Would give zero if I could!

Would give zero if I could!! Charged £33 as said I had pack for 16 hrs even though it was returned after 2 hrs . Customer service shocking . DO NOT USE!!

Had a very bad experience in Pavilions…

Had a very bad experience in Pavilions shopping centre, the machine is more than happy to take your money but the return mechanism was broken meaning I will now be charged 35 euro for what I intended to be an hour long quick charging session. It is a gamble as to whether or not the return machine will be workinh and I noticed on the machine there were a good few charging bricks missing so this may be happening to others too. It seems the machines may not be checked regularly enough or they may only come out once a complaint is put through. I can barely afford this to be honest so I was very exasperated when this happened. I had no other option as I was stuck there late with a dead phone. Unfortunately I cannot go back to return it as I have a disability that means if I go out for a long day I have to rest for up to 2 weeks after and I am mostly housebound so I will not have an opportunity to try to find an alternative station. You are almost better off going into a pub and getting a seat and asking will they charge your phone if you buy a pint. This was my first experience and I will not be using these stations again. There is no instruction on the screen as to what to do if the mechanism isn't working and you are pretty much screwed as management tells you they dont own it the company does and they dont know anything about it. Not their fault really but if I had known there is basically no recourse if the return machine doesnt work aside from driving around to find another one which I cannot do, I would never have used it. By the time im able to go out again I will be charged the late fee so I may as well keep it. It charged quite slowly to be honest too lol!

I have already emailed you the day that I left this review. This was nearly a week ago now.
Edit: still no reply 19th of March.

Utter rip off

Utter rip off, charged me £36 and it was never returned even though I only used it for about an hour and returned it well within the 24 hours, eventually got £26 refunded (gesture of goodwill they reckon)... but had to pretty much beg for it!!

Update 27/02... and whaddya know, I didn't even get the £26, for some reason they gave me £20, so I am £16 down!! DON'T DO IT

I had no charger so I said I'll try this and see how it goes and I loved it use to get charger and easy to return it it was actually cheaper then I thought I would recommend it to anyone that needs a charger for phone or iPad ..very satisfied I'am.

rented on in a hotel for the night becaus ei forgot my chrger, took it back in the morning and it chrged me £33 when i only had it from 11pm - 9AM wtf this is crap

Absolutely disgusting

Absolutely disgusting. How can this company be allowed to operate in the A and E of a hospital.

My phone ran low due to the huge wait I had in the hospital so I rented a power bank from a Joos machine for less than two hours. I returned it only to find I’d been charged the purchase fee on £36.

Preying on the unfortunate position being with my mother in law and a suspected heart attack.

EDIT: having received the below response, this should be made clear at the point of rental. One week later, I’m still without any refund.

I’m amazed you’re not being investigated.

Seeing a charge of £36 for less than two hours of rental usually indicates that the POS rental option was used. All POS rentals are subject to a £36 holding deposit, which is automatically returned to your account within 2–7 working days, provided the power bank was returned correctly.

A really useful facility in a hospital ER, where often you are waiting a long time, and being able to rechange phones easily is a real boon. A great idea and good service.

Outrageous pricing and a scam

I was in hospital and used the charger for 3.5 hours and was charged £17. How outrageous is this when they say it’s only like £2 or something for an hour. I’ll never ever use them again. For that amount if money I could have bought a power bank. Rubbish

Absolutely shocking company with zero…

Absolutely shocking company with zero customer support and no morals.
Returned power bank to the main stand but my 13 year old daughter is getting continuous attempt on her bank card for a fee of £36!

The bank was returned.

Formal complaint logged and after repeated information still no resolve.
Disgraceful behaviour towards a minors Go Henry card!

Ombudsman & trading standards contacted.

Great product, responsive customer service

I used Joos on a night out, woke up in the morning and saw a £36 charge on my card, contacted customer service and was told as long as it was returned the charge would be refunded. I got it back in 2 days. Responsive support team and overall a fantastic service!!

Charged me £36 for one hours use and returned it straight after! Had this 'holding fee' deducted from my bank account for a month now, chasing their 'support' team for 2 weeks now to get my refund, takes them days to reply. I'm really not getting anywhere with them!! Can see it's happened to countless other people so glad I'm not alone. Maybe if I leave a review, they will take my refund seriously... considering a dispute through my bank as it's like emailing a brick wall.

Good company to deal with.

Used Joos power bank when my wife was in hospital. Great service as she relies on her phone for her diabetic glucose monitor. Unfortunately in tbe traumatic situation I failed to put the power bank back correctly and was charged for not returning it. I contacted Joos and even though it was my mistake as a good will gesture they refunded part of the payment.

Took the stress out of a difficult situation

I was at the hospital and already feeling very stresses when I realised my phone battery was running low. Finding a Joos Power station nearby was a huge relief. The process was quick and my phone started charging straight away. Saved the day

Whilst in very poor health, vulnerable and in need of my phone which was low battery - I STUPIDLY trusted and made use of a power bank hire service I was signposted to.

This service being JOOS RENT A POWER BANK.

Showed fee as being: £1 unlock fee + £3 for 30mins (with a hold fee on bank card of £36 until the power bank was replaced after use).

Purposely the powerbanks are weak and will not effectively charge phone up much; certainly not in 30 mins - so this is a clear opportunity for a scam.

Upon using and replacing the hired power bank, and returning home - I was horrified to see multiple deductions made from my account (listed under name 'Joos' and 'NYX/JOOS'

I STRONGLY ADVISE ANYONE USING THIS SERVICE, WHICH LEAVES THE USER OPEN TO BE FINANCIALLY ABUSED AND SCAMMED, AND CAUSE STRESS, UPSET IN ADDITION TO LOSS OF MONEY.

NOTE: ¹Trying to get your money back is hit b miss, an time and energy consuming, as you will have to provide numerous requested bits of info as evidence and even then you will not be fully recompensed and may never get a penny back.

To clarify, our pricing and the £36 pre-authorisation hold are displayed on the station before rental. The hold is not a charge and is automatically released by the bank once the power bank is returned.

Seeing multiple deductions under the names Joos and NYX Joos can be confusing. These labels usually indicate different rental methods: payments marked NYX Joos are rentals made by tapping your card or phone, while payments marked Joos are rentals made through the app. This can sometimes mean that more than one rental was started.

We’re really sorry that you were asked to provide multiple pieces of information. Unlike app-based rentals, where customer details are available to us, contactless/ “tap and go” rentals do not provide any user details. This means we rely on the information you share to help us locate the rental and resolve the issue correctly. When details are incomplete, it can make this process more difficult, but unfortunately, this is the only way we’re able to investigate contactless rentals.

We understand this isn’t an ideal experience, especially in a hospital setting. We want to reassure you that we are not a scam. We’ve supported millions of customers, and while we recognise that our service can sometimes fall short, feedback like this helps us identify where we need to improve.
