We booked our Komodo trip through an agent from them working with Exploracation Indonesia, and the way this entire situation has been handled has been extremely disappointing.

The agent apparently has no control whatsoever over the booking or refund, despite being the person who sold us the trip and handled our booking. When the earthquake happened and we had serious and completely legitimate safety concerns about proceeding, there was no real support or flexibility.

Even worse, the terms and conditions were never properly shared or explained to us at the time of booking. Only when things went wrong and we requested a refund did they suddenly produce a document and use it as a reason to refuse our refund — despite previously the agency telling us that we were eligible for a 50% refund and would transfer the money that day.

So, when everything was fine, they were happy to take our money. When a serious situation happened, suddenly the rules changed and we were presented with terms we had never been given or made aware of.

This is extremely unprofessional and shows a complete lack of transparency and customer care.
We paid a substantial amount of money and are now being left with a significant financial loss. Very disappointing experience. I would strongly recommend thinking twice before booking with this company or its agents.

May 9 2026: i booked a cruise oackage for 2 for July 18 to 20, 2026. Paid the ticket.

Whoever was booking me, booked me instead for Aug 18 to 20, 2026.

Sent me the confirmed ticket for the wrong date on the same day.

July 11:

I messaged saying "we're all set for the trip"

July 17: today, we arrived in Labuan Bajo.

Realizing they booked us for a wrong date, I messaged them.

Me: i booked for July 18-20
Komodo tours: and you are not check it at all?

The unprofessionalism and unreasonability was consistent.

Im glad I am not going on the vessel.

During my 3-day, 2-night trip on VHALE, I experienced one of the happiest moments of my journey.

Every single day was filled with fun, laughter, and unforgettable memories. The itinerary was amazing, but what truly made this trip so special was every member of the crew. They were incredibly kind, friendly, caring, and always made sure everyone felt safe and comfortable. Their positive energy made the boat feel like a family rather than just a tour.

Thank you for all the hard work and for creating such a wonderful experience. I will always remember these three beautiful days with a smile.

If I ever have the chance to visit Komodo again, I will definitely choose VHALE without hesitation. I highly recommend VHALE to anyone looking for an unforgettable liveaboard experience.

We had an absolutely perfect experience on the Carnaby 2! The boat was beautiful, clean, and very comfortable. Our Suite Cabin had a lovely private balcony that gave us extra space to relax. The crew was attentive, friendly, and took great care of us throughout the whole trip. The itinerary was well organized, the food was delicious, and we got to see everything we hoped for - Komodo dragons, Pink Beach, Padar Island, manta rays, the bat colony at sunset. Everything exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend Komodo Boat Tour and the Carnaby 2 to anyone looking for a top-notch Komodo experience!
