Best plumbers around Brisbane/GoldCoast
Kris from JR gas and water plumbing was amazing, he was prompt very informative definitely knew what he was doing, we had water in no time!
Also can’t say this enough, Jr gas and water were by far the cheapest plumbers around Brisbane/Gold Coast, from start to ordering our system online to finishing installing the product they did an absolute fantastic job.

I recently had a new hot water system installed by JR Water and Gas, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. From the initial inquiry to the final installation, everything was handled with outstanding professionalism.
Communication was prompt and clear, the team was highly efficient, and the technicians were knowledgeable and respectful. They arrived on time, worked quickly and cleanly, and answered all my questions with patience and care. The pricing was also very reasonable and transparent—no hidden surprises.
It’s rare to find a company that combines quality, reliability, and great customer service all in one, but JR Water and Gas truly delivered. I highly recommend them and will definitely be using their services again in the future.

Poor Risk Awareness & No Accountability After Dangerous Installation
I engaged JR Gas & Water to install a hot water system and advised them at the time that I had a dog on the property. Despite this, they installed the electrical cable in exposed, low-level plastic conduit — fully accessible to my dog. Days later, my dog chewed through the conduit, exposing live wiring. We were extremely lucky he wasn’t electrocuted and killed.
When I raised this serious safety issue with the company, they took no accountability. They insisted the installation was compliant and refused to rectify it — even though AS/NZS 3000:2018 requires protection against foreseeable mechanical damage during “normal use,” which in this case included a dog they were aware of.
They deflected responsibility, despite having photographic evidence of the damage and knowing a pet was present. No advice or warnings were given at the time of install about the conduit being unsuitable for pets or suggestions to use safer materials.
I’m now having to escalate the matter to the relevant regulatory bodies due to the lack of concern for safety and unwillingness to resolve the issue. If you're a pet owner — or simply expect a tradesperson to assess risks and stand by their work — I’d recommend looking elsewhere.

We completely reject the claims made in this review and consider them to be misleading, unfair, and an inaccurate reflection of the work carried out.
Your hot water installation was completed in accordance with current electrical safety standards and using industry-standard materials and methods. This exact installation setup is used in over 100,000 compliant installations annually in Queensland — including homes with pets — without incident.
Your claim of “exposed live wiring” is not only false but directly contradicted by your own photo, which clearly shows no exposed conductors, no visible damage at the time of install, and no safety issue created by our team.
Importantly, your previous system had a loose, unsecured cable hanging even lower to the ground, presenting far greater mechanical risk — yet your dog never chewed that. The idea that our professionally installed, securely fixed, triple-insulated cable posed a greater risk is simply not credible.
We were never advised that your dog had a tendency to chew cables — a serious behavioural risk that any responsible owner would disclose prior to works. Simply saying “I have a dog” is not sufficient. That’s no different to saying “I have children” and expecting us to assume they’ll tamper with electrical gear, or saying “I have a car” and expecting us to plan for someone crashing into the hot water system — both of which are more common damage causes than dogs chewing newly installed conduit.
You stated the damage occurred “days later,” yet the system was installed between March 13–15, and you did not report any issue until April 6 — more than three weeks later. If this truly was as serious as claimed, and your dog was exposed to risk, it would have been reported immediately. This raises the question: Was the incident truly a few days later, or is this simply an attempt to shift responsibility well after the fact? The photos, the delay, and the seriousness you're now claiming simply do not align.
Your installation included:
A triple-insulated, hardwired electrical connection
Securely clipped conduit at compliant height
A dedicated RCBO safety switch, providing active protection
All work was carried out exactly in line with the Terms and Conditions you agreed to at the time of purchase. The damage described is the result of a site-specific environmental factor that no installer could account for without it being disclosed.
There is no fault, no non-compliance, and no negligence on our part. Based on the timeline you’ve provided and the nature of the damage, this appears to be less an installation issue and more a matter of owner neglect. In fact, based on the content of your emails and review, this may be something more appropriate for the RSPCA to follow up on, given your own admission that the animal was left in a potentially hazardous environment without supervision or containment.
We take the reputation of our business seriously and do not accept baseless accusations, false narratives, or attempts to shift blame when the facts clearly show otherwise.
Great dealings with JR Gas and Water
I have never organised an installation of this type before, through on-line sources, but was very happy with the thoroughness and simplicity of the procedure dealing with JR Gas and Water. Throughout the entire quoting and installation I was kept fully informed by Jarred at JR and all questions answered.
From quote to completion it only took a couple of days.
Sean, the installation tech was brilliant. He turned up at the appointed time and was most efficient in his work. He ensured that the job site was left in a clean and tidy.

Excellent Service
As an IT guy I was surprised to see how well these guys have got their act together when it comes to their online systems which effortlessly facilitates the whole end to end process from quoting, to appointments to payment. Pricing was significantly cheaper than other similar hot water specialists and couldn't fault the end result. Shoutout to Charlie and Sean, thanks for the great job guys. The guys from Proficient Electrical who hooked up the new electrical circuit were excellent too. The Emerald Heat Pump works well and I am a little surprised at just how cheap it is to run at around 30c a day.

Competitive and trustworthy
JR Gas and Water was really competitive with their price (at least $500 cheaper than 3 other competitors) which included a free detailed quote to supply a brand new Stiebel Eltron DEL18+/50 Instant hot water system 27AMP with full warranty, installation and connection by a qualified plumber and electrician and submission of a Form 4 for the hot water system at my unit. Their online customer portal made it so easy to seek advice on required installations laws, to engage and confirm the service and appointment, and communication was always easy when I had to change the timing of the first offered appointment. I'd use JR Gas again anytime. A really good experience overall, thanks for your professionalism. Your customer portal is certainly the future of customer engagement with increased tech savviness among the community.
