I have a base layer from each edit, I absolutely love them and use them for running and climbing. They are extremely comfortable and the design and quality are superb. Any time I have needed help or had a question, Ed has been quick to respond, knowledgeable and genuine. For sizing, I have down-sized for a close fit for the sleeveless tops and stayed to size for the long sleeve, this is solely due to my shoulder width from climbing and doubt you would have to normally.

You get what you pay for when it comes to Kostüme bibshorts. They fit very well, and it doesn't feel like I'm wearing bibshorts they are so comfy. The sleeveless baselayer is a game changer for the cool mornings. Ed was a gentleman to deal with before, during, and after I received my delivery.

I contacted Kostume to ask a question before ordering and received a very prompt reply . I ordered my bib shorts which looked very nicely made but sadly I was just too short for them and had to return them . That process was very easy and I will order again from them , their base layers look very nice

I chose these shorts as I'm starting endurance rides and normally I cannot afford better shorts but they were on sale an ultra cyclist highly recommended them, as did the road.cc reviews so I grabbed the chance. I have only been able to try the shorts and baselayer for fit as I'm saving them for warmer days but the quality looks excellent and the fit was perfect. I was worried about the sizing of the bib shorts as according to the size chart I am a L on the chest a M on the waist and an XL on the hips but went for a L and it fits perfectly and does not give me sausage legs! Delivery was great, it arrived really fast!

Didn’t really know what to expect as this brand was new to me. Received the product very quickly for being located in the U.S. The quality of the cycling jersey and neck warmer was excellent! Customer service was great and quick to respond. The best part of all was the art work it’s so unique and beautiful. Highly recommend and I’ll be ordering again if I need anymore items!

Best fitting cycling kit I've bought yet!

Appearance:

The quality and finish of the bibs is excellent. The materials used are soft to the touch and luxurious. The chamois is comfortable and appears durable.

Beware of Fit:

As I prefer a race fit I followed Kostume’s recommendations and downsized from my usual medium to a small. Although the shorts do fit race tight the straps are too tight, even when cycling. I believe downsizing will suit most men of average build but may not suit those with a body similar to mine. I have shorter legs than most men of my height and as a consequence a commensurately longer torso. As you can appreciate downsizing for someone with shorter legs and a longer torso will mean bib leg length will likely be improved; but strap length will be shorter than needed causing pinching, discomfort and overstretching.

I’ve only used the bibs a few times and am therefore unable to comment on the durability and lifespan of the straps. I’m also unable to comment on whether or not comfort will improve over time.

I recommend to Kostume that it address my concerns with a written warning to potential buyers, who have other than regular body builds.

Long term comfort and durability

I’ve used the Kostume bibs for just over two years substituting them liberally with 2 pair of Assos bibs. I’ve logged about 3500 km on each bib and feel I can now comment on comfort and durability in an informed manner. It should be noted that Assos have been my go to bibs.

I’ve washed and cared for the three bibs in exactly the same way. Washing them after each use in a laundry bag using mild detergent. I do not make it a practice to ride in inclement weather.

All three bibs are exceedingly comfortable. All bibs have soft fabric and excellent chamois’s however the Assos bibs have proven far more durable. The Assos stitching is intact and the leg grippers have not stretched. I continue to use them without exception and expect they will last for several thousand kilometres more. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the Kostume bibs. The waste seams have become unglued, one shoulder strap has unstitched entirely on one side and the chamois stitching on the right side has come loose and torn.

While happy with the Kostume’s comfort I am very disappointed with their durability which is why I’ve downgraded them from my initial 4 star rating to a 2 star.

The product is very nice and attention to detail. The only thing is I hope there would be more room in crouch area.

The bib is amazing with its very comfortable chamois, and the fabric quality is one of the best.

Brilliant customer service! My order was delivered to Royal Mail delivery office instead of my address and Kostume were super quick to respond and update me. The arm warmers were a gift - an absolute hit. They were worn today and were “amazing”.

A very smooth end to end proces and super fast service!

I'm an audaxer and long distance cyclist and chamois bib shorts are a critical bit of kit when on the bike for hours and even days on end. These bib shorts arrived nicely packaged. Could see straight away that they were really high quality in every way.....quality smooth lycra with minimal seams, really good quality chamois, Well thought out design and styling which is unique. I've ridden a couple of 100km + day rides since and they have proved to be really comfortable and now will be my go to shorts over my other scorpion badged brand. They stay where they need too without any silicon hems and perfect fit below! I definitely recommend these.

Could not have been more efficient if they'd tried! Great product, too.

Probably the greatest bib shots on the planet

One of my favourite bib shorts. Good fit, well-made, nice design. Room for improvement: slightly lower front end, side pocket.

Great small company. The bib shorts are impressive, not worn yet but should be good.

Kostume are producing fantastic quality clothing, with small production runs and recycled materials keeping their impact on the environment minimal. The bibs really are the best I've tried, compared to many of the biggest names in the business, and use alternative materials that leave you wondering why everyone else isn't doing it already. The jerseys are well thought out, with lots of pockets that hold firm even under heavy packing, with great and unique designs. I've put both the bibs and jersey to test on long and very hot riding with plenty of climbing, they took it all in their stride and left me hand washing them day to day rather than wear all the other gear I'd taken on holiday with me. They're just at home in cooler wetter Peak District conditions in the UK. I can't wait to see where Kostume go from here and will definitely be buying more of their products in the future.
