Good for high level programme visuals - needs a lower priced tier

I use this tool to create high level visuals for stakeholder presentations and summary documents. My planning is done in the background with heavier duty programme management tools (MS Project/Smartsheets).

It's very effective at doing this. However I feel the current price is significantly higher than it needs to be for the basic functionality I personally need.

More comprehensive tools (Wrike, Monday, Project 1 etc.) are £10/month and offer more. Whilst I appreciate this has grown to be a much larger platform in its own right, that is not the tool that I started using when it was launched some time ago in 2017-ish.

I purchased this originally in 2017 at $49 which was good value for money at the time *with a more limited feature set*, a feature set that is all that I personally need and value.

Now I unfortunately do not get the value out of it that the standard version is asking for, $150 is a lot for my use so I will likely limp on with the free version, which is a shame as I'd like to support the company as it's a great tool.

Tool is brilliant, value for me is questionable.

With regards to your resulting visuals not being easy to format, I need to remind you that the product is intended to help with the creation of high-level summary plans rather than that of complex ones. However, there are a few recommendations that you can implement in order to maximize the layout of richer sets of data:

1) A corrupt license file;
2) Security restrictions placed on the user’s account where the user’s registry key has its read/write privileges turned off. This prevents PowerPoint from using Office Timeline properly.

Uneffective Features

The software is helpful and enhances my presentations. However, I have found that the extra 50$ is useless and I feel that I lost this money as these features are not progressive and need more elaboration to be an effective tool

Too high a price for the value you get

Solid for creating project plans. But way too expensive for what it is (a glorified PowerPoint plugin). Plus, other important features are hidden behind the even more expensive Pro version. It's fine, but it should be half or only a third of the price.

Office Timeline Online version

The office timeline online version needs to have
a) Dependency tracking
b) Critical Path highlighting
c) Significantly lower cost compared to Office plug-in version

Easy to use, maximum clarity

For a narrow piece of additional software it is more expensive than I would like, but does help with creating nice-looking visual timelines.

Great communication tool, small glitches

For weekly presentation updates, this tool allows me to do 5min edits and have it done. My whole team of project managers adopt it since its easy to replicate and the impact is great.
Small glitches to work on improving: If you make an edit (lets say, color of a bar) outside of the Edit Timeline function, the tool will override the change and will return it to its previous version. Better integration with MS PPT can be achieved.

This is a glorified ppt template

This is a glorified ppt template. I ordered over two years ago and they enrolled me into a subscription model without my knowledge, kept my CC on file without my knowledge and had to get my bank involved to block their charges.

Update: since I’m not able to reply to responses, these are new features your company has rolled out. 2 years ago, they did not exist, 1 year ago you couldn’t even connect to a person to talk to. The amount of marketing emails your company also sends is egregious and had to be marked as spam as I also never opted to enroll into. And why would I be looking to opt out of a subscription I never signed up for?? If you are looking for timeline software: Monday.com, Smart Sheets, and even Power Point (as they have a similar template) are better options .

Office Timeline strives to be an ethical company, and that is why the following have been standard procedures for years when it comes to Auto-Renew-On subscriptions:

1. You can set Auto-Renew to ON/OFF at checkout, when making the initial purchase.
2. You can always log into your account and turn Auto-Renewal ON/OFF.
3. 6 months into your 1-year subscription, when Auto-Renew is set to ON, we send you a reminder that you can turn it OFF if you want to.
4. 30 days before license expiration, we send you an email reminder that the license will Auto-Renew if it is set to ON.
5. 15 days before license expiration we once again send you an email reminder that the license will Auto-Renew if it is set to ON.
6. We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee, no questions asked.

It seems that you have missed our notifications but that's not a problem as you can always ask for a refund by writing to our support department: support[at]officetimeline.com or by opening a support ticket: https://support.officetimeline.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

We understand that you did not want to renew the Office Timeline subscription and we are sorry that our product hasn't brought value to you. This is why I informed you about the possibility of requesting a refund. I would have asked one of my customer support colleagues to contact you directly to process this refund, but your review is not associated with any e-mail address or full name that we can use to search for your account within our database. So, once again, we rely on you to reach out to us at support[at]officetimeline.com with regards to this matter.

I also need to make some clarifications towards some of your statements, specifically with regards to:
1) Not being able to opt out from a subscription that you never enrolled into.
Office Timeline is a software-as-a-service type of product. It comes as a freemium model AND two paid editions. For you to be charged by us means to have purchased a subscription for any of the two paid editions (Office Timeline Pro or Office Timeline Pro+). Purchasing a subscription for any of these two involves a series of mandatory AND intentional steps: choosing one of the two paid plans, adding it to one’s basket, proceeding to checkout, entering email address (if the user hasn’t already created an account beforehand) along with payment details, and confirming the purchase.
We could never “enroll” anyone to any of our subscriptions without their knowledge as the process is multifaceted and requires the user’s input and consent several times along the way.
2) Not receiving our Renewal notifications because these were not in place.
We have used this system from the very beginning to ensure that everyone’s aware of our renewal policies and get to decide whether they extend their license with Office Timeline or not. Since you mentioned that you marked our emails as spam, this may explain why you didn’t receive your renewal reminders. It may be possible that you marked as spam not only our marketing e-mails, but our customer service ones as well.
