you choose the sheet using search. Also when the program puts
The labels on the bars, it ignores the boundaries of the chart or the object and writes over bars or spills outside of the chart area. Not minor and I fix it manually. (I like the manual change option provided)

Timeline is a handy visual tool

Timeline is a handy visual tool.
I started using Timeline in 2019 and have been a loyal user ever since. I have used it in several capacities, from demonstrating due diligence timelines for $50M commercial real estate development deals to helping coaching clients plan for and track their professional development progress over time to communicating project scope and timelines to consulting clients engaging in data migration and digital transformation. Timeline is easy to use and accessible. Highly recommend.
