I bought a car from them which was supplied with a steering issue, this has been confirmed by two independent reports. Despite this they refused to refund and take the car back.
The car is unusable as I've been advised not to drive it by both inspection companies and Trading Standards so I'm stuck with an undrivable vehicle. Dealers must refund if an issue is presented within 30 days under the Consumer Act.
The warranty they sold me was £583 but on later inspection only covered a max payout of £1,000. I managed to get this refunded by issuing a formal complaint after advice from the Financial Conduct Authority.
They ghost you, don't answer emails or the phone. They are not a member of the Motoring Ombudsman which speaks volumes.
Update:
Since I'm unable to reply to their reply I will clarify here.
I notified JW Autos 3 days after purchase and was told to get it inspected at a garage. I produced a report from an MOT garage 6 days after purchase stating the car had a steering issue and rejecting the car under consumer law. JW Autos refused and insisted on a second report. I got a second report stating definite steering issue and possible steering column problem and that it would have been present at the point of sale.
Whatever the issue, if the car is not fit for purpose within 30 days of purchase it must be refunded. It is not the responsibility of the customer to diagnose only to prove there is an issue.
I gave 5 days to respond after sending them the 2nd report and after multiple emails and calls from me they offered a refund on the 5th day but insisted I take the car to them as their recovery vehicle was booked out for 2 weeks. I had been advised by both inspection sites and Trading Standards not to drive the car for safety reasons and so told them I was unable to deliver the car and it would have to be collected. JW Autos said they would get back and then didn't. I gave two more days to respond before continuing to claims. They didn't respond despite me emailing and ringing them. I then submitted a claim and notified them and they immediately rang me to offer refund and collection. I stated I was happy to cancel claim but now I would need refund not only of the car value but of the two reports and the claim fee. They said they would get back and didn't.
The car was not fit for purpose on point of sale. The first report by an independent MOT centre which cost £45 should have been enough but they insisted on a second report which cost me £300. The claim fee was £450. It should have been straightforward. After receiving the 1st report they should have arranged for the car to be collected and issued a refund. Instead they have delayed and pushed me to have a second report. As mentioned in other reviews here, communication ranges from poor to non existent.

AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!
I'm sure they seem great, if your car has no issues. However, I purchased a car which immediately developed problems.
Now having to to through small claims court, have been without a car for 2 months, the whole experience has been incredibly stressful.
WARNING - look thoroughly at the WARRANTY - it is not as great as it would seem - max £1000 per claim and a lot of things aren't covered at all.

The sales lady was quite argumentative and at times standoffish if it wasn’t for the fact I liked the car so much I would have left and gone elsewhere.
The lady who helped do the tax and logbook however was very friendly and helpful. She also brought to light the fact the sales lady didn’t mention the ceramic or one other thing do with the clean.
The was not really cleaned to any degree of satisfaction as there was still spill marks by the cup holders and dog hair around the inside of the car. I would not recommend this dealer and would not go back in the future.

I’m sharing my experience with JW Autos regarding an ongoing issue.
Within two weeks of purchasing the vehicle in July 2025, we identified a coolant-related problem and raised this with the dealership promptly.
The dealership did cover the cost of a water pump replacement following initial garage advice. However, this did not resolve the issue.
I have sent multiple emails to the dealership and made numerous calls to attempt to rectify on good terms, however they have for the most part either delayed or ignored me outright.
The only direct response received from the director, Jack, was to decline further assistance. Since then, communication has ceased, with multiple emails and calls going unanswered.
The vehicle is now off the road and undrivable, with repair costs estimated at around £6,000 for a significant mechanical issue that was evidently present at the time of purchase.
We have also incurred additional inconvenience and cost through repeated garage visits and ongoing coolant top-ups while trying to manage the issue.
This matter is ongoing and being pursued formally.
I would advise others to take this experience into consideration when deciding whether to purchase from this dealership.
I will update this review as the situation progresses.
6/4/26 update.
> On 17th March 26, I hand delivered and emailed an official letter of complaint to JW Autos and asked for open communication to deal with this amicably. I gave 14 days. They ignored me.
> On 31st March 26, I hand delivered and emailed a letter before action, again asking for open communication to deal with this amicably. I gave 7 days notice before court action. They ignored me.
I will now be taking JW Autos to court. I will update as and when this progresses.
