Lift started in 2010 as a family-run shop in Puerto Rico. In 2015, co-founder Nick Leason — an engineer and lifelong surfer — designed the original eFoil, adapting technology from smartphones, electric vehicles, and drones into a board that flies above the water without needing wind or waves. Lift shipped its first commercial eFoil, the LIFT1, in 2018, and has released five eFoil generations since, leading up to today's LIFT5 and LIFTX.

The battery needed a firmware update of…
The battery needed a firmware update of which I was not aware. My granddaughter and I got stranded over a mile from our dock on our very first ride. We had to flag down a boat to get towed home and during the rescue, the board bumped the rear swim deck of the boat and sustained a bad scratch and a gouge to the deck pad. Not a great start to owning a 15k piece of equipment. Also, my battery on/off switch seems to be defective as it requires multiple attempts before it responds and often doesn’t respond at all.

I inquired about my controller going…
I inquired about my controller going bad. I think it just froze over a software update date…. It was only couple years old and now I have to buy a new one. Hopefully it lasts a bit longer

I have a V2 49 board and it is the love…
I have a V2 4,9” board and it is the love of my life. I had a software conflict that affected my system and I called up and the guys and they knew exactly what to do. Because I am a mechanic I realize how complicated these things are and lift really knows how to take care of their customers. They know how to get us back on the water where we want to be. I had an awesome experience with Lift's customer support. I had a bunch of questions about wing selection, and Sully absolutely crushed it. She even reached out to her "wing guy" to get another opinion and came back with recommendations that matched exactly what I was looking for. That extra effort definitely didn't go unnoticed.
I ride mostly flat water here in Colorado, so my goals are a little different than someone chasing ocean swell. I'm always looking for a surfy, carving setup, and they took the time to understand my riding style instead of giving me a one-size-fits-all answer. I was stoked with how much detail they put into helping me make the right decision.
Customer service like this is hard to find these days. Huge thanks to Sully and the Lift team for going the extra mile. It definitely made me even more excited to get out on the water!
